perhaps the bumps stop that prevent it from turning round in circles when it calibrates have shifted. I'd be inclined to measure how far it moves in each direction on calibration. You might find its going more one way than the other on calibration, thereby moving the rest 'centre'.

Thanks for the ideas.

To be more specific, when it does calibrate it rotates the same amount both ways, and it will work correctly until it gets turned fast, or sometimes I'll just enter a race and when the lights go green it just shifts to one side, or the other!

Is it advisable I take it apart and see if anything needs cleaned? Plenty of cola and chips have been enjoyed above this thing

What kind of wheel is it? I've taken apart a DFGT, and it was pretty easy to see how it worked, and easy to get back together. Most other wheels are probably the same way. I would take it apart and see what's going on in there.

as Talon has said, the next step might be to dismantle the wheel, and give it a good clean out. From what you've said, it may indicate the pots (potentiometers) are dirty or worn. they are probably rotary pots, and all it may need is a squirt of CRC / WD40. Its possible that the pots are worn, and in that case the only remedy would be a replacement. They are very cheap bits of kit, and depending on your wheel manufacturer/model, you may well be able to get spares from the manufacturer, however they could probably be sourced cheaper from a decent electronics shop. I think most of them have type numbers stamped on them, so 'should' be fairly easy to find a direct replacement.
Google is your friend. I did a search: "replace pots on logitech steering wheel", and got a decent number of hits. You'll learn a lot more there than i can tell you. 👍
Just as an afterthought, if you do pull the wheel apart, check all the mounting screws/bolts are tight. When you say it sometimes goes off centre when the light goes green, it gives me the idea that the problem could be with the FF motors or their mountings.
Disclaimer: I have never pulled a steering wheel apart, and so, I'm only trying to apply a little logical thinking to point you in a direction. I cannot guarantee that direction is the right one, and I accept no responsibility for any damage that might be incurred to either yourself or your equipment. :P

i'd just like to say sorry to cpt disaster for the lil bumps tonight, and sorry if i put anyone else off. just got a new wheel and trying to get used to it. i'd never punt someone on purpose. just trying to get a good setup and get used to the wheel, sorry again

I have no problem with genuine mistakes mate,we all make them, it's the deliberate punters, one that uses this forum that i do have a problem with. Cheers !

Thanks again! but I love the quoted line, I had big plans in my head until I got that far in your post.

Also, it is worth noting, this first happened with the GT5 TT. As we all remember the FFB on the TT was superior to GT5P, and my G25 payed the price. Something all you guys with old wheels will have to pay attention to when GT5 is released. And just so everyone's panties stay out of a bunch, my Christmas gift for 2010 is a G27

Some good races today with:

jh001
Marooned
Cpt.Disaster

Lot of lag today in some races. Got into the 1:40.022 with the F430. Dont know what else to do with that car.

R35sp-shima (JP). best lap which i saw from him was a 8.08,5xx. :) he had the pole position.
i never saw anyone else who was driving the last corner like him.

the GB driver could be davissi. he is also freaking fast with the GT-R. 👍

Your right mate, from GB must be my friend Dave ;)! Well, seems i need a better setup :dopey:!

Hmm, what does it do? Make it faster or something? Like the Subaru bug?

Maybe i shouldnt have said anything ! Havent you wonder how it goes stupidly and crazy fast out of the corners? I always thought everyone new it by now... One thing is for certain crazy fast GTR=BUG! But the rest of the setup is very important has in all of the other cars:) and of corse the skills! Believe me every single one of them ;)!
