We don't come here to find clean races, we come here to have a laugh at some of these people online. We all know how to find a room but maybe we aren't that good and want SRF.

My post was pointed towards all the ppl whining like "online is dead. Only find 13 year olds with faul language and red bull spacecrafts.. I will put my modem on fire and play offline... FOREVER!:grumpy:"

I was just online jammin' in a free run server on Nurburgring. It was a really good one. I'm in my Mini blah blah blah. There's a Monaro and a Furai hanging around me. They were such bad drivers, I caught up to their speed. Then when we cam to the Mutkurve (Go google a Nurburgring map and find it) and they both went into the wall. I exited and went into Watch and found a group of 4 drivers. They came up to Mutkurve, and all rammed the wall. 2 more came. They hit the wall to. Do people not know what the brake button was?!!? They went straight into the wall! Except one in a Loctite NSX JGTC car who went wide, but still hit the wall. Pretty sad.

Hey! I was in that room with you!
Driving the Cervo LOL.

Racing with NASCAR at daytona, 10 laps I got the lead by 8 laps and in the last curve the guy behind of me hit me and sent me off the track to the grass, I finished last after leading the entire race, since then I avoid every NASCAR race @ Daytona

You were? Awesome! When I first went into replay I took a look at your Cervo. You were going into the pits when I took a look. I went to the others to see them go around that one corner. Nice Cervo. :P

This is why I always host with penalties and damage at max, otherwise there is no reason to stop people driving like terrorists bouncing off the walls and running into you.
I had this noob last night tell me there was "no point in having damage on." No point in driving properly, Really? Needless to say he was hopeless, drove like a lunatic and wrote his car off on the third corner, 1st lap. He then quit the race, typed some verbal abuse then left.

I think its sad so many people want to play a simulator minus most the challenge and reality. It's like playing a FPS with an invinciblity code on, no damage. Man up and learn how to drive to whom this concerns!

Its also sad how 95% of players you come across quit if they aren't going to come first. These people need to learn that the world does not revolve around them. If everyone quit out everytime they weren't going to come first no one would ever earn experience, make money or go up a level in any game ever. Grow up and stop being selfish little pricks. Rant over!

Just imagine the amount of people driving backwards if we had a more realistic damage model.Maybe 5 times what we have now?
Not trying to defend PD here just stating a serious consequence.

They play to much A-Spec. I had a server open once using only the Recommended FF cars. On High Speed Ring, 15 drivers at start. It's a 10 lap race. At the end of the race. Only 2. A good driver and me. Only 2 others stayed in the server. How pathetic. Damage on Heavy and everything "hardcore."

Online makes me sad. :( To the Online Section of GTPlanet!

Ferrari F1 lobby - We had a raining race at Suzuka, we had a good host, and we had half the room using TCS. So I was 3rd to become host, we had about 10 people, and then the host quits the race (disconnected) and then a noob becomes the host. Yipee, the noob did what all noobs do, go to Daytona, made it 2 laps, and put all damage, penalties, tire-wear, and tire restrictions off. He turned on all the aids possible and then started the race when everyone was still tuning. We all managed to make it in time, but when it started, the host went on a rampage and hit every car he saw. 🤬 that guy, and so after the race people said, "Indy!" so, he stayed at Daytona. Shocker for him, we had called reject votes on him, he left, but it was too late for me. The whole room was filled with oval-noobs and as soon as I went back to F1 rain Suzuka w/ all the restrictions/tire wear/damage on and aids off, everyone left the room. So it took me about 30 minutes to find other people to race, but they were British/German, which was fine, nice people, until the connection issues. To be honest, if you want to find a good F1 lobby with nice people, try to find people from European servers. That is until you see a lobby that is on real tracks and a lot of people plus "fixed host status" to get good races.

People online race like every lap is a qualifier, instead of pacing themselves. I'm sure most of your 10 fell on the first corner. The funny thing is they are ripping themselves off because if they stayed in and pitted to repair their damage they may well have won or at least not come last.

And as if quitting out is going to hide your shameful performance, I got you on replay fool, and it just makes you look worse.

whats WORST is the people with x2010...

they go into servers, and just ram the hell out of you, 🤬 up your races, or just be 🤬 in general

its like 'look at me look at my car im so special because i have this'

dont realize every single 🤬 person has one of these, you arent cool man, just go away.

i was in a nuburgring cruise server, and this japanese guy hopped in his x1 and was going the wrong way on the track, ramming everyone he saw. lobby leader of course was afk, which is pretty much normal, and basically like half the server left, the other half got in their x1's and tried to counter - ram him, I applaud their efforts and all, but either way i cant have fun.

ANOTHER thing that grinds my gears:

get all excited when i see honda / ff races, jdm, ect. spend 3 minutes connecting to the server and all the idiots have viper acr's and enzo's, total waste of my time. I wish you could see what people are driving BEFORE you enter.

