Thanks Hun200kph, we had great fast clean racing tonight, except the annoying punters? Look forward to race you again & hopefully no punters.

Earth, never let them on your inside! LOL. Saw that punt, the black R35 gave you, coming a mile away. All I could do was watch. Passed him at the hairpin for ya, though. 👍

BTW, you gave me a nice off, but it was mostly my fault. We were dead locked coming into the esses, 1st lap, and I didn't know you were there. Started to come down a bit, and BAM! I am off in the sand. LOL. So I apologize for not seeing you there. My bad! :dunce:

Wish we all could of had some more clean, disconnect free, races.

thanks for some good racing today on suzuka.. :dopey: big props to honeycar, madforce, hun & many others GTP forum members for high level of racing..my apologies to anyone i've punted or bumped on the track.. :ouch: no bad intentions from my side..i hope to race you all again soon..
it's my first post here and "I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship" between me and this GT community ;)

I'm trying to race the outsiders like I would race a member of a team and it never works...I tried to get the same excitement I got today going 2-wide through the hairpin and final chicane with various team drivers but the outsiders will hit you every time.

I can't help it, that is my driving style, if I see a challenge, as lets say trying to stay side by side with someone through the esses or shooting for a hole between two drivers I'll take it, even if it's an outsider, and most of the time I pay but I cannot resist a challenge. One of my greatest strengths but also a big weakness.

EDIT: Next time put him in the catch fence, don't just pass him 👍

1st turn is a madhouse. My brain has quickly deleted most memories of the last hour I spent at the World Event.

After a thrilling duel with GTNDC-Honeycar that saw 3 passes for position in the final 1.5 laps with Honeycar emerging victorious after going through the final chicane side by side with me I didn't get another good race at the WE even after 1 hour of trying.

Yesterday I had a blast, but man, today it seems all the punters in the world connected at the same time. 1st corner is simply insane.

Does anybody know how is grid positions decided in F430 vs GT-R... dont they should be equally cars, so it supposed to be random?

Does PD have somekind database about drivers 'qualifying times' cause I have noticed that my starting position is always back on the pack? (9-12 every time) I am not good at one lap timing, so could that be reason. Anyway, I dont mind it, cause I like chasing and it's best practising just wait if other drivers do mistakes. I survive everytime through first corners well, cause there is no one, or only few guys behind me. I really hope they add more laps. Even 5 would make me very happy. It feels that race is always end just when it's getting started.

I usually try to drop to the very back and let everyone get punted off on the first turn, and then I make my way up to the front of the pack. If I start off in the front then I just try to get the heck out of there as fast as possible and try not to screw it up on the first turn. This usually seems to work great for me.

On the weekend, when I had had some beers, and the racing was not so good, I think I saw a pattern of being more front in the grid than usual. Might have been just a coincidence too...

As far as I know, starting positions are random. There's no influence of the type of car, your connection or your previous driving.

PD GIVE US PRIVATE ROOMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:ouch:

Yesterday I was gettin punted out 90% of the races (and I've raced a lot)

Damn brainless idiots out there. What are they doing at Pro Level???????

Today?:

still those punting noobs but also: NO GRIP!!:nervous:

Havin a break now.

maybe laters again:grumpy:

I did 3 races yesterday and was very surprised about what happened.

1st race: I started pole and went off into the distance, lap 3 I decided to take it a little easier at turn 1 and flew off into the gravel...I could not believe it. 1st to 4th in one corner. I managed to catch the other guys by 130R and then went from 4th to 1st in one corner!! very odd...

2nd race: Again, started pole, for once I was actually the host so I knew there would be no DC!!YAY! First lap, off I went, then the second lap? EVERYBODY flew by me!! I ended the lap 7/8!! The lead Ferraris did a 6:45/6:46, everyone in the race, EVERYONE did sub 7 minutes. I got absolutely thrashed, I tell you that was an education. I don't know where the hell they came from, one second I'm out front the next my mirrors were absolutely full of F430.

3rd race: Tried the F430 again, it is just so much more fun to drive but I can't handle it. First time I used it last week I actually managed to keep up with Honeycar, and we all know that is no easy job! But ever since, just can't push it to the limit without the car pushing me into next Tuesday.

