Hmm, should i get the Japanese version and have a reason to have Manami over every other day, orrrrr should i wait months for NA version, and not have Manami over. Hmmmm, what a hard decision.

If it can be obtained at a reasonable price, yes I would order it. I do hope it releases simultaneously worldwide after such a long wait for it.

No way. Considering a PS3 plus a game is expensive enough in here, I would not pay extra money for a game. Besides, I don't understand japanese, and thus I would have a rather hard time playing the game, not to mention frustrating. Plus, I'm a patient person.

Judging only from my experience with GT4, you won't have a hard time whatsoever. As I've said earlier there's still a great deal of the game in English, and that which isn't is self-explanatory. Like I said, judging only from my experience with the Japanese version of GT4.

...And the only thing frustrating is how much more expensive things seem. :P

If its gonna take more than a few weeks to come out here I'd consider importing it, if its a couple of months I think I will import it (depending on my financial situation and time commitment when it comes out, of course).

I had to say NO, I'll wait. As awesome as GT is, not being able to understand what I am doing/changing/setting (especially in Gran Turismo), would really take a lot of the fun out of it.
Aww crap, I just remembered, my brother took four years of japanese in high school, I bet he could help. Maybe I'll reconsider...

No I'll definitely wait.
God of War III and Final Fantasy XIII come out on March that month anyway :)

Same here, specially FFXIII (I can wait for GoW 3 to get cheaper... but FF and GT are 2 of my main series... but then White Knight Chronicles will also come out at the same time... and I want that too...), so a June/July release for Europe wouldn't be all that bad for me... so no I'm not importing it, will just wait for the Europe Release.

As I stated on the news article, yes, I'll probably import if it's a significant amount of time away. I can get over the language barrier thanks to GTP and I've been waiting too long for this as is.

Yes, but only if the US/EU date is still unknown or more than 30 days away.

I live in the USA.

So, if GT5 comes out in Japan with Standard, and LIMITED Edition, I will buy both of each, The standard one I will open and play, limited will stay intact. I will also later order the EURO version of limited edtion and USA 2 limited editions... So For me I will end up with 5 GT5 games.. 2 which are open.

Also, Kaz said it's up to MARKETING teams to deliver GT5 to Europe and N.America.. SO I bet PD is allready working on translation's. So there is no reason why GT5 will be months apart in each region. I do not think that there is any other good racing game coming out around March 2010.

I say no, because there's gonna be thousands of menus and text that you wouldn't able to read, plus the car history etc. (I like reading those:))

For me the Japanese version is a must ;D. I can understand a little bit of Japanese (have been studying it for more than 1 and 1/2 years now) so the language barrier won't be that much of an issue. Anyway I will also get the EU version as soon as it is going to be released. I did the same thing with GT5P and GT4 xD

No, because I'd have to learn Japanese to play it. And you can't learn Japanese for the Junior Cert...

Until this past summer (when I bought a PS2 off ebay and a second hand copy of NTSC GT4) I only ever played GT4 as a NTSC-J copy as I imported it and a NTSC-J PS2 when it came out (as I remember it came out in Japan months before it launched in NA). I suppose I'll recreate that experience with GT5.

My Japanese is basic at best, if anything worst than it was 5 years ago.

I also expect to import a PAL copy given (I assume) the servers for online racing will work like GT5P (I hope better) and most races, sans World Events (=lag) will be region locked.

I'll end up with 3 copies of the game.

Hm, maybe. I love imported games (it's kinda different and harder licenses like in GT4 Prologue), especially Ryu Ga Gotoku (Yakuza) Kenzan!.

I will be waiting also(MAYBE). What i really want is a GT5 bundle, and hopefully there will be one coming to North America!!!

:grumpy:

No, to much kerfuffle for the import, and I'll need things in my own language as I have the patience of an NFS player... ooh, I went there, bought the T-shirt, and wore it around town for a few days.

No, I did that with GT5:P and I don't know what anything says. It was cool to have it way before most Americans but my lack of Japanese kind of ruins it.

if you really want because youre impatient then get a japanese-english dictionary and self teach yourself

I'll be importing, but not the Japanese version. As a US resident I'll be going for the EU/AUS version as most of the action and (<flame-bait-follows>) top drivers seem to be from those regions. Having the US version is frustrating because you can't access the replays from the other regions.

Of course PD could also make them cross-compatible .... but that seems like somewhat of a pipe dream.

If there is more than a months difference I will import.

Seeing as I will import my cars from GT PSP with the PAL version, getting the Japanese version will force me start off with the lower ranked cars which may heighten my game experience.
