Hum, it looks like I am ordering it from Asia no matter what the language. More and more news and retailers are quoting 4th quarter 2010 US release.

It shouldn't matter how many other titles are being released this Winter/Fall, GT fans have been waiting long enough. Are you kidding me?! IF TRUE, shame on you Sony/PD. Shame on you.

I have a fair few games that i have got from hong Kong. They are all NTSC and are all region 3.
All are Engilish as well as most asian languages and all work on my UK PS3. Such as Need for Speed Pro street. The text on the bad is both english and Cantonese i think.

I think i shall import mine from Hong Kong again assuming release is same as Japan..
the japanese version will be reviewed and if the reviews say its presentable in engilish all is good.
With the PS3 everything is downloadable so i doubt content will be different just updates via DLC.

I'll probably import it, if EU release is too far away. I'll also buy the EU version once it's released.

That doesn't mean anything.

Sure, a game being released worldwide will have English. But if it's Japan first, then it will be Japanese, maybe Chinese.
But not English.

Let's just hope they don't lock it regionally, it would be a bummer.
It's a pity I hate the box so much. I could be playing forza3, instead of wasting my time on dreaming and searching for info on gt5.

For some games they release a English language version in Asia at the same time as Japan so there could be an English version available in March.

Definitely not. I would be buying it twice, and for what end? To play it a little earlier and the need to have a guide to struggle through menus? No thank you.

I can't imagine the game being pushed out to as far as Q4 2010. This game is guaranteed money for SCEA, and they know it; theoretically, it should be out the door as soon as feasible. It's not as if localization of a racing game is going to take a massive effort.

Off course it's not. Localization is not delaying the game a bit, SONY is. I'm sure the Japan version is ready by now. It's all the ****ed up SONY marketing.

I'm not importing.

Very confident of a March 2010 EU release date now... too much press investment to be otherwise.

March 25th stated by Amazon UK - week before the EU Easter Holidays.

Merc AMG SLS on the cover - obviously a big EU marketing tie up with MB, and SLS will be officially unvieled at Geneva - IN MARCH...

SONY have unexpectedly taken space at the Brussels show - almost exactly 2 months ahead of a March release date, and corresponding to phase 2 of the GT Academy, which is a marketing initiative...

All this talk of the EU being later than other regions is nonsense. Fair enough for the early iterations of GT, but EU has subsequently proved to be the leading market, as reflected by GT5P and GTPSP releases and exclusives etc.

NA lags behind as a marketplace, so if any market might be expected to be delayed in could be NA - and again, this is probably reflected in the way GT Academy is set up and SCEA comments before XMas 09.

Never really looked at it this way but what your saying makes sence. Some good points. Lets hope your right.

Wow you are a genious! 👍

Kazunori actually said that a American and European release date would be announced later not the actual release itself would. Like RattyMcClelland said I hope your right otherwise I'm going to be sat in front of my Tv playing Prologue, which isn't a bad thing by the way, whilst everyone is playing on the Nurburgring with an Enzo. :nervous:

I am thinking of importing from Japan but all my friends say to me: "wow you are such an idiot/a noob" etc. But when March comes I'll make my decision. :)

And they have got the PEGI rating sorted out for the EU version so it must be pretty soonish.

Simply after reading that post my guess is between end of March and begining of June. The wait is almost over. Just...............got to............. hang on.............. a little more.

Ill be importing the Japanese version as well as buying the version for my region once released. I have 2 PS3's one black and one white and plan to do LAN races with them. Just need to buy a new playseat and G25/27 for player 2.

I'm bringing the chips and beer :)

If the US version is released more than a couple months after the Japanese version, then I'll import it. I can only watch people playing GT5 for so long before I NEED to have it. :D

Indeed. I don't think I could wait more than one month.. My guess is that US and EU versions will be released a week at most after the JP version.

I'll be importing the JPN Version aswell :) I'm betting on GT5 Getting released a month before it arrives in the UK so a whole month will seem a lifetime knowing that I can literally play it!

I'm not importing anything. Why should I when it will be coming to my region(US) anyways not long after the JPN release. Sure it will be agonizing but I pretty sure I could wait that extra month or so for the US release. Of course I hope to have a PS3 by that time. Sure hope I can buy one out of my tax refund this year. ;)

If the release for EU isn´t extremly close to the japanese date i´ll be importing, will have to see what they announce for us here, one way or the other i´ll be playing it as soon as i can. :)

I would only think of importing if the NA and/or EU dates are way off the March date. My Japanese is a very rusty, but it could lead to some good and addictive, forced study.

The fact that the Japanese version of the GT5 TT Demo has 100% English and both UK and JP versions use MPH as speed by default in the US, it gives me hope that GT5 will read the region and adjust settings accordingly. If this is the case, I will 100% import. If not, I'm still likely to import. But, it depends on the flow of translation photos we get. I'll import just the regular version, when the US version comes out, I'll get whatever premium edition there is.

And they have got the PEGI rating sorted out for the EU version so it must be pretty soonish.
So, how does this PEGI system work? Is it possible to have a game rated, but not show on their searches until release? The reason I ask is this:

http://www.pegi.info/en/index/global_id/505/?searchString=gran+turismo

Gran Turismo 5 is not in that list. So, either it has not been rated yet and that graphic was just an assumed placeholder based on all previous versions, or, it has been registered but it doesn't show because it has not been released yet.

Importing if the EU or US version is more then a month away.

And as far as the EU release date goes.. sony still decides and takes care of the marketing tactics.
There are two games coming out in march in EU that are BIG allready.. god of war III and the new final fantasy game.
I dont see them putting GT5 on the shelves with these games as they would want to spread AAA titles a bit for more profit.
