I agree with that... what they should have in GT5 is a rep thing... so if someone gets kicked out, with a VALID reason, there is - rep added, and for good hosts/racers, plus rep is added.
And then those with - rep are not allowed to host rooms etc, or are monitored...

Good idea, but how would you put that into practice? If you leave it up to the users, everyone would get a bad tag by some jerk you inevitably encounter. Hence the system becoming obsolete and no one pays attention to it anymore. Just like with the "Report"-function on the PSN. Back to square one.
And monitoring the entirety of GT5 players by admins is neither financially nor practically possible.

I was doing a NASCAR race, I think it was 9 Laps at Daytona. One guy was in a Nissan GTR Spec-V. Everyone was telling the host to boot the guy, and the host wouldn't! During the race, the GTR guy was VERY reckless, and he took me out as I was racing for the lead with two to go!

About the subject of quitting in a race, I do not usually quit, but it happens occasionally.
But, I mean... If I'm driving in 2nd place, trying to pass the first place car. This was on the last lap of a "Clean - Roadcars" lobby. And on the finish straight of SSR5 (this was just at the beginning of the last lap), I pass the leading car and I manage to get 3 meters ahead of him... And then, BAM. He rams into me at 300 km/h per hour. I get a 5 second collision penalty, heavy damage all over the car, and end up dead last. No chance to catch up. So, I 'ragequitted'. I do think you shouldn't quit even if you are gonna finish last and try to keep racing, but I think what I did was rightfully done due to the circumstances. I didn't feel like continuing since it would be pointless anyway. But would the general consensus be as I claim?

Good point... I'm thinking that with when the rep gets a -, a copy of all the text messages/ voice/ online incidents get logged for review. You have to state a specific incident and approx time for it the big guys to look at. Then act upon. Obviously won't happen, but it could work...

I agree that it would be cumbersome. But they could at least start to just scan the lobby names. You would already filter out a bunch of people that don't belong in a proper online community.
As for the jerk behavior of giving everyone a bad tag, I agree that will happen. But that also means that proper players will have a similar amount of bad tags after a while, while real dirty players, users that don't show proper behavior, etc. will accumulate a lot more of these after a while. And that's where they can be identified.

Currently I use the 'report' button, but as you cannot give a reason for the report, I wonder what effect it has and if it's being looked at...

Yeah, lets reward cheaters who kick everyone!

It is kinda hard to find actually good people online, I had a really odd fight against a 13 year old kid who rammed whoever tried to pass him and then claimed others as rammers, many did ragequit but host didnt do anything about it (must be because of the rammer, host were able to drive all alone in the lead)

It is well known fact that accidents will happen but sometimes people shouldnt use that as a excuse.

Dirty room. Bumpin, grinding crashing punting etc. I brake checked once. Was yelled at and apologized. Still kicked oh well.

On the flip side of everything. Going in the final lap on an f-1 track (cant member the name). I braked a lil to hard. Dude slams right into the back of me,completly knocking me to the back of the field. He apologized immensely like 20 times. All was fine,i was just happy to see that he was sincerely sorry. Needless to say i friended him right away, have had epic online races every since

I entered a room last night for 305hp cars, RM and RC allowed. Seeing that it was Suzuka East, my 111R RM was just the ticket. First race, the mic morons start bagging on my flag, and it gets worse as the race goes on. As I pass a Furai (!?!?) for first I get punted into the sand. OK, now I know who to watch for. Next race I squirt cleanly between two others at T1 to fetch up behind the Furai again, who punts me yet again when I try to pass him. OK, it's on. 2nd lap I pass him on the outside of T1, and the venom laced profanities raised in pitch until he was screaming like a little girl. He raised doubts about my lineage, sexual orientation, and endowment, in which a couple of other mic morons joined in. Seeing that I'd beat the field cleanly by 3 secs on a 2 lap SE race, I texted "Nothing but a bunch of loudmouthed losers" and left. I got three congratulatory messages afterward from the real racers that were in the room. I saved that replay, it's very satisfying to watch.

In theory I'm with you all the way, that could work if you could state the reason for your complaint. And if you stuck to the chat section the text document would take less space. Leaves out what is said over the microphone.

I can't understand how a game that filters out that many words and censors a complete sentence has no function forbidding deragotary naming of rooms. I have no problem if some people want to stick together, but I really hate how that is worded sometimes.

Last night, got reported by a Japanese guy for "hacking and cheating" during a Rally Race, because I brought out an Alfa 155 Touring Car when everyone was using Escudos and maxxed out Impreza RMs. I understand the Alfa isn't supposed to go offroad, but how in the hell did I cheat? Better yet, how did I 'hack'? I even tried to explain to the guy how I glitched the car, but I was kicked regardless. Needless to say, I was NOT happy. At least I got kicked with $10,000 extra after I rightfully dominated them. :sly:

A 4 Hours of Nurburgring server. More like 17 minutes because X2010s kept punting the host into the dirt. He then left, taking the server with him. He sent me a PM afterwards saying "You were (I Was) the most mature driver there. Thanks."

It's not too often you meet guys like that, is it? 👍

There are never any 520pp or less servers that don't use racing softs.

