The only thing I'd transfer would be the license tests. Those have always bored me to death and I'm almost completely sure that those will still be the same old selves. Naturally, first I'd drive them through and if I had started the game all over again I'd simply transfer the data.
I just doubt that that's an option xP .

Whatever your viewpoint regarding licence tests, and whether or not you wish to transfer them, maybe it's worth pointing out there are no licence tests in Prologue, at least not the last time I checked.................

Edit, I clearly missed the GT-PSP option, those may indeed contain licence tests ( I don't know ).

Frankly, I voted for transferring no data, but since I don't have much time to play, I'll probably transfer some cars whenever I need cash, I'll play each event only once at first, then maybe I can finish the GT mode someday. ;)

I also want to have all cars in my garage, my GT5P Ferrari collection will have to pay for that.

I wonder if we can transfer only selected cars from GT PSP or does it have to be the entire garage?

I hope to aqquire all the cars on GT5 but thats going to be a mammoth task. Also this time around I will have to fight off the temptation of racing online when intially I should be aqquiring credits. This is what I mean by GT5 being different. The days of only aqquiring licences and playing GT mode are long gone.

Speaking of which I wonder if GT mode will be online. For example I wonder if there will be leaderboards for the licence tests? Will there be leaderboards for the GT mode? One of the best features of Forza 2 career mode was leaderboards for each event.

Agree to some extend, although credits can also be aquired online like Prologue has shown us, whether people want to play it the traditional way or online most of the time ( or some combination ) the online part at least offers the chance to aquire credits without resorting to the same, eventually boring, events time and again.:)

I would bet in transfer the entire garage, my guess is that when you boot up the game for the first time, it detects your GT5P save and suggests you to import, classic ;). If that's so, I'll promptly sell all the cars I've got from GT5P. I want to start from scratch, but I don't want to keep winning the same races over and over again to buy cars and parts. That's the reason to import and sell the cars to most of the players in my opinion.

It's not like it's even a choice though. It's completely trivial to have an account stocked with every car you have from GT5P and GTPSP, and another that is "untainted".

I want an account loaded with cars for playing online. I want the freedom to choose what I race there.

I want a blank account for single player. I want to work my way through the campaign mode as it was designed.

But I can have both, so no problem!

I've been thinking about it lately. I've got maybe.... around 4 to 5 million credits worth of cars in my GT5P garage. (1 F2007 and around 2 of every car except for F2007)

I'm making 2 profiles. 1 as a cash profile- get as much money as possible, and test good cars on the Nurburgring, for loads of fun. Plus, it allows my dad to do whatever he wants on that profile, so he'll be happy.

The other profile as a no-cheat profile. Fresh start, begin with Sunday cup-like cars, then gradually get up there to beat every region gaining as much A-spec points possible (hopefully they'll be in there)

It'll be a lot of fun. 👍

Well said. I think i'll do the same, it sounds like a brilliant idea, 1 profile for you, and 1 for when your mates come over. Even if your mates have never played the GT series before, they ought to like having nigh on every car in the game.
Then there's the question of being "that guy"...

I understand how some could think it could "Ruin" the experience, But (If you can transfer(from Prologue), which we dont know) 50 cars from prologue, doesn't seem like a whole lot of the game (1000 cars), so Yes I would.
But If I had all 800, maybe even 5/600 cars of gt psp, I Would Certainly not.

Kaz also mentioned that He is trying to focus on making it easier to buy cars (easier to obtain more cars) and If this actually happens, than I wouldn't even think of the gt psp transfer.

I would love If you could transfer it whenever you want, for example, After I (Basically) Finish the game, I can transfer all my cars at that time, So I can have a headstart to collecting all the cars. I Hope We can..
But than again, We dont even know if we can transfer from gt.5.prologue yet at all..

Well, I think I have no time to earn money from scratch, so I have to transfer the cars from GT5P to GT5. I have to admit that it ruins the experience of GT5, but time is not on my side:( Cherish your school days or leisure time if you have them!

I guess earning money online is funnier than earning money in repeated races with computers, like earning money in GT5P online to buy all cars.

I voted to transfer on both. Whether I will or not depends. With GT4 I did the transfer for credits and bronze licenses but the first thing I did was to gold those licenses anyways.

As for GT5; I will not want to spoil the experience of ruining a game from scratch eg using an FI in the first race that has no restrictions, but then I do not want to spend time grinding just to get a car for a particular race. So if/when I import my PSP garage it will either be to save cash and grinding or, more likely, to give me better options for online play.

After waiting c5 years from GT4 to GT5, I will make sure that I savour GT5 rather than rush through everything, and the transfer capability will be a nice option to use at some point.

Most people who don't have so much time to play GT may do so, yeah as you say, it means that they ruin the experience of GT5 if they have cars they earned in GT5P :(

What I'm going to do when I get gt5 is to make 2 acounts.
On my lbsf1 acount I will play the game through starting with nothing.
On my Gtp_lbsf1 I will transfer my cars and money from gt5p and gtpsp this will mean that I can play the wrs and online on that acount.

Hm, that way may also be worth trying. We can feel how the game is by the number of cars we have in the game, and how much money we have from the start. Or if we don't have either of them, we'll be able to enjoy playing in a different way from starting the game with plenty of cars and money to buy new ones, or spend on other things. :)

That is a very good idea which I may do myself.

Speaking of which a friend of mine won't have as much time to play GT5 as I will have. So could this friend of mine make a copy of my gamesave? I know you could with GT5P because we have already done this. However I heard you cannot do this anymore because of the trophy system. I will add my friend won't be bothered about the trophies.

I will be starting from scratch like all of my other Gran Turismo games. Unlike some people i have plenty of time to play GT5!

I'll transfer from GT5P to gain instant satisfaction from having loads of cash and cars. I'll probably make another file to have a career from a blank slate also
.

I will transfer as much as possible as I'm lazy and it won't spoil the experience much for me since I'm most interested in the used cars, which aren't transferable obviously, it would just make it easier to get and tune them.

PS I vote not sure yet cause we know next to nothing of the feature yet. ;)

I wont be. I love starting out with small cars and working my way up the latter. Make's you have a more accomplished feeling.

Starting from scratch is the best part of GT games, so I won't to start with. However when I get to the point where i'm doing the same races over and over for money , that's when I'll transfer over my 13 f2007's. :] Will be like a lottery win halfway through career.

I thought that only the GTPSP garage will transfer, not GT5P. Further, GTPSP has an export garage function whereas GT5P does not. I am guessing that having a GT5P game save will give you similar to GT4P ie a fixed amount of credits and maybe a bronze license or two. So you get your cars from GTPSP and some credits from GT5P.

Nah. As much as I would like my garage from Prologue I want to build a new relationship with the cars in GT5. GT5 is, in essence, a new game. In my mind to get the most out of it, it requires a fresh start.

I have multiple accounts in gtpsp .in one of them i have all the cars .i use that for testing purposes.i wont load it to my original GT5 save but i will try some cars in arcade time trials or online.
if the loaded cars dont add to your garage but just usable in arcade i may add them to game.think of gt4 arcade.
i dont want 1000 car garage its difficult to track them .i really want a folder system in garage when gt5 comes and may be adding notes to your car setups (or change car names).and also if game lets you save more than one account it will be very useful.

Not on my primary user account save, but I see no reason not to transfer everything that I can to a secondary save on another account.

Especially if GT5 makes an auto save every time you buy a new car. A second save with all the transfer data would allow you to evaluate cars before making the purchase decision on your primary save.
