WRC: Rally Evolved! *UPDATE*

WRC4 is great, but I'm not too sure about all this forest fire rubbish. Its not exactly something you see in real WRC events. If there was a forest fire on the stage they would cancel it.

There should be an option to switch these 'fantasy' options on or off.

I do like the stricken cars though. Basically most of the stuff is fine as long as you don't see the same thing every stage. Usually when something is listed as a major feature it ends up being overused :nervous:

Well, I sure hope they do release it in the US. In WRC 2 there was very little sense of speed, and I kept hitting the rev limiter all the time because I usually drive by sound and sight rather than looking at the instruments. With no sense of how fast the car was going I could never tell good shift points.

I feel that WRC2 was a waste of time, WRC3 was what WRC2 SHOULD have been, and WRC4 is quite a good step again.

I haven;t played WRC4 for a while; one of my great disappointments with most rally games (particularly RBR and to a lesser extent WRC4) are the Super 1600 cars. I have yet to find one in a game that doesn't seem like a last-minute tacked on extra. These cars are just as exciting to watch as the WRCars and sound so much better.

Great, the sooner the better!

I've read somewhere that this time they´ll release an American version. But if they don´t I'll get the EU version anyway.

Looks okay, I just hope it's better then WRC 3 because that was utter crap. I regret buying that unplayable boring mess of a game, I find it shocking that some people call thsoe games realistic. I do like the idea of wrecked cars etc staying on the track, sounds cool as it means that the cars may be fully destructable in a way that if you hit a tree, your out.

Yeah. Looking at the screenshots i can tell it will be a great mass of fun playability and realism.

And i comes out right after i get paid!

Just watched the video, it looks great. Did anyone else notice that the fighting driver & co-driver were always ford drivers?

Whilst the random events are good, the stages are shorter than any other WRC game. There are now a paltry 3 stages per rally instead of the usual 6 or 9.

In wrc2 a rally could last up to 30 to 40 minutes. In this a whole rally only lasts 10 minutes with all 3 stages (if you're lucky).

What there is, is good, but the whole point of rally is not knowing what the next corner is going to be like. Due to the very short and few tracks in this game you'll no all the stages in know time.

Big disappointment - don't be fooled by the gimmicks! :nervous:

I don't know, this is the first WRC game I got but I'm loving it. Each rally has three stages only but there's a lot of countries to go. Plus there are a lot of playing modes besides the championship mode, and lots of cars too.

The graphics are awesome, the physics are pretty good in my opinion, the speed is great, the visual and mechanic damage is pretty good, and best of all it features Portuguese language. 👍

Also for those of you who live in Europe there's online mode which makes the replay value higher.

I'd give it a 9.0 ou of 10.

I agree with what you are saying, but if you'd played WRC2 and WRC3 which were huge in comparison, you would understand what I mean about the game being short.

The game is fun, but in WRC2 there were so many stages (9 x 16 rallys) around 130 stages, whereas this game has 3 x 16 stages.

Also the longest stages are under 4 minutes, whereas there were a few stages in WRC2 that took over 10 minutes! I remember one stage taking nearly 15 minutes!

With WRC2 it would take you a couple of days to play through a whole championship on expert mode. It was tailored with 3 stages per rally for novice, 6 for professional and 9 for expert, whereas this version only has 3 per rally.

Even after playing through WRC2 three or 4 times I could never remember all the turns which gave the unpredicatability of rally more excitement. This latest game is so short that it becomes a time trial game where you know every single corner quite quickly (in comparison to WRC2) making your co-pilot a bit pointless and in no time you will know the next corner anyway.

This latest game is best played with all 3 driving aids turned off. Leaving them on is far too easy wheras taking them off provides a good challenge even in Novice.

I turned the braking assists off, but the other two I left about middle since I never played the series before. Maybe I'll turn them off too when I get more used to the game.
