Great racing tonight, except punters, like to thank GTP_Hun & GTP_mindwise for excellent racing, And to all other GTP drivers, THANKS? look forward to race you all again soon.

Thank you, lots of other GTP'ers were racing too (CWR, slicecom, mr geez, drama-kyd, HotShot66 among others) and it was fun. I raced for more than 5 hours, between 10 PM and 3.30 AM and my last few races were full of silly mistakes (Degner and Spoon), sorry to all that had trouble with me. I really must know when to stop and go to bed. :dopey:

I have to say I used to love this event (won't forget my 1-1 battle with CWR so soon, and a few other great races), but about a week or so the puntfest and the constant hosts quitting made me turn my back on it, as if I was spending 2 hours racing on this event, it was 2 hours of frustration instead of fun, and I really can't afford that kind of crap.
If I'm going to be playing this game, I want to have as great of a time as possible, and banging my head against a wall doesn't fit in the picture.

Well, last night, after quite a few days without even showing for this event, I've tried it again.
I said "what the hell", picked up the GT-R for the first time, gave it about 3 or 4 laps on free run to get the feel of the car, and went for it.
Race 1: Host quits on lap 2
Race 2: I get punted braking for the chicane
Race 3: Host quits on lap 3
Race 4: I get punted on Spoon

Got the flock outta there and went to Fuji 600.
Unless this gets better, I'm NOT going to race this event again.
It's a shame, because I really enjoyed racing with all our fellow NTSC members, and the event has a lot of potential for sure.
But the way it is now, don't count me in. :(

Race 1 - Impressive speed, Beerz, when the host quitted I think you were in 2nd and I was 3rd, you just flew past by me.

Race 2 - It's a pity we don't have voice chat, if we had I would have wrned you that the guy named CHIMERRA[US] is a dirty driver, I had a few races with him before. Again, I was behind you and when I saw you getting side by side with him to make a pass at the chicane I had an urge toi shout "Don't do it there! Wait for him to make a mistake!". Anyway, I stopped at the finish line to wait for you but you decided to quit, understandably.

I wasn't in your races 3 and 4.

All in all, I think it's a great event, I like to meet GTP-NTSC drivers but we do have to come up with a anti-punters strategy. I'm now getting a litle better avoiding the mess in turns 1 and 2, and also avoiding the punters in the esses (always keeping close to the Apexes and never, ever, making an outside move on them). The real race usually starts in lap 2, even if we ocasionaly still have one or two "surviving" punters to deal with.

My point is: don't give up on this event :)

PS - From now on, I'll split my playing time between Ferrari Chalenge offline (bought it yesterday at "Corte Inglés") and GT5P online. In a few weeks, I'll start playing Ferrari Challenge online also. There's Spa-Francorchamps in that game 👍

Tonight was the worst racing i have raced? Me and my great online friend GTP_Hun said tonight was a PUNTER FESTIVAL? your right there friend? We were the only clean drivers & every time we would pass other cars, bang puntered? Only hope PD hurry up & put private rooms, then BYE BYE punters? race you soon GTP_Hun:)

TO ALL PUNTERS:nervous:🤬

Hey if you think punthing is bad in WE Suzuka, try the Daytona WE in PP700..wow the RBE has evened everyone up basically..so everyone runs in one big pack..

Guess what? No one can hold a line or drive staight!

Yes, last night was a mess  Thanks for your kind words đź‘Ť

When I played PAL-only races, I had the feeling that ES and FR drivers were the worst, with GB closely following. Now, I have a world wide winner in that kind of track behaviour: JP.

I find the Japanese quite often often either fast and clean or fast and dirty.

Off topic but when's the next update

2.5 hours from the time of this post they claim but it's usually late

I noticed they had 3 international events from the last update. Just make them all international

For anyone that has a clue (because I don't):

What are good laptimes on this track with this combo?

I'm going to tune my Viper to race on this event and I'd like to have an idea of how well or not I'm doing setting up the car and driving it.
Thanks, guys. :)

Expect these times to drop as players get used to the track and settle on a better car and tune.

Nice Ill try it tonight!

Any suggestions on cars? The R8 maybe?

R8 will top out at ~670pp (it's 680 with R3's, not sure what this will be on R1's), so will be totally outclassed here.

Worthy candidates:
Ford GT-LM (of course)
Tuned S2k
Tuned Corvette
Tuned Viper
Mines R34

There might be the odd other car, but ultimately only these 5 will be competitive.

Nissan GT-R is pretty decent..not winning material but if lucky, podium.

I'm running this now

EDIT: The big flaw with this race is tht 12th probably is 10 seconds behind the leader at the start and 6th probably 5 seconds. Large gaps and only 3 laps to overcome them. Rolling Starts should be more bunched up here or double file.

Also, the Nissan GTR in the right hands is just ridiculous here. I saw a couple of TeamGT drivers run them at near equal pace to my Ford GT with 15 less pp. And because they always started at the front they inherited a 5 second lead every race which made it impossible to catch them unless they made a mistake. At least we know that's one car that will have its pp adjusted with the August 1st update.

Just ran a race here also and used the Evo tuned after hitting 1'48's in free run with it .. anyway the Evo was underpowered against the line up :( ... so I jumped in the Z06 instead and now its doing 1'44's per lap in free run but with a slight possibility if I push too much it will do some nice doughnuts, going back to test this in race now ;)

will enter at xx:20 đź‘Ť

For the first time in my entire Gran Turismo racing life I'm not embarassed to drive a big dumb American car. I mean, I am an American and I'm driving at Daytona. You have to go with big dumb American GT1 car. Even if I had a proper tuned German or Italian car I still would have to go with the tuned Z06. It's Daytona after all, Ricky Bobby be damned!

I have to say, this update got me to try the pp750 events for the first time. I like race cars and I like sports cars, but the tuned thing never has appealed to me. But on this track it finally feels right. Daytona road never felt right in pp600 or pp700 and was silly in pp500 (though I had some fun Integra races with people).

I can't believe it, but I will be spending some time in this event. See you all out there when I'm not in the mood for Suzuka pp600.

Quitters just ruined the last 2 races and 3 out of the last 4 of mine

PD is updating with GTTV but they allow quitters to run rampant and do not update the game to somehow stop them.

Anyways, I'm still running this for the rest of the hour then taking a break

Well no matter what update they do it seems nothing will work .. quitters and slipstream rammers at Daytona have given me my full of idiots for the last hour đź‘Ž
They drive the Ford GT and can only catch on the straights and think they have the god given right to whack you off the course! .. as if "how dare you be ahead of me .. take that" what a bunch of tossers and they are certainly not worthy of any more of my time

I dunno? .. You try to have a few enjoyable races and end up on the grid with the retards day out :(

I've had more issue with disconnects than punters at Daytona. In 17 races I attempted this afternoon, I won 2, got a 2nd and a third (right bhnd Mr P) and the rest were disconnects. Not a single punt. Odd. Back to Suzuka later tonight.

I spent some time yesterday on DR testing my new Viper/Tuned tune, and I must say, I didn't get punted once and no disconnects either. đź‘Ť Thought I must say that in the afternoon there are more quitters than later in the evening (probably kiddies have gone to bed by then :P).
