Will GT6 have Porsche in it?

Since the information that has been release says GT6 will feature again all cars from GT5 and that the game will only have about 200-300 new cars... and given the fact that PD will probably use those slots on japanese cars... and of course, the fact that they apparently don't know about a company called Gemballa or that RUF is still making new models...

No... no Porsche for GT6...

Actually, that's hasn't been proven true so far. A lot of the confirmed cars so far are European and American and there's only been 2-3 japanese cars comfirmed. 5-7 if you count the GT-Academy cars.

Staying on subject, maybe it would be easier to just get a license for the tuner porsches. I'm just assuming this based on games such as Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition that had tuned porsches in the past.

PD got the RUF licence because RUF legally 'build' their own cars so are the manufacturers. Legally an RUF is not a Porsche. However I presume that for most other tuners this is not the case, so you would still need a Porsche licence.

It is really unfortunate for the kind of game GT is that Porsche is absent. Porsche cars are popular throughout motorsport, from the bottom up and have usually been very successful. Porsche being absent means that there are gaping holes in the lineup. They have GT4,GT3 and GT1 cars, Group C cars, LMP cars (from next season), Group 5 and 6 cars, classic LeMans cars Rally cars and Formula One cars for starters.

Why Porsche allows their cars to appear in poor games like Need For Speed Shift and not Gran Turismo is beyond me. Surely they have some say in their own licence dealings?

No, they gave all power to EA.

If PD and EA could work out a deal for the right price, PD could make that money up real quick as DLC, as almost everyone with GT6 would pay good money for a nice Porsche DLC pack.

I'm already aware of just everything you just said. I know that a license from porsche would still be required. When I said it would be easier to get a tuner porsche license for GT, I meant that maybe EA would charge less for a Porsche sublicense if Polyphony Digital went for just licensing Porsche tuners instead.

I love that idea. 👍

Would you really want to give your competitor's increased revenues? Polyphony is not in the business to make EA money.

PD needs to update agreements with RUF for rights to all models and wait until Porsche becomes available again.

Drive Club =/= Gran Turismo so I don't see how that's relevent. We've heard or seen nothing to suggest the two devs will be sharing car models.

If I was PD, I would do things that I wouldn't normally do to make my fans happy, after the GT5 letdown.

It really doesn't matter either way to me. I am one of the guys that thinks RUF is fine. I know it is not a Porsche, but to me, it is close enough (they do get their bodies from Porsche without a VIN). It would be nice to have the real thing, but I am not a big Porsche guy, so it really doesn't matter to me. However, with Porsche's history, they should be in the game.

Evolution is quite a little far away from P.D too. Although this doesn't necessarily mean they cannot meet though.

Let them dream Samus, let them dream........ My hopes for new Rufs are lower than my hopes for new Caddilacs though.

We certainly could and should get new RUFs, I'm just not seeing how new RUFs being in Drive Club is relevent to the chances. Project CARS has/will have new RUFs but that's not relevent either.

Yeah who's saying P.D couldn't surprise us??? We should have had more new Rufs since GT4 (It was 2004!). Atleast for GT6 that may (I doubt it) change. Unless P.D. is really clever.

Also what makes you guys think that Sony goes out and gets the license for their dev groups? It's akin to saying that due to FM4 having newer Rufs, they'll be open to easily give PD new ones for GT6.

Sadly this is another optimistic outlook, waiting is the best thing.

Your signature is priceless 👍

Everyone these days has Ruf. Why hasn't P.D. put it's old (Gran Turismo 2) license to good use since Gran Turismo 4? Now everyone has all sorts of new Rufs (Even Forza).

Although the question isn't who did it first. Everyone should have these cars. They're a great alternative to shelling out money to Evilectronic Arts (EA).

Still can't replace the old and good Porsches like the 917, the 356 and the older 911s.

Not every day someone takes notice to them.

I wish we would get the 908, and 936 and the 917 as well even the 911 GT1 would be awesome too. Maybe one day it will happen. But yeah, Rufs shouldn't be hard and with the new "supposed" tire and suspension model the cars might be more fun to drive than previous games.

RUF certainly seems "easy" to license considering how many games have them (Pretty much any racing game not made by EA that wants Porsches but can't have them) so I'd expect at least one new model in GT6.

You're welcome. I want to try out all the old and new Porsches in the glorious new physics that GT6 has. Too bad it's most likely not gonna happen.

Samus: Yes it is easy to get Ruf and I just said that every racing game these days has Ruf. I'm baffled that P.D hasn't done anything with it since Gran Turismo 4.

It doesn't make any sense at all if they don't go for RUF. We know they are available, but they didn't grab them at GT5. I believe that if they got 5-6 RUFs it would be a good solution until Porsche is available.

Uh, PD has had RUF cars since GT2 and they were in GT5 (just not premium).

I've been kind of wondering lately how Driving Emotion Type S managed to get the two Porsches that it had (996 GT3 and 986 Boxster) just a bit before GT3 came out, but after EA had released Porsche Unleashed. And the two Ferraris it had for that matter, even though that licence was off limits at the time too supposedly.

They made an offer EA couldn't refuse?

What puzzles me though is how even Turn 10 can't get Porsche despite having abit of a bargaining chip in the form of the Ferrari license for Xbox and PC (or so I think).

We are talking about premium quality. Those looked terrible and I am sure their handling data would not have been as detailed as it can be now.

Wait, another driving game with porsches in it from the early 2000s? Okay, I'm going to check it out.

EDIT: Yeah, I don't think I'm going to play it. Apparently, the controls of Driving Emotion are bad.

And cockpit view.

But don't bother looking it up. It's an alright game with decent enough physics let down by absolutely awful controls.

Yeah, and the track selection is limited too. I do like the cockpit view though, they did a good job with that. Well, I'll only buy it if I find it at a gamestop for 1 or 2 dollars.

Exactly, Porsche can't be bothered by trivial things and play by whatever rules they want. They don't have a strict line of how many cars are produced over a year and find it a bit funny other supercar groups do. Remember Porsche seem to have an over confidence (some would call ego)

Probably also why they haven't strayed from the elongated VW Bug bodylines for 60+ years.
