Neither. I've got just about all the cars in Prologue and transferring them would take away a large amount of the "working towards a goal" that I want to enjoy in GT5. Besides, if the first set of races are designed to be challenging with the slowest cars, using my Prologue cars would make a joke out of them.
 
I've been tempted several times to buy Prologue simply so I can start earning money, licenses, etc. But I keep telling myself no for a couple of reasons. One, I want to start GT5 from scratch, moving your way up is most of the fun. Two; why would I spend $30 on something when its big brother is what appears to be about 3 weeks away?
 
Has Sony confirmed that you will be able to transfer GT5P data to GT5 or are people here assuming that we will have that option. I've heard that GT5 PSP owners will have that option. But never for GT5P, am I missing something?
 
I didnt even know you could transfer it over, that's pretty cool. I havent even played prologue, I always skip the prologue games because it kind of ruins my excitement for the full game. I like to play the full game for the very first time without any experience playing any demos.
 
I understand and respect the people who say they will not transfer anything. I however will transfer both. I have a 10 year old son who I will let play GT5 in arcade mode only so I want him to have multiple cars to chose from to keep him entertained and hopefully be a GT fan in the future. I however will start the A and B Spec modes at the beginning just like those who will not transfer anything. I don't see how transferring the cars will ruin the "start at the beginning" feeling in the A and B Spec modes.
 
I'm gonna start from the beginning, that seems like the most logical progression, and the way the game was intended. I don't need the help ;)
 
I wish RYBAK.D could chime in on the whole GT5P $$$/car transfer.
He could just DL the save from GFAQS if he doesn't have one and see what pops up.
 
How will transferring the data ruin the game? All transferred data goes to Arcade mode, NOT GT mode.

If my friends ever want to play GT with me it has to be through arcade mode, so giving them the choice to choose from more than cars I have bought in GT5 seems logical.
 
I am transferring everything I can from GT5P. I have all the cars and max credits.

The first thing I want to do in GT5 is go for a blast down Le Mans (assuming its not locked until later) in some of the fastest cars from GT5P.

If the career mode makes you start from scratch then thats fine by me.
 
I am transferring all of my cars. It only goes to Arcade mode, which means I drive cars that I'm already familiar with, to get used the new physics. Either way, We have to start from scratch. Even the dlc cars are only put into Arcade mode, however the paint schemes may be unlocked in Sim mode, not sure.
 
I preordered GT5 eng and chi version (asia) from hmv.hk. I have gtpsp eur version, will it be able to be transferred and i also have gt5p jp version. Only arcade mode for dlc plus transfer data? Hmv hk has 5 dlc cars and apex book for standard price.
 
Damn right I am, been playing since the first day GT1 came out and see no reason not to. I wasted money on GT5P so i'm rolling it over even if their only available in arcade mode.

Since we already know that transfered cars (or what data?) can only be used in arcade mode in GT5, i'll definetly do it.
In carrer mode i will earn crd's step by step, but in arcade mode why should i wait ?
I've spend over 1,5 year to buy every single car in GT5:P and i'm still having fun with them :)

I'd like to takie my CZ06 / tuned for a quick spin on Nurburgring !!

Well from what I understand the Arcade mode has it's own garage, and the career has it's own garage, so essentially yes, 2 garages.
However people will spend most time in GT mode (as that's the only way to make money and buy cars) so the 'second' garage really is ignored.

If I remember correctly GT4 had a separate garage for arcade mode with a few (200ish) select cars and then you could use your own cars that you bought in GT mode from a separate menu.

I believe money won't be transferable, however don't quote me on that :sly:
100,000 Cr was transferable for GT3 to GT4 so I don't know:confused:

The point of buying them again is to use them in GT mode (along with arcade), as the cars you get in arcade (through transfer) aren't going to be from GT5 but other GT games.
Basically it puts everyone on equal footing and they have to play the game from the start i.e. cheap car to better car etc.
Also it's fun to buy cars in GT, especially if you have to work to get them :)

Wait a minute. Who said that you can transfer GT5 Prologue garage to GT5 garage? And who said that you can only use transferred cars (from GT PSP garage) in Arcade modes?????

According to japanese Gran Turismo official site, you can transfer your GT PSP data to GT5 data. But it never mentions any word about "GT5P data transfer". The offcial site doesn't mention that you can only use these cars in Arcade mode. So how do you confirm the above information about "arcade mode only" or "GT5P data transfer"???
