No, as others have said, I've waited long enough as it is so a bit longer won't matter too much. If there is a delay, any bugs which show up will hopefully be fixed on top of which my japanese skills are non-existant. Personally, given the long wait time, I don't foresee too much of a gap between release dates.

I like a lot of people it seems will be waiting for it to be released in Australia. :)

Nah, I'm not that fussed about waiting a bit longer. I usually make a very slow progression through a GT game anyway, taking several months to get anywhere. I like to take my time, and I'd rather do so with a game I can fully explore. I wouldn't be able to get the same out of a JP version. Also, if it's anything like previous editions, the game might be a bit more balanced. Like how some license tests or missions that were too easy in the NTSC were harder in the PAL and vice versa. PAL Mission 34 was challenging enough for me. :)

I have the advantages of living in Japan and having a reasonable level of Japanese skill. I'd rather play it in English, so if the English release is close then I'll probably just wait. But if it's more than a month or so I'll probably get a JP copy and just trade it in when the EN one comes out.

I dont think i will import it... My GT4 Japan Version is should arrive next week. Why japan? Because of compatibility issues with the US-version (Region Code). I don't like the PAL version...

I will definatley get Japans version imported. I did so with GT5p and i will do so with GT5. I actually bought GT5p 3 times lol. The first one ofcourse was the japanese version, the second was the Download to share it with friends, but that didnt work, and i got the disc version last. I love GT this much, but i dont consider myself a super hardcore fan though. However the difference in language can be overcomed, i didnt mind it in gt5p, and i will just search youtube videos of it for help anyways. I CANT WAIT ANY LONGER!
BTW GT5p was my first imported game, I also imported the white DS3 controller it, it was cool having a game and a colored controller that not many had at the time ;-)

I've already reserved a copy at my local gaming shop. But I'd be more than happy to order a copy from anywhere that speaks english.

I brought the NTSC/J (and arguably better-looking and better packaged) version of GT4 and I'll definitely be getting my hands on the Japanese copy of GT5, should they not release on the same date.

Which to me is beyond stupid considering the PS3 is region-less.

I bought the Japanese GT5P (then local when it came out) because it was just a Prologue, GT5 though I want the full english experience and will wait for it while avoiding spoilers in this forum.

but lets hope we wont have to wait any longer. :0

No I'll definitely wait.
God of War III and Final Fantasy XIII come out on March that month anyway :)

Exactly. Many great games come in the Autumn season. If FF13 turns out to be as big as FF12 then I will probably buy GT5 months after the release date.

I'd say yes because I've never had really much issues playing Japanese games like GT4/Enthusia etc. Actually I do not understand Japanese but when I see some certain words I understand them (I've encountered many before). Even though there will be some translation and such. :dopey:

Oh, one more thing .. I'm pretty sure the Japanese version will have MOTC theme song :)

Sometimes it's worth getting imported copy of GT5:).
While I can play it earlier than other English countries, I can learn some Japanese words by using Internet translator:D.

No. It will be more expensive and in a language I can not understand all that well. I'd rather just wait till it is released here in the states because I can't imagine it will be all that long after the Japan release.

I'v waited this long, so i'll wait that while longer! Not that it'll be easy, i just hope it's not as much as three months or even two, time will tell. I know i can hardly wait much longer to do those first few laps of the Nurburgring...good times!

I hope for your sake then, that the Japanese version is better looking and better packaged. Not that the packaging of a game has ever had any influence at all in my purchase decisions before...

As for release dates - what do you consider the same date? Taken literally, I doubt that's going to happen. Even if the game itself was completely finished and regionalised (language, music, packaging etc.), the logistics of producing that number of copies for the entire global GT fan population...no chance. At best we'll get a gap of a couple of weeks, and more likely, a couple of months in the case of Europe. That's fine...I'd rather wait than fumble through Japanese menus. Even if the US got it a week after Japan, and Europe had to wait another two months or more, I'd still wait.

I've been waiting 2+ years for GT5, and I don't want to eventually get it then spend months learning what everything means!!

This does mean that there will be spoliers all over the net too... so I'll have to stay offline once JP GT5 arrives LOL

I'll buy it even it is released only in somali language...

GT isn't about translating menus, it's about driving......

If it will take up to Fall 2010 or worse Dec 2010 for Sony to bank on its name next December , I will import that game. But if it is just 1 month I'll wait for the USA version. Two or 3 months is not acceptable, i will import the Japanese version. For gamers who are from EU, Guys I suggest import the game since EU is always disregarded since the time of Ps1 to Ps2. EU version is always launch so late. Worse Eu version might come out Early 2011. By that time the hype is gone and we already saw Ps4 and xbox 720 teasers by E3 2010 ( a big possibility from all the rumor, that's why I hate Ps4 or next gen news because it kills the hype for games for next year and Ps3 has so much power left and ps3 is just starting to take its stride)

By the way since the Japanese launch is March I think by early February the games development is already finish. I think Mid February Launch for EU and USA is feasible. Maybe for the first time , PD must show some love to EU and USA , especially EU who has a lot of GT fans. PD I hope they consider a February launch for EU and USA.

Although i voted I'd wait for it to be released in my region, I lie. Because it'll most likely never be released in my reigon so i have to import it from the U.S. But well, I'll wait until its released in the U.S so someone brings me the game.

If your from Eu region thats right, import the game. EU will always suffer from launch schedules. Those from EU, import the game than wait for a very late 2010 or early 2011 launch.

I've never once stated that was the reason I purchased the Japanese version, and despite what you may think a lot of the menus and what have you were still in English; it wasn't like learning Braille or something.

I'm actually from South America, and to show you how hard is getting that stuff here, GT5P costs around US$60 and a PS3 Slim costs around US$550. Compare that to the US$25 for GT5P in the U.S and the US$300 for the PS3 :grumpy:.
