If you pause the video at 0:49, you'll see 255mph flash up for just a second, just after the finish line. đź‘Ť But it's already at 8000rpm in 6th, so I doubt too much more due to the gearing.

glad it was a Ford GT, and not a gallardo or a supra. but then again who knows what the said cars have up its sleeve for the TX mile thats coming up.
last i saw the fastest record WAS a supra at 246...

GO FORD GTTT!!!!

World record, and he missed a gear! Jesus! That car has at least a couple more mph left in it. I imagine he could have perfected feathering the throttle at high rpm instead of short shifting to stretch the gears out longer, and making all of them in the first place is worth a good bit. I'm eager to see them try it again.

He was struggling with wheelspin well and truly after 200km/hr with marginal throttle, absolutely mental.

Woow.. how much HP does this car have ? When I watched that Supra pushing up to ~243 MPH I felt like the car was pushed really really I mean really hard with something like +40 psi but when you look at this Ford GT .. I mean what the...

I assume this car can do OVER NINE THOUSAND MPH ! hehe maybe something like +280 MPH before the tires blow.

I call it "Legal Drag Car"

I dunno, man! This thing has 1300+ hp out of a 5.4 liter (likely larger, not sure of the stroke/bore considering how much has been put into this build) V8 with a 76 trim turbo on each bank. Let's just assume it's bored/stroked to around 6 liters. That's 3 liters per bank, each spooling a sizeable turbo.

To put this into perspective, my S2000 will be running a single 76 on a 6.5 liter V8, and I still expect to have a little bit of lag with relatively low boost making around 750-800rwhp. Just imagine cutting my displacement in half and running the same size turbo... now add about a thousand RPM to the rev range, double the peak boost goal, and you get the kind of lag this guy has on each side of his V8. It hits boost and BAM 500 more horses BAM fuel cut.

It looks like the output seriously goes from around 800 to 1300 in about a 2,000 RPM range. I can't imagine anyone being able to control that with throttle feathering.

This thing is ridiculous.

Dyno runs:

:bowdown: to the driver. No way in hell would I drive that on city streets.

Around 1800hp.
Say what? You're almost 500 off the mark.

from the other forums i visit, it IS around 1800hp, he achieved that time with a tailwind, and apparently next time he will run an even higher MPH because he will be using nitrous.

GO FGTTT!

253 mph in one mile... I still have to chew that a bit...

OK, they are anything but production cars, but Top Fuelies do 1-1/2 times that speed in 1/4 the distance...

And that still blows my mind every time I watch a top fuel race. Here we are with our production cars thinking 10 seconds in the quarter is fast, and those guys run under 4 seconds trapping at 300+ mph.

I think this picture is more than appropriate

You want to continue this with me.....then next time don't show a video that's nearly 6mths old to prove your point because that was their base tune and if you believe that's their final figure the only person you're fooling is yourself glubags.

Why do I feel that this thread is going to go the way of the TKR thread very quickly and very soon??

*added bit* dave_sz, it is a production Ford GT, just with a :censored:load of work done to it. đź‘Ť

Expect Boost Logic to amaze once again in the next Texas Mile. I believe they were aiming at 255-258 mph. The problem they had was that he was aiming at a fast run after his 246 mph run but his engine blew because the RPMs got so high. Apparently he could keep the RPMs lower at a high speed so they had to rebuilt the whole tranny to keep those RPMs lower at those high speeds. You just gotta give a load of respect to those guys for being able to make a 12 year old car that fast. I think the Boost Logic Supra is also running 600 horses less then this Ford GT, but please correct me if I'm wrong. It's amazing how much power they managed to put in that Ford

That Ford GT got up there like nothing though, he got wheel spin in like what, 4 gears? For a second I thought he was using nitrous, but since I can't find any info on whether he used it in that run, I'll go without the nitrous then :)

*EDIT* The Boost Logic Supra did that 246 mph run with 1295 horses to be precise :)

Now, I wonder when someone's gonna show up with a 2000hp blown 600+ci Monster motor running Methanol to one of these events...

There is only so much grip. This run was already on the border, I'd imagine that going for more power is absolutely unnecessary unless you have some fantastic grip.

What kind of tires are they allowed in these competitions?

I kind of want to see a Pro Stock car with tall gears run a mile. Then again, they don't have nearly enough power to go 250mph, but they might get close. What I really want to see is a Top Fuel car built reliable enough to run a mile. If they could make a two-speed gearbox strong enough to handle it I wonder if it could reach terminal velocity in a mile.

I think if you went Pro Mod with tall gears, you could do it. That's the kind of thing I was thinking of.

Whoa whoa whoa, you're way too defensive and you've got me all wrong man. I wasn't trying to make a point, I was going on the latest youtube vid I saw from them at the time with a solid power figure and reference to the standing mile run.

I was definitely wrong, since it seems they'd rebuilt the motor and added a nitrous system sometime around January. I was only able to get online for so long at work today, so I plead ignorance to the newer updates... but I can admit when I'm wrong, so let's be adults about it. No harm no foul, all right?

It's all good glubags......I didn't have my morning cup of Coca-Cola, so wasn't having a caffiene buzz to wake up and had a killer headache. :yuck:

Not to mention my last time showing a 250mph+ car turned into a 🤬 debacle in itself, so I'm a bit more hesitant this time around. :)

Lets stick with the important stuff, forget numbers what that GT is, is completely mental and awesome to boot. Sure it's unusable in a real world situation, but I doubt they ever planned on using it on the road often.

I think it would be very streetable. You've got the V8 for getting around town and the turbos for destroying anyone foolish enough to get in your way.