People that host Drift lobbys then preceed to get in there R34 or other 4WD on racing softs and throw themselves at walls hoping to get around the corner sideways. And if you just so happen to be going into a corner where they are about to be well then your S*** outta luck, because you;ll end up in a wall, they'll end up in a wall, but because they are in an 4WD, they just cruise away as if nothing ever happened, and here you are struggling to get out of the dirt.

Online on GT5 is much better than games like F1 2010. The people you loathe on that game stick to X2010s and TGTT free run lobbies. Still you do get pricks though.

Same with wangan servers. "Wangan JDM" = Corvettes, Vipers, a Ford GT, and a couple of X1s.
I hate these servers too.

I've never finished a race on F1 2010 without being the only person left... Even a 3 lap race has people quit before the first lap is finished.

I raced GT5 online for the first time in a while the other day, no bad experience really (for those put off by the majority of stories / reports in this thread). However, why does every single race need to be on racing softs?...

The only time I quit a race would be times when I'm dead last and spins in the last lap, and my car is messed up.
But I have a theory that's pretty logical when you think about it.
People who always happen to be the guys in the far back. Could it be That they get bored being outclassed? I'm afraid that if you count the unsuccessful drivers you will have more of those then you ever can find drivers successfully managing cornering. These people with the lack of skill want their aids or they will quit in frustration. No biggie.
BUT! among the quitters we have a few skillfull ones! These are the guys i just cant stand and I will kick them ASAP. I'm talking about the ragequiters.:yuck: Luckily my microphone helps me out here since i always laugh and tease those who don't have the mentality to make a comeback in tough times or even isn't trying.

Once again I fail to make up "my worst scenario" ;(. I always see the bright side of things i guess.

Quitting... is ok? Not when I'm around. I never quit even if I'm being lapped. :)

I was just in another free run server on Nurburgring, I saw that a tank car and delta s4 rally car were blocking anyone and everyone on the straight. At the beginning. I fooled them multiple times. By waiting as a ghost until they left me alone to sneaking past the road block. One of them was the host. I'm just glad he didn't boot me. I was having fun with a pair of RM Elises. I was driving my autocross tuned S2000, no aero. Excess information. :P

I generally never quit races unless I have like an important phonecall come in.

Otherwise there is only one time I can think of that stands out in my mind. I was doing a 4 lap Nurburgring 24 hr course race with 16 cars and full damage. In the first corner some asswipe barreled in from the back bashing the crap out of me and about 6 other cars, to the point my steering wheel was sideways and my car was sputtering along. I told the guy "thanks dick" an I quit the race. At that point there was no point, I'm at the first corner I'm not gonna waste almost 40 minutes doing a race fighting to keep the car on the track for the first 10+ minutes till I can get to the pits for repair since the whole thing was skewed sideways that I maybe would come in 12th at best but likely worse since I got the brunt of the wreck.

I was in a freerun room testing my tuned S800 RSC Race Car When a dude crashed into me with a X2010 and kept crashing into me. Every car I used to drive, he would ram into me every time I passes him. Then I told the host to kick him, Ignores me. He tells the host to kick me out, I get kicked out. I'm really steamed why did I get kick out when I wasn't doing anything to him. I'm starting to think GT5 is now being over taken by little kids who curse up a storm and start flame wars. I'm going to quit Online racing for a while and only go online with my buds when they invite me. This is getting ridiculous and out of hand.

EDIT. I edited the name out due to the GTPlanet policy.

i think thats why GT5 has the boost system, even if you fall to last place you can still 'stay with the pack'

although most of the time people dont use it, but it definitely helps the rage-quits

(i must admit, there have been a few times where i was getting absolutely destroyed in a race, when i just picked the wrong car, no point in staying for the last 5 laps)

Hmm, I've raced in Heavy Damage rooms before and the damage eventually resets itself after driving a little ways more, no? You don't have to go to the pits to fix it, do you?

Just curious, as I know I've been in races where Heavy damage was on and my front wheel gets bent, messing up the steering, or the engine won't power-up (red dot in middle front of car), but they go away after driving a bit more. Or am I confused?

Saw that fool in the Daytona drive/chill lobbies. At first he tried and I swerved out to let him eat the walls. He tried the same $#!t to me again, I brought out my Toyota X Runner... end of story.
I just beat @$$holes in their own game. You crash me, I slam you into the wall. You pit me, I'm going in reverse and will be haulin' at your @$$. I blame Battlefield Bad Company 2.

Thats Medium damage, full damage is there until you get to the pits to fix it, not only that its WAY worse, in this case I literally had the steering wheel at 90 degrees to go straight.

How do you guys react when your following somone on the racing line and they brake before you and you ent up hitting them? i do that alot :/

just raced with that guy crash was talking about go and he tried to take me out but i slammed on the brakes and he hit the front of my car with his back of his and spun himself out. he rage quit

That means you are following too close. You need to understand that your stopping distance will be longer, and hit the brakes early.

If you're doing that a lot, it means you need to be less aggressive. That move counts as dirty and would get you booted from my lobby.
