I have no interest in buying a same game twice, even though it's GT5. I have waited long enough to wait some more. But I am going to suck every piece of info of the Japanese release :D

Sony do not usually announce that far in advance regards GT release dates particulary for UK or USA regions. Quite often Japan does get announcements before hand.

I remember the announcement for GT5 Prologue for UK/Europe with the additional cars and track was only announced about 2 weeks prior to it being in shops/psn in March 2008.

As yet for all we know the release of GT5 could be around or even shortly before the Japan Release of "March" Everyone seems to be assuming its going to be months after. What we have at the moment in "March" isnt even a committed date but a pressumed time period.

It would be very Poly Digital Esq of more news of GT full date announcements to be announced at the upcoming car shows and I agree a tie in with Merc Benz the cover car and a release date announcement for Europe at least being a possibility but by no means guranteed.

E3 Sony presentation last year they showed a video of upcoming games which included GT5 and hosted by Jack Tretton the CEO of Sony Entertainment USA specifically said that all the games shown on the video would be released within the fiscal year which if he sticks to his word is by March 2010.

Id say that ultimately GT5's release is down to him and other country CEOs involved at Sony.

Sony have a great Spring line-up of games coming along with this whole 3DTV thing which PS3 seems to be a huge part of as well. So Surely GT5 is a March/April expected titles and tbh I dont see May/June/July a good time period for releasing and never usually is a busy release window.

I'm probably going for the HK release. Almost Identical timing to Japan and also since HK was a former British Colony the game will be Chinese/English Option (Assumption Though~~~Guessing from other HK PS3 games). Although the manuals will be in Chinese, which is okay despite my poor Chinese reading skills.

I've had a thought and sorry if this has already been mentioned but in an interview I saw a Sony rep announced that Sony 3D TV's and PS3 Firmware to use 3D will come out in the summer of 2010. If GT5 is available in 3D dosen't that meen it will be out before summer seeing as Sony will want to make 3D a success. Honestly think about it this would be the reason for no winter 2009 release date.

I'm baffled how people know for sure how long after the Japan release the US/EU will be. Your wishes unfortunately do not correlate with the stupid SONY tactics. KY said GT5 would come not long after GTPSP. Now we are hoping for a 6 months delay, not more.
I believe SONY are capable of releasing the game for us in Q4 2010. I truly hope I'm wrong.

Voltaic, they're just estimating the release date. All retailers and E-tailers are just estimating right now. Even Kazunori Yamauchi has said there's no US/EU release date set yet.

Every retailer has something different. At this point, I'm going to setup up a store and provide 3 different dates. I think that some places are working on the premise of a pessimistic forecast (maybe so as to not upset expecting customers or for their auditing), rather than others who are overly optimistic without actually having any supporting information, other than a Japanese release date.

I Voted no because I hate doing things twice if I can avoid it; I"ll wait. Plus I don't know Japanese :ouch:

OK, OK, that was close. I had already pulled out my nihontō, but you stopped me just in time.

I guess going back to my japanese lessons, just in case, while we wait for the official date won't be so bad.

Domo arigato guys!

I agree with that, anyway, for who was waitin´for 5 years 1-2 months is nothing IMO.

If I import GT5 jp spec, I hope the menus are like MGO ONLINE JP, are in the lenguage of your PS3, but I don´t mind to much with that TBH.

Regards.

Bloody cars, revving in a foreign language!

haha :) Poor analogy I guess...

My point was that if you're all about the full GT experience (the menus, the music, vehicle and race descriptions etc), playing in a foreign language will leave you a little frustrated. I guess I'm a little crazy... when I do finally get my hands on GT5, I want everything to be perfect - I wanna be well rested, well fed, have something comfortable to sit in and have nothing else to do but enjoy the game in all of it's glory (in English!)

No doubt though, if you're in it purely for the gameplay, importing makes sense.

By the time the game is released in Japan, we will know the other release dates. No doubt.

Sorry, just giving myself a laugh, though I understand what you mean. It will be a bit worse of a go this time, considering that they will have all that nice car info, like that found in GT PSP.

To bad Sony is nasty and made a preemptive strike on importers by delaying the Japanese version and maybe they will do a worldwide launch on the rumored Dec 2010, tarararan!!!!

Yep. I just want an English version of the game with English menus, English music, English engine sounds, and English packaging ;)

Been a massive fan since no.1 and am currently 50th and 26th(ish) on the drift records (yes im on the iphone app! woot)

Thing is november 2nd isnt too bad for me, I have a g25 with racing pod built out of mdf from this site (big props for the guy who uploaded the plans, can't remember who tho)

The reason why its not too bad for me - I have a broken left leg with 2 pins in after 3 blokes with balaclavas broke in n tried to rob me - obviously i wasnt going to go down without a fight n ended up with 3 bones in my ankle and lower leg broken. Currently im in an air cast after 3 months but I still have an piece of unfused bone and 2 pins in my leg to come out (the 10 little ones stay)

So all the while im healing I dont mind the wait, as going back to a controller is not an option lol Thing is with the lack of european release date I have a feeling that the game will ship at xmas time for us. (im in UK)

SO what do people think, do I wait for UK release or do i jump and get a US import of it? How many European people will be importing if the release date is more than a few days out?

I will be placing my pre-order next week for it I do like the look of the LE version, would be the first LE version I have ever bought of a game lol GT5 is a must I think.

SCEE have said "November" and will elobrate further shortly. Assuming they can release around the US date then it should be the 5th of November.

Sorry to hear about your condition

Eu will get it in the same time frame than us.
Wait a week and you can preorder it from a uk site.

Get well man

Yeah depends on the collectors edition. If they are different I'll get both. If they are the same then I'll just see what happens in terms of pre orders available.

Feel your pain... Some guy broke into my flat last night armed with a machete... I'm not injured, just a bit shaken. I'm in a good position as I'm emigrating this November to Canada... I haven't got the date set... Could really be any day in november... If gt5 is released here a few weeks before I go to canada, then I'm sure I'll pick a copy up for a quick shot then take it with me (as blu ray games are region free). But I could easily wait until I get to canada. If the wait is going to be substantial, then you could always import a copy. Just wait and see what the EU release date is, then decide.

Having said that, good luck with your recovery. Hope you're back to normal in no time.
