I worked hard for the cars I got on the PSP, I will be transferring those and some of my credits to GT5.

I don't know where this "transfer from GT5P to GT5" thing came from. I just know that I first saw it in the Wikipedia article and removed it because there was no source cited.

I don't think there ever has been a source saying you can transfer cars from Prologue.

Sorry, I do not own or operate a PSP - which was the reason I picked "Just GT5P". All I need is a tutorial on how to do that.

I've got a question:

Will I be able to take a game save from the internet and apply it to GT5 (like I did in Prologue)?

If after 30 hours of game play I decide I want all the cars unlocked or something I might want to skip to the finish. A lot of people will play it all the way through but it sounds like a lot of work to me.

Like someone said, it scares me that I could be 30 hours in and download a save (that overrides my save) and because the game's ID locked, I lose everything.

So I need to figure this out before i download one. I have time to figure it out though.

I was originally planning on doing so, but after being harshly reminded for the second time that GTPSP saves are ID locked, I'm going to just say screw it and sell my copy of GTPSP instead of bothering to try and build back up any save data. Its not worth my time to start the game from scratch a third time, and I'd make better use of the game selling it and putting the money towards GT5.

I wonder if you can use a downloaded game save for the GT on PSP and pop it on a USB and transfer it for use with GT5 without actually involving a PSP in the process?

I will definitely use my GT5P credits if I can...my first car in GT4 was a e46 M3 thanks to transferring credits from GT3 :D

I voted for misspelled 'neither.' I want to start from the bottom. I'd like to hopefully race a kart until I can find a 1982 Audi Quattro in the used lot (depending on how long it takes).

In the PSP version there is an option in the option menu for 'data transfer', and considering it needs a USB connection (it says on-screen) it must be to transfer to GT5.
Because of this I don't think you'll be able to transfer from a USB. You'll need the game, a PSP and memory card.

Edit:
I do wonder how my Au Fords are going to transfer seeing as they aren't on the official car list :(

I'll have two PSN ID's

One will have everything I can Transfer from GT5P so I can Use the Cars and Some Money to buy Cars for Testing on Tracks and Hopefully go Online with as i've never ever been Online with any GT Series Game

The Other will be a Scratch Start for GT5 , 20,000 Credits is what they give you so i'll find the best Starting Car for that then do Play the Game as I get through the Licences and Race Events

I think it will be best to start from scratch on GT5 myself, we might have to wait a long time for the next version of the game, so why try rushing things lol

I'm going to start completely from the beginning. I don't like the idea of transferring in things from my other games just so I can get a head start on things. No thank you. I will start at the bottom and work up.

I was thinking the same thing as i wanted to see if they got them right this time. Plus i own a FPV so I want to use one in the game.

I'll wait to see just how much will transfer. I don't want 40 F2007s to start. But if it's just a few cars and a few thousand credits, probably yes. I am anxious to see how certain cars handle in the new physics so just to drive the Ford GT as soon as possible I will do it. But I won't "cheat" myself by using the transferred cars to progress in the game before I could afford them anyway.

But I just might not be able to resist using transferred credits to buy a 458 Italia if it becomes available before I can afford it. :)

I wish RYBAK.D could chime in on the whole GT5P $$$/car transfer.
He could just DL the save from GFAQS if he doesn't have one and see what pops up.

This +1

I'm surprised it still hasn't been confirmed either way!

I will transfer the

BMW Concept M5 '04
FPV F6 Typhoon '04
FPV GT '04
Peugeot 406 3.0 V6 Coupe '98
Prtomotors SPIRRA 4.6 V8 '04

because the Gran Turismo 5 doesn't have this cars....

I won't unless they only appear in arcade mode, I would rather not start with a garage full of very fast cars which make the game easier than it needs to be. Ironcially, I will be starting the game by trying to gold the liscence tests, which may mean I will be starting the game with quite a selection of cars anyway. :boggled:

Confused - Is it this

Or This?

When / where did the new info regarding inability of GT5P transfer come from?

From the guy with the game who said only GTPSP cars transfer over to GT5. This was revealed today.

I just saw his post about that. What a bunch of arse, I was happy the transferred cars were only going into arcade but not including GT5P makes no sense. Bugger it, I probably won't be using arcade much anyway.

All in all, I'm not too cut up about this, although I can see why others might. I don't see why they aren't just arcade mode unlocks.

It won't affect me massively but it does mean I've been wasting my time recently collecting different colour cars so the paint would be available to spray other cars...you know what they say about assumptions!

It seems the biggest question of them all is not whether we want to transfer our cars but what would happen if we did. It is still a mysterious as to whether we will be having 2 garages or just one. But another question that links to that is whether were going to be able to customize cars for both garages or just one. Hope we find out soon.

Have you never played a Gran Turismo game before? :)

There is always 1 garage. You keep the cars you buy and modify in the GT mode in that garage.
In GT mode you can only drive the cars in your garage.

In Arcade mode, however, you can access the cars from your garage (for single-races, time-trials, split-screen, etc), but you also get a selection of unmodified cars that you can drive. This is not a garage.

Normally you would unlock these cars via progression through the races in Arcade mode. In previous titles you'd unlock tracks, also.
If you transfer from GTPSP you will simply unlock the cars that would require a bit of grinding to unlock in arcade mode.
