Worst you've dealt with online...

Tell your friends that, pretty sure its not happening to you 100% of the time. And if you're as much a respected driver as you say you are I'm pretty sure they'd be happy to either try another room or try resolve the connection issues....

Also you have to blow steam eventually. The only time I didn't was this Go-Kart incident where the guy left his mic on and I could hear him "exercise" between races. The rally incident? The kid was HORRIBLE and I beat him with a Subaru RM against his ESCUDO. I've also been kicked for being "too fast" and everyone thought I was hacking. Worst part? I was kicked by the host from a 50 lap endurance on the LAST LAP just because I overlapped the second place guy. You're telling me I am a poor sport? I just gave 3 SOLID examples of the crap I deal with every day.

Letting it get to you is what's giving the impression of having a short fuse. Don't like whats happening? Change it! Don't do those races, find other ways to enjoy racing online (find a racing series perhaps) and just leave the room when it starts to become a problem.

Need to let off steam? Find a contact sport.

That must stink I would be mad in the endurance race

Finally, I get into a room late that night and some guy from Mississippi ends up being the host after the original left. I myself am a southerner but this guy unfortunately played right into the streotype and was dropping N-bombs all over the place. He constantly kept running his mouth with a racist tirade, ramming into people, kept changing room parameters, etc.

I finally had enough, grabbed a NASCAR and rammed him into the walls pinning him frozen. To which he replied "Everybody say bye-bye to Aland18." Shame on me for sucumbbing to his level but is there a way to report him and the aforementioned person to PD, or Sony, or whatever?

I've obviously never needed to do this but what if these guys did this to a kid or something? If I were a parent, I'd be pretty upset.

I do remember their names if posting here is allowed.
i find alot of nascar rooms filled with these guys. imo people like them ruin the gt experience :|

yeah, it stinks.

Funny thing is, I asked where he was from.

"Man, I'm fromMississippi."

I asked "Ole Miss or MSU?"

"Hell, dude I don't go to college, I just blah, blah, blah, racial slur - racial slur, blah, blah, racism, blah, blah."

My response: "Didn't go to college??? Well that's obvious..."

I'm glad I didn't find my name when I did a search in this thread :dopey:

I joined a low PP room one night and picked out my car. I entered the track and started doing laps when the host asks me if I'm going to change my tires. I had put sport mediums on and asked him if he had a certain requirement and he started laughing and said you can use whatever you want. He then asks me another two or three times and I ask again what kind of tires he wants us to use. He tells me the same thing so I keep doing laps around the track, I then hear a goodbye and see the you have been kicked. I wish I could write the 🤬 heads name here, it sucked doing nothing wrong and having to go find a new room.

If a room has the tires unrestricted, you need to pick Racing Soft. A car that's not on RS in a room full of RS tires will cause a problem.

I believe I was there when you were kicked. Hosted by a Brit, right? We kept calling you "Snip-erbob". We typically don't have patience for people who don't have the experience to know what kind of tires they need. If you can't figure out the tires, you're not fast and clean enough to stay.

LOL! Now, people need to be mind readers, too!

Unrestricted = unrestricted.

The only problems him running non-RS tires would cause, is if he would have beaten you guys on your RS tires. ;)

I'd really like to play online, but I'm not able to due to "parental control restrictions", I'm 16 and had the parental controls removed about 2 years ago now, although I am on a sub-account if that's what is causing it. :-/

Hah hah, yeah...although that's very unlikely. The difference between SM and RS tires on a typical 2 mile track is a good 10+ seconds per lap. The difference between my slow cars and fast cars at a given pp level is usually less than 3 seconds.

Disagree. I don't often let people finish qualifying, and if a SH car was up front, they'd cause a problem.

Furthermore, if a SH car was in mid pack and they tried to hang with the lead cars, they would brake late into turn 1 and smash everyone out the way.

I have no desire to let people run in my rooms if they don't have a shot to win the race. As a result, we kick people without hesitation.

Lol, not the worst, far from, but me and this guy were discussing in a party today, he said the Chapparrel 2J was totally fair to run against other cars in same PP class, because more downforce = less speed, and therefore, he was actually at a disadvantage, and claimed that the better laps were his driving. Voice chat was on, and I heard host actually snorting whatever he was drinking up through his nose, laughing, and proceeded to kick him. Lol.

