I agree with what you are saying, but if you'd played WRC2 and WRC3 which were huge in comparison, you would understand what I mean about the game being short.
The game is fun, but in WRC2 there were so many stages (9 x 16 rallys) around 130 stages, whereas this game has 3 x 16 stages.
Also the longest stages are under 4 minutes, whereas there were a few stages in WRC2 that took over 10 minutes! I remember one stage taking nearly 15 minutes!
With WRC2 it would take you a couple of days to play through a whole championship on expert mode. It was tailored with 3 stages per rally for novice, 6 for professional and 9 for expert, whereas this version only has 3 per rally.
Even after playing through WRC2 three or 4 times I could never remember all the turns which gave the unpredicatability of rally more excitement. This latest game is so short that it becomes a time trial game where you know every single corner quite quickly (in comparison to WRC2) making your co-pilot a bit pointless and in no time you will know the next corner anyway.
This latest game is best played with all 3 driving aids turned off. Leaving them on is far too easy wheras taking them off provides a good challenge even in Novice.
