i love the GT series, because i can drive with my own dream-cars. i can drive a f430, or a BMW m3 whatever.... i can do more like in the real life. i take a car (that i want), choose a nice track and go really fast and hard :). THATS pretty cool, and i love it. furthermore looks the cars and the interieur really really nice and realistic.

Posting this here, as it seems as good as any. I would say the number one reason for me is the variaty of cars, factory cars and race cars. GT2 and GT4 had the best collection out of any car game ever made. Visually GT series has always been and most likely will continue to be better than all other versions. So with that being said we know one thing for sure that no game is better in those areas. Therefore if GT5 does nothing else they should at least have as many vehicles as GT4. Hopefully more, maybe not at first but by the time the game has been released for a year or two. The tracks in GT4 was good but not as good as the cars. With a large number of cars you need a large number of tracks in all variations. Then give users lots of options to create races or race series. Especially for arcade races ability to choose your oponents.

I like and love the Gran Turismo series because the simulation, the physics, cars , tracks... but specially because it's hard to get a GT bored.

I am currently kinda bored with GT at the moment. And I don't have a PS3.
But when I hve the inclination to sit down and play it is some of the best times.
I enjoy the physics.
I enjoy being able to drive a car in "anger". I would never do on the road what I do in the "simulator".
I also enjoy the sheer choice of cars and venues on which to drive them.

I love the GT series because of the cars and tracks. The amount of cars and tuning options are great along with the extremely accurate real world tracks in the game. The graphics have always been better than other racing games.

I don't really even do much racing anymore, especially in GT4, because I enjoy the game so much more by just picking a car and cruising the Nurburgring or other tracks. I have a cockpit set up with a G25 so it gets pretty immersive. Sometimes I won't go pass 75mph because it's just as fun cruising around while listening to music on my iPod.

I love GT series because It might be the first and today is one of ONLY game that Simulates most realistically standard street cars, Toyotas, Hondas, Fords, VWs, etc etc. No other game on market simulates them better then GT.

As well I love the EPIC feel of Career mode. There are always TONS of events, tons of tracks, and most important tons of cars.

The greatest thing for me is the satisfaction the game gives. Just every aspect of the experience, from winning that first race in your new heap, to buying that one car (if I ever won the lottery...), to finally mastering the unapologetic learning curve and making the car do the work, brings me boundless joy.

That, and every car ever. :P

I just enjoy that I can own a car that I can't afford and have a blast driving them! I love how the game is done and how much fun it is... whether it was GT1, GT2, GT3, GT4, or GT5: Prologue. Love the game! :D :) --- Randy

And, GBWH1991, go for the black and chrome. Waaayyyyyy more hardcore.
Find a shop that does good detail work, and have them do all the little fine lines and accents, and it will really pop, imo.

Because I am just one sick car freak and love cars to the bone, the same passion that Kazunori and his child named GT have.

Somehow, Kazunori-dono created a fantastic micro-universe in which I can immerse myself in everything racing. As someone else posted, each Gran Turismo game is a work of art. I'm still in awe of GT4, and intend to put some miles in on it today, as I have yet to complete it. And oh my gosh, the cars... HUNDREDS of cars!

GT5 Prologue though... gee whiz. This thing is so advanced, such a quantum leap, that it doesn't seem like GT anymore, but some sort of reality simulator. Drop any arguments about physics, I've heard them ad nauseum. As a total package, Prologue brings together all the elements I want in a racing game. Very, very good physics, incredible graphics, and with my FFB Pro, a tangible racing experience. You simply don't get such a combination in any other game. There's a certain atmosphere in every GT game that's hard to describe... like the first spring shower. A delicious sense of richness and vitality.

Well, I do have one want: a racing modification shop with bodykits, paint and decaling. Forza 2 comes close, but the overbearing oversteering, poor camera angles, horrible tire sounds, the WORST music I've ever heard in a game, iffy car models, limited cars and tracks, and sucky replays, not to leave out the bugs which finally hit my last nerve, and the comparison is pretty thin. Especially since Turn 10 basically copied every aspect of GT in creating their game, something Microsoft does in everything they do. If Kazand the lads would just add in that racing modification that Forza offers, Gran Turismo would be perfect, and I wouldn't have a reason to touch another racing game.

Definitely the street vehicles. I mean I can go out for a short drive and see at least 3 or 4 cars that you can drive in GT. As far as I'm concerned if you get rid of the street cars you kill GT.

Of course I love tuning and the simulation of it and all that.

I'd like it a lot more if I hadn't lost my copy of GT4. I do enjoy the series in general because of the sheer amount of cars and tracks available. It absolutely murders any other PS2 racer as far as that is concerned. If only I'd lost Enthusia and not GT4..

-> I also love GT because unlike all driving games; GT has that certain respect on older cars that was not seen on games before hand. Would ever see a Ford Model T or older Alfa Romeo's on Forza? Nope.

You get to drive some of the more beautiful and fastest cars in the world!

I just wish they had Lambos

I started into Gran Turismo 1 when I was looking for my first vehicle. The game played just like I was shopping for a car, then I could test drive it.

I fell in love immediately. I still remember when I first found the wheel shop. That game blew away any ideas I had about what makes a good racing game.

because it's as close to the real thing as you can get
if i was on a desert island give me a ps3, hd tv, gt5, logitech force feedback steering wheel, internet connection and a generator with an endless supply of fuel absolute heavan!!!
