Yeah, I guess it's true that time trial or license skill is not the same skill as passing in a pack.

It would be nice to see the option up there, though. I think it would help. If you've got all golds in the licenses, you're capable of controlling where the car is. That may seem easy, but 99% of competitors can't do that.

I fully understand rules of racing but because I do so many practice and time trial runs by myself (because I love rally) I find it hard to race fairly in a pack. More practice will obviously help but the AI in GT doesn't help with that. I love to DRIVE rather than RACE. That's my down fall so I don't enter serious race rooms because I know I'll lose badly and cause headaches for the serious racers out there. Most of my online racing is against good mates where it isn't a major if we make contact. Anyway enough of my rambling. Thanks for the link. Good to read.

there was a guy who loved his GT more than his mother from the sounds of it online today, he was like "Haha my GT is faster than all of you" then he called a bunch of us p:censored: after we all left the line at our perscribed start time and didnt give him a chance to line up.. then he picked on this Mclaren he ended up catching anyway.. then he kept telling this guy he called a fa:censored: a:censored: b:censored: to get the f:censored: away from his car because he was damaging it while trying ot line up because of the bad connection.. needless to say i was happy when he finallly left.. please excuse the amount of censoreds guys i was only saying what was being said in the room

Racing Nurb in a 670pp lobby, 9 cars start, im in a < 620pp RM TVR, the rest of the field are in 88-CV's, GT500 type cars, one dude even had a Sauber C9 & some other guy was in a Nascar (?)

I managed to maintain a good lead from the pack in 4th position which I thought wasnt that bad considering the competition (which was 8+ seconds ahead), by a little after the halfway mark some guy had caught up to me in a Xanavi Gtr and literally just rammed me from behind to get through just before karousel, was pretty annoyed but got over it pretty quick, During this spin out some other guy cacthes up a Fina Mclaren f1 and believe it or not we actually had a good battle heading towards the finish line and we actually caught up to the GTR just before tha main straight, all 3 of us are having a battle to the finish with the McLaren leading by a second down the straight when the guy in the GTR decides to ram him as his braking for the final couple of turns, Long story short none of us completed the race as the timer ran out and I ended up in 6th after driving a solid race against some serious competiton and holding my own for a while/

Mostly COD, though just driving some fun cars in Forza 3 online via the open races (AKA "X class noob races" as I call them) pisses people off.

Come on people, it's a free pass/win!

As for GT5: I love free run rooms. Once in a rare while, you may encounter an dumb***, but it mostly happens when you drive something fun (ie: a matte pink Miata or a Fiat 500). So many people who just go "OMG I LOVE SUPERCARS ONLY OMG" and NEVER try anything else. I love driving stock Miatas, etc., but apparently it's frowned upon.

Had a guy by the name of "deeznuts_7" decide to cut me off while I was on a hotlap before a race with his shiny gold chrome Enzo.

He then switched to his fully tuned Viper, and during the race proceeded to cut the track every chance he got at Monza. He only beat my 500 HP IS-F by a few seconds. After I told the host about his cutting and blocking, he called me a "whiner."

Next race, he gets taken out at the start by some other kid in a R8, and he starts whining himself. I call him a hypocrite, and tell him that if he can't take it, don't dish it out. By this time, the host leaves, making him the host, and he promptly kicks me,

I feel your pain. I remember a while ago I was tandem drifting with my Clio alongside an NSX when I didn't realise the NSX set me up for disaster and BANG! I got sandwiched by two Tank Cars.

i hate when people do that! tank cars are the worst for online.. but if you feel like trapping the AI at Daytona nothing blocks the track better.. i never use my tank car for any other purpose.. i may actually get rid of it.. my poor 500 was cruising at a good 90 mph on the inside shoulder, and then BOOM the X1 slams into it and sends it tumbling at 175 into the safer barriers, and because its a premium 2008 the back end was totally destroyed, first drive too!

I went into this one lobby that said Formula Gran Turismo. I join and they runnin X2010s and a Tank Car. To make matters worse it was a 200 lap race on Nurburgring 24hr. They couldn't drive. And before the race, the host insisted everyone stayed in the pits.


Finally on the first turn I said "**** this BS" and left. Hadn't had a proper Formula GT race since.

Anyhoo getting back to the topic, I joined a lobby titled "Car Show America" with 8 people in it. I joined and what do I see? A Passionate Pink 2004 Corvette Z06 with carbon hood and red wheels. I proceeded to bust out my 'Hellfire' Mustang to show off. I roll up to his Corvette and a brief conversation started via text chat:

Him: Dude your car looks like a piece o' dog ****. I bet that thing won't even hit 150.
Me: Yeah, whatever you say Barbie girl.
Him: My 'Vette will r*pe your sorry American a** in a 2 lap race (He was British BTW)
Me: Wanna bet Barbie? Let's race then!