So unrealistic and boring..

I was in a 450pp Sports Soft server for quite a while a couple of days ago. But you're right, there's not enough. Especially for cars that can't break 150mph it makes no sense to run Race Softs, takes half the enjoyment out of driving those. It feels like driving a formula one car with the top 4 gears locked out.

I scored a stalker! A few nights back I was in a room where one guy punted me EVERY time I tried to pass him. I called him on it and he denied, vehemently. After another race where he puts me in the dirt, I leave, posting "M...F..... (his handle), you're ridiculous"
The next night I'm in another room, and M...F...... shows up. Right away he's on the mic "Flogger, what was that remark?" and then descended into a profanity laced screaming fit. I could hear his wife trying to calm him down. I don't engage crazy people, so I ignored him. A bunch of other people got on mic and called him out, saying that he's been ruining rooms for a while, and then he got kicked. Surprise, surprise, I had a message in my inbox, him wanting to go 1 on 1 with me. I replied "You have issues, you must deal with them. You'll sleep better after." Then I blocked him.

I had one of my worst sessions last night. I was racing in shuffle mode and was constantly being punished with my car selection. It started with the Berlinette coupè. Difficult to drive, but it was quick and I was having a good battle for 1st until I got punted wide on the last lap. Next car was the Nissan Primera, rather under powered especially for the full Nurburgring circuit :/ . Next up was the Starlet Glanza, the Toyota Levin ae86 , Mazda Familia Sedan, Nissan Silvia '90 (actually won this race by 12 seconds), and then shunned back into the Starlet Glanza again.

Rather unfairly, everyone else was being put in Integra's, Mitshibushi EVO's, Subaru Legacy's, FTO's etc. I was over 100hp down in pretty much every race. Talk about the game being repeatedly unfair! I could start in 1st position and end up last in the drag to first corner!

I was in a room about two nights ago. there were two guys seemed to be pretty buddy buddy on the mic. After I finally got my car tuned on the second race to be able to compete with the front runners one of the guys would either run me off the road or punt me every time I got ahead of him. usually about 3rd place. Then he would complain to his buddy the host that I was drving dirty.

That used to happen quite often. You'd get your ride all dialed in, become a contender, then the host/friends would do whatever to keep you at the back. I've heard folks say, "Just race with friends only". That sounds great, but friends aren't always available and the real allure is racing strangers.

I was in a Free Run server on Nurburgring (As most of my stories are) and I'm running around in my Alfa 147. :D Then I suddenly get rammed full force in the rear by a 787B? No effect on him whatsoever but I was spinning for 10 seconds straight. What's wrong with people? No one ever respects the slower cars on Nurburgring. Did they ever read the AMG Driving Academy thing? It says slow cars to right, and faster cars to the left. Like in real life it said. Yet, I get people nudging, pushing, punting, ramming, and sliding against me. I move to the right and allow them a pass, yet they don't seem to possess the driving skills to make a successful pass. I have had only 3 successful, clean passes on Nurburgring EVER. Meaning, I don't mess up, or the other driver doesn't mess up. 3 is pretty sad.

Does anyone ever encounter the Deadly First 4 in Nordscheife races? The first 4 corners always end up me in the back spinning and getting hit.

I havent had the deadly first four persay, but I did have a nice one (as in good sized pileup) with my Silvia RM in the first two corners, first lap of SSR7.. we were just racing.. you know, like normal people, the Silvia had gotten into into 3rd place and seemed like it was going to stay there for the race (the two cars ahead of it were Furais).. We get up the left hand sweeper, all is well... however it was the right hand hairpin afterward that caused the wreck, I hit the brakes coming out of the turn.. you know going in aggressive, and because the Silvia was in front of the pack.. there was clearly the one dolt who didnt have a clue what a braking point was, or had bad connection, so basically the Silvia got slammed in the rear by the entire rest of the field thanks to the narrow road.. and was subsequently demolished, as was all the rest of the cars involved in said pileup, people need to learn how to brake!

I was kicked yesterday because the host was a Test Drive Unlimited 2 fanboy. I was with my friend while we were discussing how boring TDU2 is now. Then the host screams ballisticly in his mic saying GT5 is horrible, and saying it (TDU2) is far more amazing. Then he kicked everyone in the room, which they hate TDU2 aswell.

Sorry but that one's kind of funny.

Then... why is he playing GT5? Why does GT5 have more sales? (Correct me if I'm wrong)

Very funny though.

This made my day:

I was in a 1/4 drag room, having a good time with my buds. Then here comes this guy from Spain in a Ferrari 599, smashing into everyone then promptly typing "HAHAHA". The host, not surprisingly, was in the pits showing no signs of life. Since apparently not everyone knew how to call a reject vote, I took matters into my own hands. I opened up the chat box and typed:

*25 line breaks

Hacking "his PSN"'s Account.
Progress 1%

Then 10 seconds later...

*25 line breaks

Progress 11%

Then 5 seconds later...

See you next time!!

"His PSN" has left the room.

:D

Cracked me up. Those line breaks, they're useful for all kinds of things...
