No I won't import GT5. Why ?

First: it's in japanese.(And I don't know japanese )
Second: I don't want to pay more than what I would pay here in Canada.
Third: Even if I wanted to import it, it would be hard to convince my father to use his credit card online
Forth: I don't think that other regions will get the game months later. (Hopefully:))

I think that this pool need another choice:
"you'll buy if in Japanese version you can choice english language"

As much as I hate it, I'm gonna wait. Games are too expensive around here (Brazil) and even gran turismo is not worth the equivalent of 400$.

hmm, i will wait for a UK release however long that may take. and even if i do import i doubt i will have time to play it with exams and revisions and stuff...

I'll wait and do a PS3 + GT5 combo buy. 👍

The ONLY reason I want the PS3 is so I can continue my GT journey. Yes, paying $500+ for it is silly just to drive "virtual" cars around, but I did it when the PS2 + GT3 package came out and it was more than worth my money (7yrs of playtime between GT3 & GT4 on the PS2 > Cost) so I'll do the same this time around. :)

No, I thini I'll wait for this one. I imported GT5:P becuase it wasn't a fully fledged game, I actually went on to buy it again when it was released here and gave the NTSC version away. But to make sure I get the best GT5 experience I will want an English copy of GT5, I don't want to buy a full game twice and I'm patient enough to wait a few of months. Measuring the time in pay packets makes it seem a lot closer than it is ;).

It will be worth the wait just to have a proper american version. I don't want to have to deal with any language difference or anything like that. Plus I don't think it is worth buying two versions just to be able to play it a month or two earlier. As excited as I am, my wallet doesn't agree with that idea.

I understand the heritage and roots of Gran Turismo are very Japanese, but one simply can't ignore the fact that Gran Turismo is now an international franchise. It sells best in Europe, not Japan. So, with that in mind, I'd like to see a little appreciation for our global (but especially European) hunger with a short, if not non-existent, gap between the dates.

Would I wait? If we didn't have a date for Europe, or it was at least a month away and I am able to transfer my save files by the time it hits Japan, then no, I probably wouldn't.

I voted for the second option. Although I would only import it if the gap is more than 2 months.

I will be purchasing the Japanese version while waiting for the US / EU release, just like I did for GT5P. Moreover, it only takes a few days for the copy to reach from Japan to Singapore.

why the hell would I import it from japan if they're just going to do it for me?
now if they lost their marbles and decided not bring the title to the states, that would be an entirely different story.

I'll be waiting for it to release in my region, less hassle and a game designed for my culture (eg. car names, menu languages, the ability play against other Australians). Getting the JP version would be a waste of time and money for me.👍

Me too and getting the JP of prologue was a good idea at the time but trying to figure what i was doing/reading was a major pain in the butt. I won`t do it for GT5 though,i`d just rather wait it`s not worth the hassle. But i`ll be mighty 🤬 cranky if i have wait too long for it :banghead:

Yep, only if it's a long wait...but if there's new content, I might hold off. But if the wait is something like 6 months, I might even buy it again...

Okay those who are stubborn to wait up to fall 2010 or 2011 I respect your choice. But by that time the game is already obsolete and most gamers already lost interest because of new trends and also because of next gen console teasers next year and possible 2011 Ps4 and xbox 720 unveiling.

My goodness why can't they launch the EU and USA version February even if it is feasible. I think by January they have already finish the games development and just bug checks.

Yes, but only if the US/EU date is still unknown or more than 30 days away.

I live in the USA.

So, if GT5 comes out in Japan with Standard, and LIMITED Edition, I will buy both of each, The standard one I will open and play, limited will stay intact. I will also later order the EURO version of limited edtion and USA 2 limited editions... So For me I will end up with 5 GT5 games.. 2 which are open.

Also, Kaz said it's up to MARKETING teams to deliver GT5 to Europe and N.America.. SO I bet PD is allready working on translation's. So there is no reason why GT5 will be months apart in each region. I do not think that there is any other good racing game coming out around March 2010.

Of course Sony does not want to create conflicts with GOW3 and FF13 ( I think Ff13 launch is a M$ conspiracy to force PD and Sony not to launch Gt5 or if Sony launch Gt5 on march, Ff13 will disrupt its sales). And since Sony wants profit, whether we like it or not on a business standpoint, December 2010 is the best way for them to make a profit even if by that time the game is already obsolete by newer trends and next gen consoles.

But Let us all stay positive that GT5 will be launch February or at least just one month gap not 2-3 months or worse Fall 2010, or Dec 2010. Prayers will also help. I hope PD and Sony is listening to its fans. If they think Christmas 2010 is best for them to profit , well they are making a very big mistake and it will just cause a lot of backlash from GT and Sony fans. 5 years is to much already.

I think if the schedule for EU and NA sucks, this will cause the biggest import for games from Japan in the history.

I think playing the Japanese version months before the official PAL release will take away too much of the excitement from the game when it is released here. I'd rather wait for the version PD are intending to give us.

The language barrier is also an issue for me, even though I would love to learn Japanese.

I will wait. What is a couple more months after waiting this long?

Besides, each month I am a little closer to that nice HDTV I've been eyeing.

It's tempting, but I'll wait until it comes out in America. I think I'd have trouble with the Japanese menus and that sort of thing.

A few days ago, I said I'd wait. But I'm so determined to have the Moon Over The Castle theme playing at the start, and I'm afraid once again we'll be getting some group like Weezer. Besides, my brother married a Japanese woman, so I may just "borrow" her for an afternoon. :D

Yes... I think I'll import after all...

i would.
price is extremely low for a japanese imported game anyway :P (compared to the 100 $ i have to pay in the danish gaming stores here..)

But not if its less than 4-6 weeks. then i'd live.

I'm waiting for the US version to come out. Same thing like Ad Hoc Party, Japanese to me, is the most complicated language for me to understand. If it was in Spanish, Italian, or French, fine, but Japanese? Uhh...nope, I'll wait.
