Well, the championship is wide open now.

Loeb, Ogier and Hirvonen could take the title with just 2 rounds left to run.

I just hope that if it comes down to Loeb and Ogier, there are no team orders and the fastest driver wins.

Better yet, Ford has confirmed they are going to use the 'Black Attack' livery for the Rally of France. Pure awesomeness.

True. That matt black finish increased Ford's performance on tarmac by 1 sec/km :). Jari-Matti won 7 stages, including the Power Stage and would be contending for victory if it wasn't for the gravel detour in Stage 3. I wouldn't believe it a few rallies ago.

We are lucky to have such an interesting Season Final with 3 drivers within 3 points.
The results so far weren't representative of the true balance of powers between Ford and Citroen.

Great performance by the flying Dutchman Dennis Kuipers last weekend!!!

5th overall,best placed Dutchman ever...

I almost forgot, Daniel Sordo with his MINI finished in 2nd place during the recent French Rally. Pretty impressive for a brand new car I'd say...

Got a funny feeling loeb will take rally de espane and mikko will take the welsh rally, and it will come down to who can pick up those extra points c'mon mikko.

It seems their all struggling with the visiblity in the dust, obviously they have never done a 16 player race onlie around chamonix.

Hirvonen is going to be around 4th this rally unless the Citroens go out, I can see Loeb winning this and getting 2nd behind Latvala in Wales.

I don't share your optimism. Loeb has to be the odds-on favourite for the championship.

Loeb wins in Spain, with Hirvonen second after Latvala conceded second place to him. Ogier retired on the final leg of the day, and is effectively out of the championship race.

It was not a complete disaster for Hirvonen; Loeb could only manage third on the power stage behind the Minis after Meeke and Sordo judged the conditions accurately; they were both five seconds faster than Loeb. However, Loeb now has an eight-point lead going into Britain.

Again the flying Dutchman in the top ten...a little happy(ish) moment on yet another very sad motorracing sunday...

I have nothing but respect and awe at Loeb's ability to pull it out the bag 8 times in a row. He has repeatedly proved he doesn't need team orders, weak teammates or weak opponents. He has genuinely earned these 8 just by being so consistently quicker than everyone else and making far far less mistakes.

Shame that WRC is terrible to follow these days. Loeb now has records far more impressive than Rossi or Schumacher yet the average person won't have heard his name.

I can't believe the Rally GB organisers haven't used the likes of the Dyfi stages and Gartheiniog for fifteen years.

unfortunate for Hirvonen...Latvala was on point. The title would be decided before the rall ended. Somebody was going to mess up.

Darn loeb lol. Atleast that means he gets more money to invest in his new startup Lemans team!

The age of Loeb. A great champion!

I wonder if Hirvonen will be able to become a world champion or if Latvala and others will go past him and his role will be the one of challenger for the whole of his career.

No! Mads Ostberg is struggling with engine problems! This has been his most convincing performance since Sweden, hopefully he'll hold onto 3rd.

Well done Sébastien Loeb on winning your 8th consecutive championship 👍.

He must have never imagined after losing in 2003 by just a point, he would then dominate for the next 8 championships.

Seems to me like he needs a new challenge.

Thus the reason why he has recently launched Sebastien Loeb Racing aiming for a LMP2 entry into Le Mans by 2014... 💡

Other than that, congratulations to him. I can't say I'm a fan but you have to admit he is quite spectacularly talented, it's a shame until this LMP project comes about we'll never really know how he stacks up against some of the worlds best circuit drivers.

On a final note, WRC has been a massive disappointment to me this year. I'm sure the battles have been close, and that it's been an improvement over previous years (from the brief glimpses I've seen). But it's been impossible to follow properly, the coverage has been utterly shocking.

For a so-called 'World Championship' you hardly hear anything of it. I really hope they get a better TV deal in the UK next year otherwise I can't see it getting anymore popular!

I don't follow news much except on a few different racing series, so sorry...didn't know.

I will say however, kudos to Ken Block for going into the final day of the Rally GB sitting in 10th place overall. Hopefully the car stays together so he can get a good finish under his belt.

I heard that the live coverage on their website will go full time next season, It was only Rally France this year.

It's been bizarre more than anything else. Citroen were winning everything, but Mikko Hirvonen still stayed in the title fight until Dyfnant 1.

The sad thing is that he's still had all of those paving his way, necessary or not. Ever since the Xsara WRC was introduced the Citroën has been nothing but the best car out there (making opponents weak), his team mates have been mostly tarmac specialists (making them weak) and whomever has been ahead of him in a Citroën with the title fight still open has been called to back off with very few exceptions.

It's all very Schumacher-esque, even though he's very good the achievements are tarnished by everybody seeing how they're really done. Without team orders he might have one or two titles less but those remaining titles would be far more credible.