On Saturday I'm off abraod for 4 weeks and you know, I am actually really going to miss competing in this event.

All the best

I just had the most awesome race against DoubleH from NZ. It was F430 vs GTR too. 0.1sec apart at the finish after a clean race the whole race.:) I would have waited for you MisterWeary but that was an awesome battle I had. And from interior view too.:dopey:

Edit: Lost it myself at turn 2 in that xx:00 race just before the host quit. I followed 1st place into the sand.:dunce: Too bad about the punters and n00b host.

Bah that last race we did, my whole race was full of small errors :(

epecially last lap chicane, I never ever usually overshoot it like that.

Yeah the punters were out a bit tonight but it gave me a chance to try my new game of ?ghosting?. Basically it involves waiting a lap for the culprit to return and you drive on top of them, surprisingly fun! :sly:👍

Would that be the drunk crawling pig? ;)

Aw, we had some good races though right?

All the best
Maz (Synwraith)

1.Yes, it would... :)

2. ..aah, Now I remember.. (lol) ..we did have good racing! ..I really meant to say that my driving was not that good... :)

I really should pay more attention to what I write, here, or anywhere else.. :(

Still going??? xx:48?

Weary - I've done that too... it's so fun to see how it affect them.. :)

If anyone sees me out there it is pretty much best just to ignore me, I am having a really off night. I have bursts of pace then screw up bad or I just mess up each corner slightly and provide bad lap times, this is happening race after race :(

Actually I might just give it a rest for the night (yes it is night here)

The last race I appeared in, where I disappeared after the first corner, I'm sorr if my car did something dodgy, I got disconnected, but from past experiences my car stays on the track and gets in the road. I quit as soon as I could to avoid that, but sorry if my driverless car killed anyone.

Been watching Hamish & Andy?:sly:

Someone did that to me last week when I was in the lead, I couldn't believe how much it was putting me off. He was SO much faster as well, always able to get in front, thank you boost/RBE. He did this to me for an entire lap, until on the last lap he finally managed to distract me enough that I cocked up Turn 1, and then we all got disconnected. That was a really unpleasant experience.

uk86ze, sorry for the punts, first one didn't expect you to brake that early, the second I braked before you but the slipstream or something sucked me into you and I barely touched you. Freak accident

I'm not sure about that one. GTRs are always in the front and F430s behind, based on BHP, but I've noticed if I win a few races in a row then I'm generally at the head of the F430 pack. Usually my first race of the night I'm in the rear of the f430 pack. This could be total coincidence but I have noticed a pattern.

F1CE from JP is pretty darn quick. Had a good race with him last night. So is Ashdtv. Not sure how clean F1CE is, as he didn't get that close, but Ashdtv is very clean, and battles fair. I really need to start writing down the names of the guys that I have good races with.

Grid is setup with GTRs in front, 430s in back. Other then that, I have seen no other qualifiers. I can assume the GTR gets front as it gets out of the hole better, and has less top speed.

My trick to the start, in the GTR, is get to the inside as quick and clean as I can. Brake just a little early, but not hard, to see what the guy behind me is thinking. If I see the punt coming I jump the brakes HARD, and fight to keep it on track. Usually to the determent of others, unfortunately. :guilty: If I think I can "beat the punt" by accelerating away through the corner, I will do that instead, though. If the punt doesn't come, drop to 3rd, tight line it around the corner. Usually I will put the two inside wheels in the grass even. Accelerate hard to the next right, drop to second to rotate the car, and continue to stay inside. Let the car drift out if it is clear, otherwise modulate throttle and make sure to not be beside anyone going into the esses. From then on, just watch your rear.

If in the 430, just sit back and let the madness happen. Watch for puntees coming back onto the road without looking who is coming.

Also, as I mentioned to Earth, I never pass on the outside. Ever. I wait for the car ahead to go wide, or I will set them up with a slow in, fast out technique. They can't punt you if you are inside them. Best to do it under braking. Favorite places are the hairpin, and Casio. Never on the long back straight, just ride their rear, and let them make the mistake going through the left into Casio.
