  • Yes, but only if the US/EU date is still unknown or more than 30 days away.

  • No, I'll wait for it to be released in my own region.

Two things would make me wait:

1. Can't speak Japanese (or read it perhaps more importantly)
2. I have patience

oh and a third extra point - as a teacher I need to buy in a holiday - otherwise my career might get ruined! So if the releases are not timed for holidays I will have to wait longer :(

My first plan was to import game from Japan if GT5 is out in USA over a month period.
If lets say Games are released within one month, I will still import the Limited Edition copy from Japan regardless.. and never open it :D (same thing with EU and NA versions if they differ)

If it will take 2-3 months, import the game. For gamers from EU and other parts of the world there is no other choice but to import the Japanese version since it could be Dec 2010 or early 2011 for EU and other region. I think GT5 launch in March in japan will be the cause for the biggest import of ps3 games ever from Japan because of expected late launch for GT5 USA and EU and other regions

You are a broken record.

History since Ps1 to ps3 , EU is always so late and other regions and USA usually comes out 3-6 months late
It was said GT5 would be released around the same time frame in other regions, though. I don't remember the same being said for previous GTs. And who knows, maybe this time history wont repeat, there's nothing saying it has to.

Actually the longest delay has been 4.5 months (GT1) and the shortest and most recent being GT PSP which was 1 week earlier.

Excluding GT PSP and including only main GT releases (1-4 + 5P) there is an average delay of 2.85 months, excluding GT5P there is an average of 2.6 months delay.

Never have PAL/NTSC been 6+ months behind which Dec 2010 would make it 9 months...

PSp is different since it is not as complicated to develop compared to console games. And from the history of launching games especially Japanese companies, it usually takes 2-3 months for the USa version and the Europe is much later possibly 6 months sometimes even a year.

And guys you know the March schedule and April and May are fully book with other exclusives so expect a much later release. The only way we can get Gt5 earlier if they decide to launch USA and Eu version earlier than Japan , which is February, but that will never happen

I have already pointed out the time lines that GT's been released and that is EU included. Never has a GT been 6 months+ delay in Europe (once again GT1 was the longest at 4.5 months). in the 10+ years and all GT versions history. There in ZERO evidence that GT will release in EU around Dec 2010, yet you post you unfounded speculation in almost every post you make.

You can speculate this date if you wish, but thats all you post, it's like you're a salesman attempting to sell it to everyone.

As for GT PSP, I left that out of the averages.

but guys check the gaming calendar, a lot of games will come out from March to May 2010, mostly exclusives. That is why it is going to be complicated for Sony and PD to release the game as early as possible. As for the December 2010, from a business stand point that is the most profitable way for Sony to launch the game because its Christmas. Maybe in Europe its Christmas and in NA , it will be Fall 2010

As I said before, pure speculation on your behalf with no evidence but your opinion.

just check the gaming calender from march to may and you will see it is fully booked. PD and Sony wants to profit from this game without any competition so it will land at earliest in June 2010, or much later December 2010. I expect to see this game on E3 2010.

For a game on a one year or two year cycle competing with other games, I would agree, but seeing as though this is Gran Turismo, and people have been waiting years for it, it actually makes it easier for SONY. They can pretty much release it whenever they want, and people will flock to buy it, regardless of whatever else is being released at the time. Sure, they want to do all they can to not hit sales of other potential big games, but that's not a huge dilema for them.

So you reckon Christmas 2010 for EU?! Let's revisit this thread in a year then and see if you were right. I suspect not!

ok, what ever lol. i think this game goes for the 18 and older crowd, that being sead. spring 2010 will be very good release date as we "ADULTS" get paid every month. seeing a 2011 release is not smart at all seeing as the sead they may release when they want. just cause its a holiday season in DEC. does not make it a good idea. and to not release it just cuase there's a gang of games in a given month is not good either. we as adult dont need to buy things right when they come out. we can wait a day or two or maybe even a month. hell when the S.ED comes to Pre-Order why not do that if thats your thing. hell the dang S.ED may not have any good treats for us at all. LoL i need content not vedio or other friv. oh and no i will not import from japan cause i think that the series starting with GT5 is rather dumbed down and not as feature rich as the past GT Games as far as Buying and upgrading and such. i am a driver and love to drive (whoooooaaa Momma I Love To Drive) but damn GT5 could have been looking a bit better in my eyes.

With still no news regarding a GT5 EU/US release date, this is once again looking like a case of stringing everyone along until the last possible moment before delivering the bad news.

Claims of waiting for the SCEE/SCEA marketing departments runs rather shallow, history tells us lack of GT5 news tends to be a bad sign. At this stage what possible reason is there to delay an announcement, my theory is SCEE/SCEA are keeping quiet in order to not put a dampener on Christmas PS3 sales, many of which will be in anticipation of a EU/US Q1 GT5 release.

What?

I'm in two minds about this.

I will definately import if the wait for an eu release seems too far away. Can't put a specific time limit on it. I'd have to wait until an eu/us release date is announced and see if it's worth it.

If for some reason it's released in the US shortly after the japanese release date but there's a wait of 3 weeks or more for the EU release date, then I will wait for the american release.

The last time I imported a game from America, it took 5 days to get here, so there's no point in waiting more than a few weeks for an eu release.

I'd still consider importing a japanese copy, but only if the wait seems like torture at the time.

The last game I imported was metal gear solid 3 from the US. There was a gap of about 6 months between the US and EU release dates, and since it was a story driven game, I didn't want it to be spoiled on the internet for me... That was quite an expensive import though. I had to buy a US PS2 and a mains power converter bigger than a brick.

Oh I'll be waiting, seems a touch stupid to suffer through it in a language I don't understand just to get it it maybe a month earlier, considering how long have waited anyhoo!!

No. I'm not spending my money on a product in which I don't understand what the little symbols mean.

I especially won't be buying 2 different versions of the same game.

+1:tup: Pay the game twice to have it a bit earlier.

But If I had the money then I would certainely do it.

No, though every time there is some big news I get tempted.

Youtube videos will keep me going until its released whenever

If the latest indications of a Q4 2010 release turn out to be true what are you going to do then? Waiting 8 months is a bit tough especially when you know it's out there. On the other hand getting it twice is what Sony are probably aiming for. I guess we will know for sure when we see if they have locked the game regionally or not. If not it will be clear that sony are cheap bastards and then my money might go to someone not playing dirty tricks.