We started a race, with everyone apparently supporting the Barbie 'Vette. As soon as 'START' appeared, everyone attempted to block me. However I weaved in and out of traffic, only taking a dent to the driver's side front fender. Lap 2 rolled around, and the Barbie 'Vette was right on my backend (I got knocked into the pits by a stupid Tank Car). I see him swerve and attempt to slam into me, and BANG! right into the wall, nearly flipping his 'Vette. Needless to say, I won by a calm 40 seconds. Surprisingly I wasn't kicked, but I left saying "Have fun in Barbieland!"

this story is GREAT hahahahha! and it also reminds me how tonight i want to build a jacked up Yaris with a Stage 3 Turbo, suspension height raised all the way, but on the softest settings.. chrome silver.. carbon hood and pimp wheels.. then roll it off the trial mountain chicane as many times as possible.. i think this car might have beaten my idea on the ugly meter

well the carbon hood would just help it look retarded im not trying to make the thing look even remotely pretty.. to give you an idea of what im going for im basically going to try and kind of make the Yaris behave like a SVT Raptor with the smushy suspension.. not offroad capability (even tho i will fit it with dirt tires... i hate toyotas and the yaris i had to live with for a couple of days was especially terrible.. im going to abuse it in that sense.. i want to beat the 🤬 out of it and make it look just as ugly as the 🤬 im gonna put it thru

the yaris i was talking about got built.. was taken to an onilne trial mountain meet, and promptly ejected on the grounds of its ugliness.. then later as my 330 P4 was lining up for oa race against a Mark IV, they were able to take off cleanly, the Ferrari got away, but the Mark IV behind me was obliterated from behind by a 200 MPH corvette, i had looked in my rear view mirror to see where he was and BOOM the Vette drilled him, 30 seconds later once the cars restarted, said Mark IV was PITted by a Mclaren and the Ford driver was kicked

Also people who block during tunnel drags. it's one of the main reasons why i dont drag anything heavier than 1300Kg. When i set up a drag room i automatically kick anyone if i hear of them doing that.

I just started drag racing at indy.. it requires a totally different type of car than the la sarthe drags.. and its alot more organized (no two way head on collisions).. its much more fun!

It really is the perfect example of drag racing in GT5. I like the fact that hypercars can't do well there. I would open a drag racing series but, that's not my cup of iced tea.

Nothing too bad for me. I can tell pretty quick if I get into a room full of people that are just messing around. If that's the case I just leave. I search around for good rooms with clean, mature racers. I don't have too much trouble finding them either. The majority of people online are halfway decent racers that'll race clean. The rammers are the "bad apples" if you will...

The thing that grinds my gears the most is the wreck fest that ensues on most races in the first section of the Nurburgring Nordschlife. It's not too bad on the 24hr course or the 4 hour course (Type V) but races that start on the Nordschlife are usually pretty brutal till you get past Hatzenbach.

I just wish people would see what's apparently isn't too obvious... It's a narrow track... Stay in line until an overtaking opportunity presents itself. It also annoys me when there's that person who's got a car that can *kinda* run with the pack but they're definitely slower then most of the cars and then they decide that they're going to race (wreck) you when you try to pass them clean. I'm all for getting raced and working to gain position but when I get "rolling roadblock" guy in front of me who thinks it's his duty to swerve from side to side so I can't get by, or wait till I get alongside him and then he turns into my door, I get pretty angry.

I just expect everyone to look in their mirror as much as I do and realize when an obviously faster car is coming and take appropriate action.

There's a real art to racing on the Nurburgring. I've been in rooms with good racers that know the ebb and flow of the track and it makes it so much more fun.

I was PIT'd just as I took the white flag!
There ain't no reason for that kind of bu*****t. I gave them all the goddamn space I could give them. They had to hook me in the left rear tire. Not too many people can piss me off the way they did a few months ago. The only way I could've given them any more room, was to glitch into the grandstands. This was doing 240 mph. Now I know I'm not driver of the year, but goddamn. I didn't do nothin. I ran my race, and did all the s*** I was supposed to, and it still wasn't enough.



It's fake ass drivers like that who anger me most.


I don't give a 🤬 what you 🤬 do after I left! Anytime you get that big of a run on a car that is giving you the maximum amount of room possible and you still manage to hit me, you don't f'n deserve to be a racecar driver, let alone play racing games. You piss me off. You no-talent dumbass.👎
