Rumor has it there may have been undercover cops in the group of crotch rocketeers, who did nothing. It's being discussed on Justice with Judge Janine on Fox News Channel now.

Do people actually READ the posts in this thread. This was posted three times in the last page.
And it's not rumor. It was confirmed by a NYPD official, with ongoing investigations.

If you had the means to break the video down and examine it carefully you'd see it differently.

Things people didn't notice. << This site has a basic breakdown of the initial incident for those who are still doubting who to 'blame'.

This site has only picked up a few things. Try it yourself and you will see that the drivers mirror had been smashed from the first time the driver stopped.

There are also pics all over the net that show the passenger window has been smashed, the passenger side front tyre is shredded, (not likely to be caused simply by running somebody over), a dent in the passenger side roofline. Once the driver had been pulled from the vehicle the rear window was smashed and the back door of the SUV (WHERE THE CHILD WAS!) had been opened BY THE BIKERS. There was no need for this damage if they just wanted the driver.

Yet people still claim there was no intimidation or aggression.

Thanks for that link. I don't need a break down, but what was useful in that link is the HD video, it clears a lot up . I was wondering how people on here could know what was going on in that video in the OP. You sounded so sure of something you can't see in the OP video, but now I understand.

I think it's more likely the front right tyre was damaged when he ran over the bikes though.

It would make sense to replace the video in the op with the HD version.

This thread has become a big pit of blaming the innocent. Informative posts are being passed over. There was an off duty cop in the group and an undercover dick very close to where the driver was yanked out of the window.

Chris Cruz should ultimately be held accountable for the rider who has been paralyzed and also charged with domestic terrorism.

I agree. Maybe Blackbird can just add it when he is next on.

Done.

I don't know what their rules are but I figure if a crime is being committed they have a sworn duty to uphold the law. But it might be muddy water when they're deep undercover. Of course if they were trying to keep their cover for a greater good of taking all of those clowns down it just went up in smoke when this news was plastered everywhere.

👍

I'm in no way trying to defend the bikers here, just questioning the possibility wether or not the SUV driver made the wisest choice in his situation, maybe he did, not sure if anyone who wasn't there truly knows for sure though. It's just another opinion.

Once again you keep saying this but in all your wisdom have yet to actually give an alternative. Play devil's advocate elsewhere because the NYPD and the public at large agree with what the SUV driver did.

Both parties are at fault. The driver was doing fine, he was being harassed. Up until he decided to ram them when he could have left fine he wasn't in immediate danger or threatened where he needed to use his vehicle as a weapon... stupid move. I don't know where these guys get off trying to enter vehicles on their own though.

I don't either almost all these bike mob vids I've seen every group tries to enter the car they are ganging up on. As if some two wheeled crusaders, it's quite annoying and obviously shows that they have intent on harming the occupants. I mean why else would you do it "oh hi just wanted to say that I don't like you not letting me and my buddies have a big chunk of the road or not letting us speed past like bats out of hell." We know what they really are going to do.

A buddy of mine who is a biker and a Native American (aka Indian) and a patriot, just posted this on Facebook.

He is absolutely disgusted by this whole ordeal.

Perfect visual comparison. REAL bikers that I have known have always seemed proud with respect for the road and other users.

Interesting. I've been brake checked by a group that looks an awful lot like the top group so that they could let their 30 friends cut in front of me in bumper to bumper traffic. I managed not to run him over.

If that's what happened in NY, driver of the Rover should go to prison. I was under the impression that a biker was ran over after the bikers had swarmed around the Ranger Rover & started attacking the vehicle.

Just going by what Dan seems to be suggesting. Either he knows more than we do, or haven't been following news reports last couple of days.

I misread. Dan was knocking on the stereotyping(between HD & Imports). My bad.

Reading this article from CNN. The last paragraph made me laugh.

CNN
"We are not here to blame anyone, we are not here to point any fingers," Albert Elkerson said. "The true question is how could we have avoided what happened last Sunday, and what can we do to prevent that."

The true answer is dont act like a bunch of ***holes, dont brake check something that weighs 4x you, and certainly dont surround and attack a vehicle with a family inside after causing the accident!

+1 👍

Surely this case wont really go through.

Many jurors will pretty much say not guilty to the SUV driver.

Wait, one of the bikers is suing the driver of the Range Rover? Did I miss something? If he is, then this case will be laughed at (although due to the severity of it, it shouldn't be). If anything, this looked like an insurance scam of causing an accident. This case may get more coverage than actual court time by hundredfold.

I saw the biker who forced stop the Range Rover on the news today('brake checker'). He said that he's not a violent man, and he's a family man, has two kids. Either he, or his lawyer said that he wasn't trying to slow down a SUV that weights xx-amount of tons(forget the number) with his motorcycle. It's really too bad that after witnessing the actual footage, he pretty much sound like a untrustworthy person.

It makes sense though. These are immature people, living in the fantasy world. Press conference video that was posted few pages back was the same thing. How do you prevent this from happening in the future? If your kids are old enough to be in the elementary school, maybe you could ask them? :dunce:

Yup, I wish the law would come down hard on at least one of these clowns.

The SUV driver hasn't been charged with anything. Three of the bikers so far are facing charges, though.

Did somebody read the article on jalopnik?

They tried to beat up Lien's wife.

Illegal rally, undercover cops, ....

Man I honestly wish the SUV would have broken more spines. And I mean it. Those ******heads need to face the warth of the law. The policeman too.

I've read something similar in a few places, and there was a statement made by a witness to support this.

How many of these 'victim' asshat bikers and their friends are likely to want revenge?

I haven't once heard anything mentioned of the SUV familys safety. With the amount of morons that are still supporting the bikers, Lien and his family are likely to need some sort of protection.

I love bikes, always have, and have expressed many thoughts on the subject in our own Motorcycles Forum right here at GTPlanet.
I've ridden in groups, and I've ridden in rallies and parades.
For every nasty biker there is on the road, there are a thousand good bikers.

This was obviously a nasty group of people, in fact deserving of an undercover officer in the group.

The bad guys have to deal now with The Age of Rodney King. Or should we be calling it the iReporter Age? :D

Real bikers I've read about and spoken to are disgusted at the behavior of these muppets.
One of these idiots on their own is bad enough, but when you get a group of them they all want to be the alpha, the center of attention.
They pull more stunts and act like bigger idiots competing with one another.
A dance of the pea-cocks, so to speak.

This is apparent in almost every situation where large groups get together. I've seen it with motorcyclists, bicyclists, joggers, cars... doesn't matter. When people get together in large groups they start acting like idiots. Strength in numbers means not following the rules.

Lots of times you'll see bicyclists stop at a red light (less often than you'd like, but still you'll see it plenty). I've never seen 20 bicyclists stopped at a light. They'll all blow right through it. I've seen a group of bicyclists take up their entire lane AND the oncoming lane of a windy mountain road with zero visibility turns and no shoulder... that's how insane people get when they get into groups. Those cyclists were traveling up hill at very slow speeds in some cases. Compared to a car out for a romp in the hills, they were standing still. You could not have paid me $1000 to stand still in the middle of the road on the blind side of some of those turns - and yet there were the cyclists doing almost exactly that.
