MisterWeary
"The act of racing your own car at a race track until your tyres are fried."

Case in point:

What's wrong with that? You can't see the Wires yet. :sly:

I don't know if you can get them to fit your Malaysian screamer but you should try these next time you do a track day, (trust me you'll do more, it's like a drug :) ).

They won't last long, (I did a day at Brands Hatch short circuit and killed 'em), but they're super sticky.

Nice work keeping the camera still, last time I tried it looked like it was attached to the front of the space shuttle. The shaking, not the speed. :)

SWEEEEEEEEET!!!! I can't wait to be able to do that... I could've gone earlier this year but my car wasn't really ready for such an event and I didn't have the money anyway.

Yes it is like a drug...all that adrenalin! Highly recommend it to all driving enthusiasts 👍

Glad you and your Dad had a good day Colby. It is fun, init?

However, try it on a 160mph/115Bhp bike.....................Then the adrenalin flows baby!

Especially if you're on road tyres because you have to ride 80 miles to and from the track to do it!( :scared:)

Hmmph!

Bloody cage drivers! Don't know they're born!;)
6 wheels, seat-belts, air-bags, sips, ABS, etc,etc..............

Well they have motor bike track days at that track and after looking at some of the photos I don't think riding bikes at their limit is for me...I'll leave that to Valentino :sly: 👍

Right there with ya Colby.

Riding bike's at their limit is for psycho's with smaller brains than me. :sly:

I've done track days with both cars and bikes, (on different days of course). My self preservation instinct kick's in too quickly on a bike and I don't own a motorhome. ;)

Did a day at Knockhill a few years ago on a friends wife's (8 month old :nervous: ) R6.

hillcircuitmap.jpg

That pic doesn't show the elevation changes, some of which change quite violently mid corner . Great circuit to ride but I would have been much faster on my own bike. Mine had been sent to the big scrapyard in the sky a few months earlier via a quick 1/4 mile trip down the road on it's side. Well one side, then the other, then the seat unit, then.....you get the picture. :grumpy:

Cars on the other hand I tend to be a lot braver. I particularly liked grinning at stunned Elise drivers as I passed them in my old Mini. The look on that guys face is an image I will take to my grave.

So, when's the next one Weary? :D

Best of luck to everyone over the next few weeks! I proabably wont be racing in a while. This weekend my integra owners group is heading up to the dragon/deals gap. www.tailofthedragon.com check out the site to see what the road is all about.

After that I have to get my tonsils removed. Which aparently hurts very badly at this age and recovery will take atleast 2 weeks so I wont be in much shape for OLR. After that its off to school, but this school year I do hope to make time for WRS. I want to keep my skills up so If Duke asks me back to Guthrie United for BC7 I want to make a decent showing.

Ill proabably be around posting for the next few weeks though!

It's not the size of the brain that's important, it's the ability to remove it.

And to be honest Darren, I would say a motorhome would be one hell of a place to keep the matchbox needed for yours mate.:sly:

You'd be a strong addition to their team! That'd be awesome if you could race next year, maybe I'll go up against ya? :)

Speaking of going out in the cars... I'm headed up to canada tomorrow afternoon and will be driving, partying, swimming, cruising, sleeping, camping, having a TON of fun up there with a bunch of people from my Volvo forums... Been working on my car the last two days doing a couple things here and there getting it ready. Feels great with the new poly bushings in the rear!!! 1k miles here I come!

I'm shocked and offended you would imply my brain is small enough to fit into a match box. :grumpy:

An empty fag packet at least! :dunce:

Actually, it's not an insult really.

The fear reponse is governed by:

"The lateral nucleus of the amygdala, the small, almond-sized part of the brain responsible for mediating emotions."

Oh, and a small number of cells in the testicles produce the chemical stathmin which can block the fear response too, which means that the phrase " Having the balls for it" is actually true!

Hi all,

I haven't been around the WRS for the last few weeks as I seem to have no spare time anymore, but I thought I'd find out what the deal was with holl01 and his trip to Paris?

Did he go? Did he win? Did he lose? Is he still waiting to leave?

He came fourth but was more than competitive enough to win. There is a thread in the archive about it I think, just have a squiz there 👍

I've got a fun game...let's play "What the hell is that letter the stupid census people put on your form?"

censusyi6.jpg

Take your best shot...

I thought the same thing...however both of those attempts resulted in 👎 ... anyone else wanna have a crack ????

Nope...apparently after trying various letters from the alphabet and throwing in the less than symbol ( < ) it is actually a "V"...hmmm....

On the way to work today (Obviously I was in a hurry...)

The only thing Colby will ever get named after him.

Now where is Brad Street......Probably in the richer part of town....(Note that Colby Road is a dirt road)

Yes it is a dirt road but I asked to have a dirt road named after me, basically to commemorate my fully sik rallying skillz!!!

Well according to my avatar there's only 4 people better than me :sly:

[EDIT] Oh yeah and I forgot....

Well according to my avatar there's only 4 people better than me :sly:

And one of them is Xena....

Anyway, it's not all inclusive! I could ever fit all the people who are superior to you, and all the people who are inferior to me (Which, coincidently, is the same number :sly:) on a 120x120 space. Even having names only 6 pixels high, at a world population of 6.6 billion, that's 39600000000 pixels high. Or 139699.96 km high. To put it another way, your avatar would have to stretch around the earth 3.4 times, or a third of the way to the moon.
