Actually i don't mind 16 or more cars on a course at the same time.I've seen enough rally drivers crash, that were caught on camera.

Or something like this

Those are specially designed RC circuits though, they are extra wide and have plenty of run off.

I'm not against rally cross, but call it that and do it right, dont throw us in a one lane tight twister to race head to head and call it "Rally".

Since the pictures have been 'removed or deleted' that the original poster of this thread put up can someone tell me what they showed.. anything significantly new or different to what we've seen already??? I've not had the time to go through every page so apologies if I've missed someone else posting this...

As for rallying in Gran Turismo, it's a nice little inclusion but of course for me rallying is and should be about point to point on your own time trialling through narrow rural courses, and as one or two people have mentioned favourably, Richard Burns Rally absolutely nailed this ,especially considering it's several years old now (R.I.P. Richard Burns). I would LOVE Yamauchi-san to at some point in the GT series seriously look at rallying and give it the full attention it deserves. I doubt whatever GT5 will show us will be significantly different to what's come before in the GT games, but I'm happy to take it one step at a time. There's a few developments in GT5 I wasn't sure I would see so I'm happy enough with that, and especially with the perfection of the physics, they've nailed that piece of the puzzle spot on (if the GT Academy demo is a good indicator of what to expect).

One day I'd love the GT games to comprehensively cover most of the quality motorsports we see around the world, maybe one day even having all the F1 tracks and official license... WRC too... you never know, plus as far as money is concerned there should be no problem both in obtaining licenses, as well as in obtaining all the manpower to make it a reality given GT's massive popularity and being a core PlayStation brand.

Indeed many of the pieces are in places quite frankly (the F12007 in GT5:P on Suzuka I'm guessing will be far superior an experience to the upcoming Codemaster official F1 game), and it just requires getting a few more tracks and a slightly improved graphics system and we're good to go. I'm guessing PS4 Gran Turismo will have no excuses not to go all out, and I for one cannot wait. I think GT5 is the last GT outing on the PS3, so hopefully Kazunori will be all guns blazing to make the next ultimate driving simulator! :)

If the gran turismo series will have the WRC license official, i supose all brands of WRC will appear in the game, like we saw Citroen, Ford, Subaru, Suzuki (GT5) and the old ones like Lancia, Audi, Mitsubishi, Peugeot, Toyota and Renault (GT Series), so i ask is possably we will see old cars too like the Alpine-Renault rally, Fiat Abarth, Talbot Sumbeam Lotus, Mercedes and Opel ?

And another question if they have the full license, were is the Czech Republic brand SKODA, they enter recently in the WRC, the last enter was in 2006 or 2007.
So or they are put that brand in secret for when we have the game see or we will not see the Skoda in GT5 ?

What the GTPlanet members think ?

Skoda might be in the info, pd are going to suprise us with RickNU.I guess we'll have to wait & see :).Skoda were pretty competitive in the late 70's-80's, so i hope they are in this time 👍.

I hope you are right Smoke&Slide :)

IIRC the WRC license they hold is for 2008 cars and teams.

I'd love to see them top off the group b and group N rally cars and more vintage 70's RCs. as well as give us the 4WD Citroen XSARA , sucha beautiful car plagued by extreme torque but no grip as its a FF, only drivable with TCS.

I'd like group A rally cars, like the Peugeot 309 GTI, 205 GTI, 106 GTI & Rallye, Talbot Sunbeam Lotus, Vauxhall Chevette HSR 2.3ltr, mk 1/mk 2 Golf GTI, mk 3 Escort & mk 1 Fiesta XR2i etc.Ladas were competitive in the 60's, 70's & 80's too as it happens.Oh & Volvo with the 480 coupe'.Toyota Starlet & the Corollas too.

I have a feeling that PD will dissapoint me with the rally part of the game. To me its not rally if its not possible to hit a tree or some rocks by the road, and a narrow road! What PD have showed on toscana and gt4 is just racing on a dirt track. I think they have done it that way to make it easy for casual gamers. I really hope they suprise me :)

I dont know if PD will do that in the rally part...
I like that too because to me rally its like you say, but i seriosly dont hope they put the game like that, the best they can do is a rally champioship with the rally tracks and the toscany track and i hear and see they maybe will put Japan rally track too, but i dont know.
I want its more cars and tracks xD

The pics in the OP were just screenshots, nothing amazing from the 09 e3 trailer I think. I will update the op soon. I think it's due time... 👍

I have a feeling they will disappoint you too.

^Yeah I will be very suprised if the rally part of GT5 will be as good as Richard Burns Rally. (R.I.P Burns)

Just imagine GT graphics on a track like this and a good damage model

So nice to dream, WRC2010 game has gotten sour reviews. not surprised, graphically inferior, physically inferior, more suited to gamepad, sadly a dedicated WRC game is nothing more than a marketing tool.

Course Maker let us hope you can shine, and be used in GT Mode as randomly generated rally stages.

Reviews, really? Can you post link to at least one review?

I knew it. Blackbean and Milestone once again prove they can't do anything right with racing games and it continues, even with a official license. Looks like thats one official licensed game I won't get.

Ugh, where to begin, the pacenotes are horrendous, no fluidity whatsoever, it sounds like overlayed clips instead of smooth monologue. And they criticize you, the co-driver tells you things like "That was a TERRIBLE section" like hes the Team Manager or something worst part is you cant fire them!

I LOL'ed so hard when he called out a Hairpin Right taken in 2nd or 3rd, that looked more like a Medium 3 Right. SMH.

GT will have to make little effort to top this, even with their head to head "rallycross".

It's shocking that GT5 is probably going to be the best rally game this gen... Dirt has been disappointing, WRC looks like it could be going the same way, Evolution have moved onto Motorstorm so no chance of a WRC game from them, even for PSP...

OK, that's preview of the game send to review, so I guess there will be little to no changes in final release.

The pacenotes are really bad, but actual driving looks challenging.

I like variety in GT, but rally component of the game is rather weak. Not much WRC style of the challenge, more like WRC cars on various tracks/circuits.

Well we don't know the full extent of WRC in GT5 yet, it could be fully fledged, or it could be only a small component, we don't know yet.

Keep in mind that unlike the 2010 WRC game, we still haven't seen the extent of how the license will be used in GT5 so I wouldn't write it off just yet based on only one dirt course shown.

Agreed. I am expecting 2/3 major news at the TGS. They gave them at the GamesCom (Karts,B-Spec and Course Maker), I think they have still some big surprise.
They may be:
- Rally (real extension in the game, possibly P2P tracks)
- Weather (we don't now on which tracks we'll see that but rain is going to come and I can't wait. If dynamic it will be wonderful)

I also think they will keep something for the launch days.

man if weather is in the rally modes than that would blow my mind!!!! i cant wait til info comes from tgs and im sure it wont disappoint afterall this is the year for gt5

Rally Japan going on from september 10 through 12. Maybe some news? GT5 pods or something...

They have been really quiet with their WRC plans...

Unless they have none:ouch:

There is quite alot of things they have been quiet on so WRC might be one that they have holding close to their chest, especially since Milestone & Blackbean releases their WRC game about a month or so before GT5.

I know Blackbean has been showing their WRC game at official WRC events, GT5 was @ Neste Finland Ralli but seeing as how WRC The Game is releasing in less than a month, they probably wouldn't want to put it side by side with GT5's C4 and Toscana! #upstaged.
