I am in a cop lobby at the moment 1472-6681-3158-0100-5380 no host active, everybody drag racing drifting and using hacked cars at London. Anybody want to come join me and bring a bit of Anti Troll power.

At some stage I will get to drive my 66 beetle :grumpy:.

5000 replies to this thread speaks volumes about racing on line. Like stay away. Too bad, because it looks like fun.

So I tried it out today looking for a realistic race at the Nordschliefe. I found a decent room but the host left. Tried another one with my Gallardo, and upon leaving the pits I rear ended someone parked there.

Next around the circuit there was a Red Bull parked in the middle of the road I couldn't avoid. Rear ended him too, only to have him retaliate and run me off the road. Next, there was someone running the wrong direction. That was enough.

So how do you find a decent room with mature individuals? By invite only? I don't want to waste my time with the shenanigans.

I joined Coxbox's lobby and he left me as the host. Something is bound to go wrong now, I'm at good as hosting as Jeremy Clarkson is at fixing a car with proper tools.

Ahh that was you 👍, well if you keep the settings the same everything should be good, make any changes and you are going to have bad time. I would of stayed longer but I have to work tomorrow.

Well, it's kinda boring at the moment, the only other player that joined isn't doing anything and neither am I. The only thing we did was do random burnouts around the track. I was trying to see if it's true that the Mercedes SLS AMG can use up it's tires within only a few laps, like what James May said on Top Gear.

EDIT: I got bored and left.

I'm actually considering quitting GT5's online portion... seems as if every room I enter has either hybriders with a crappy attitude, people who are decent enough to let me try to tune my cars properly but then turn nasty when I try to make good laps, or just general nonsense.

I just want to drive around, why is that a problem?

(I cannot host rooms myself; I have a strange glitch occur each time I try. It disconnects me from the server each time I try to host a room.)

Not really a worst moment, but best ownage. Just raced in Furi's shuffle lobby against a guy who would, with no remorse, slam people off his way to get through. Furi took him out late on the lap, but he would climb back up with the help of the boost settings. On the final long straightaway of the Nordschleife, he would be coming behind me, trying to get through via the grass. I blocked him twice, then wrecked him into the last set of corners. He would then get kicked shortly after the race was over as I took the win despite slamming quite hard into the wall. Sweet victory. :D

Don't let the trolls win.

I'm getting tired of getting kick because my NSX can beat a Ferrari, a SLS , or an R8 around Nurb.

The NSX is mostly frowned upon my friend. Especially between the 520-550pp levels.

This. It's a function of the inaccurate way PP works with some cars being demonstrably faster(and others slower) than whatever the "average" is assumed to be at certain PP levels.

I know it does happen, but I've never yet experienced anyone being kicked out of a room for winning. I haven't played as much as many people, but I have run a good many online races. People get upset about using "unfair" cars occasionally, but I've only seen people outright kicked for flatly ignoring the hosts requests to change car - largely because one NSX/Elise/whatever tends to mean the room will soon be full of them as people change to try to keep up - even if the one using the "unfair" car is slower and not a threat to win.

Clearly I'm not very good at picking online lobbies, as I've only seen a very little bit of the stuff people post about in this thread. 90% of the time if the rules actually correspond with the room title things go fairly smoothly with only the occasional unskilled drivers or fast-but-rude drivers to worry about. If an outright punter shows up they generally get the boot after a race or two(depending on how obvious they are). The vast majority of the time if I don't just quit right away from not finding an appealing room, I wind up staying in one of the first three rooms I join for hours on end with little trouble. Of course, I never join drag/drift/unrestricted rooms and rarely join free run rooms - usually just for a practice lap or two if I do.

The Caterham is too damn slow for its PP, Stock NSX pace for 600+pp. get laughed at online a lot for my "slowness" on straights. :-/

This. I once joined a drift lobby and the room's restriction was 600PP. I tried to enter with my Caterham (Dont know why, I've never tried drifting it) and I was over the limit. How?!

Oh right, because it corners better than most supercars and is lighter, too. THAT STILL DOESN'T MAKE IT A VIABLE COMPETITOR TO SOMETHING LIKE A FERRARI 458 ITALIA!

Honda and BMW fans now hate you. :sly:
Well, not exactly. Just the people that expect easy wins.
So???

Those cars are ridiculous....

Here I come with an olden story:

One day I host a random racing session on various tracks. We hit the Ring and I call for 550pp STREET CARS ONLY. We all race normal cars (I pull out my pink LFA, the one I have various pictures of and has 900k miles on it), some genius (To be honest I think that dude came out from COD) decided to forget how to read and pulls out a Weider HSV.

After the race I say this:

What did I say about racecars???

Weider genius instantaneously jumps out at me saying that why am I gonna kick him, that if I'm gonna kick him because when I didn't give him access to his garage (I have no idea what he meant with access to my garage ).

Keep an eye on this: I did not say I was gonna kick him at any given opportunity, I was gonna give him a chance anyway and if he came out with another race car when I, the host was strictly saying street cars only (No Racecars of any sort or type), I was gonna kick him with the tactical GT5 boot of shame.

Moral of the story: Some people can't read :(

Or they are so privileged that they don't respect what anyone tells them.

Randomly kicked out of a drift room.

It was an open lobby with TOP DRIFTZ so I'm guessing it was for everyone to join.

What I was doing:
Drifting a RR car (RUF BTR)
I was ghosted so I wouldn't hit anybody
I was doing full lap drifts instead of the Suzuka East D1 section

Everyone was doing the exact opposite, but I did see another guy drifting an Alpine A110 which is RR as well. About to message the host, who apparently changed the room to shuffle racing.

So they weren't ghosted, they were drifting Suzuka D1 section and they were drifting FF cars???

I was in a Trackday lobby in my classy as hell Nissan Skyline (old one) and had a guy in a new one organise a photoshoot around the track with my car and his later on. Host said "I'm putting to race ok?" Everyone said "Sure. We'll not get in your way"

We spend half the race just posing with our similarly blue (with black wheels) Skylines (Old and new) then we decide to do a high speed shot, BAM! Hit by an idiot going backwards and visually damaging the newer Sky'. He then pushed me off and pinned me to a wall, ruining the rest of the shoot. He was kicked.
