So there are only TWO players in Major League Baseball from the Netherlands... yet they win 3-2 over the Dominican Republic? HELL of an upset! But believe me... if they played best of three, Dominican Republic would surely force a Game 3.

Congratulations to all winners from Saturday's games.

Unfortunately, I think that's the last game they're gonna play at the Tokyo Dome. Japanese baseball crowds are so awesome. It makes the game so much better, imo.

Really? It is amusing to watch them cheer their team. Go to a Japanese league game or to the big high-school tournament. The fans only cheer when their team is batting and when their team is on the field, they stay quiet to let the other fans cheer. It's amusingly odd.

Yeah I saw that, I think its odd... I think I like the constant noise better... And are all the stadiums in Japan domes? Lame... there's nothing like a night in a open stadium where a big game is being played.

Of course not. Some of the biggest are domes, though, because they are usually multi-purpose facilities.

Korea OWNED China by a football score of 14-0! Game ended in the seventh inning. Maybe there's a mercy rule in the WBC. There isn't one in Olympic basketball when some teams get b:censored:slapped by the US.

(NOT AN ADVERTISEMENT) http://web.worldbaseballclassic.com is the official website of the World Baseball Classic. A lot of the results from all the games and all the pools are on the site.

Yeah, there is a mercy rule. If you're up by 15 by the 5th inning, the game ends. Up by 10 in the 7th, the game ends.

Congratulations to Venezuela beating the U.S. 5-3 to win their pool. This, out of being a good sport. The US will take on Puerto Rico (I believe) Saturday at 8:00 PM EDT.

The cinderalla story of this year's WBC is no more, the Dutch team was eliminated last night by team USA after losing 9-3.

Tonight's games:

Venezuela vs Puerto Rico, 8ET on ESPN

Cuba vs Mexico, 11ET on ESPN2

The US team beat Puerto Rico 6-5 last night advancing to the semis in LA. They scored runs the bottom of the ninth to win it, what a game!

The usual rule for most people is, "always hate Japan." Well, Team Japan took Team USA to school with a 9-4 beatdown in the World Baseball Classic. In other Asian baseball news, apparentely, Korea didn't get the memo that Venezuela's a great baseball country as they hammered them 10-2.

Makes you wonder if the Major Leagues are still the best in the world.

I saw this in a zoom-out picture from "Good Morning America" this morning:

(indirect quote) "Japan beats Korea in ten innings to win second World Baseball Classic."

So 2013... Japan will be co-defending champions. Congratulations to Japan and their sugoi (great) baseball team.

The USA team wasn't represented by the "Best" players... And a lot of the best players come from other countries... Its pretty even. But if it was league vs. league, I think MLB would win.

Congrats to Japan. Asian baseball is serious business.

That final was the most intense baseball game I have ever watched in my life, personally. So much was on the line(bragging rights). Now, I can talk smack to my coworkers regarding baseball for another few more years. Those South Koreans..... I thought they were going to win it in the bottom of 9th. Japan won, but I can't take anything away from those Koreans. Awesome team, they got. 👍

Makes you wonder if the Major Leagues are still the best in the world.
If the Americans made the sacrifices teams like South Korea, Cuba, or..... the World Champs made :P I believe that USA would totally & completely own.