I was making a small joke. I knew what you meant about causing problems as their braking patterns would certainly be different, however, if he was a seasoned racer, he would be braking earlier on those tires, not later. 👍

The interesting thing is that it would have taken 1-3 seconds to tell him Racing Softs were preferred. Who is to say whether he was good enough to hang with "superstars" or not, when he didn't even get a chance. Unless you have already raced with him, of course. ;)

Sure, he put on lower tires, but maybe he likes a challenge.

I always tell them they're on the wrong tires. I only tell them one or two times though and then they've blown it. If they have to ask clarifying questions, then they are too thick to check what everyone else is on, and too thick to be fast.

Quite possible, but it appears from his initial post that no one said anything about the preferred tires. However, you were not the host at that time, so it's understandable. 👍

I'm sorry I failed my mind reading class at university...

Yup that was him, I got a good chuckle out of his pronunciation of my name.

So because I can't magically figure out that I am required to have racing softs that makes me a bad racer and I get booted

And I understand that completely, it just would have been nice to have it explained.

I was asked many times if I was going to switch tires, I even asked if they had a special requirement but was not told of any.

It's just a stupid racing game, I go on there to have a challenge with something other than AI and to have fun. My good experiences far outweight the bad ones and a majority of people on there are good.

I've been kicked out of rooms with all americans cause I'm canadian getting sick of that

Thats odd because the majority of time I'm in a fun lobby it had lots of great Canadian racers!

I had a bit of a problem racing online shuffle races the other day. I was racing cleanly and consistently running at the front. But, I had a bad race because I had the black screen pause before the start, so by the time my car left the start line I was 35 seconds behind. I finished in 10th out of 12 cars and 1 new driver joined the lobby so I started the next race at Laguna Seca in 4th place.

I got a very good start and was second place leading into the first corner. But the guy in 1st place decided to knock all the cones over and cut the pitlane. He led into turn 2 and I followed him round, often having to brake early and back out of the apex to avoid a collision. It was a good battle, until of course I got past him. Second to last corner I passed him and then he rammed me into the gravel on the final corner.

I was second into turn one and again he cut the pitlane and the first corner. I got a better exit and beat him into the first of the right handers. In the second fast right hander he rammed me and knocked me wide onto the gravel once more. The cars behind us were pretty far as boost was off so it was just us at the front. Once again I was chasing him and overtook him on the straight before the fast left under the bridge. I knew by now he was dirty, so I drove a defensive line and braked super early for the corkscrew. He braked late and I got a much better exit, but ke kept up until the final corner, where he pushed me wide once more.

This time he was wiser into turn one and didn't cut, but he did take out all the braking markers to try and slow me down 👎 It didn't help because I still nailed turn one and came out infront. I drove a defensive line into the right hander and he got a better exit. But, knowing I was faster, he lifted off and used me as a bumper for the next right hander, pushing me wide again. I drove cautiously trying to find a way past, but every time I did he would use my car as a bumper for the next corner. I got better drive on the main straight and took him into turn 1. I went defensive for the next turn again, going so tight he couldn't hit me. As a result he was coming up quick behind me between the two right handers, so I did something silly and brake tested him on the middle of the straight, giving him a penalty. I know I shouldn't really give in... but my car is not a brake, or an apex, and he certainly would have lined his car up to repeat his actions on previous laps. Once I was able to drive without the threat of being rammed I pulled out a lead of several seconds.

I get a lot of clean racing online, but there are always those races with the dirty drivers who just will not give up. He payed the price for his dirty driving, if he wants to ram me, i'll let him.

on that note, I haven't bought/used a bluetooth in years until a few months ago. I have the Motorola HS801. It worked fine when I got it, let it sit for about 4 years and then dug it out of the closet.

It works fine but I think the battery is shot - it stops working after only 5 minutes or so, I'm guessing the battery just won't hold a charge anymore. Don't think these batteries are really replaceable so I will likely just buy a new headset.

Will a regular $20 phone bluetooth headset be sufficient?

Ecchi-BANZAII!!
Yes it works.
I rather use keyboard and disable mic when I host.
That prevents :dunce: people from disturbing the game.

The USB keyboard is a wonderful thing, I use mine to keep up a flow of perfectly coherent and well-worded comments and complaints at all the crap online, rather than try complaining on mic and getting nothing but 'lol ur a girl n00b, boobs' and all that...

Yup, better yet though on Newegg.com theres a LG bluetooth for $10 bucks that works great with the PS3 and you can use it for 5 hours or more before the battery needs to be recharged. 👍
