Well I just went and saw "Fast and the Furious - Tokyo Drift". I knew I should have just downloaded it  All I can say is...they're lucky I like cars because other than the sweet rides I was embarrassed to be in the cinema. At one point when the girl is drifting with the guy and reflecting on her once peaceful lifestyle, the whole audience started laughing at how terrible the movie was. If you're thinking of seeing it, poke yourself in the eye instead :)

On a different note, Brad and I were discussing how we could liven this place up and we were thinking that we could have some mini-rivalries going with rewards and punishments so I'm publicly throwing the gauntlet down here and now to you Big Bad Brad. Winner of Week 64 gets to decide what the losers avatar is for the duration of Week 65. I am gonna lay the smack down this week boyeeee!!!! :sly:

Haha, nice. I watched it at my friend's house... He got an illegal rip of it somehow, in good quality too... Wasn't too bad if you're not with people who hate it to start with. This one was better than the second, at least there wasn't any neon!!! But still, yes, definitely cheesy stuff everywhere.

I'm soooooooo hammered.

I hate being 18. You spend all your money on alcohol. I got a score of 2000 on Girls just want to have fun. 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍

I'm going to bed but my feet hurt.

Just wait until you are 32. then you'll hate being 32 and want to be 18 again. My life was much more fun at 18. Drinking age is 21 in the states, but I must say I drank more when I was under age than I do now. It was much more exciting knowing that you were doing something illegal! :sly:

I like the sound of this, if you don't mind me nicking your idea Colby I'm gonna throw another gauntlet down for Balls (Niel).

I've already picked out the avatar! :sly:

Erm.....

Unfortunatly I posted that before doing any running on this weeks challenge. Looks like I've got a bit of catching up to do. :nervous:

At least we get two weeks, there's still time. :sly:

Yeah! I'm down with this idea Darren.

Mind you, I don't think Frank will be happy not being my 'tar for a week. But then again, don't think he has anything to worry about :sly:

I was bored on the way to work yesterday. So I took some pictures of the pruddey scenery.

Nice! Looks like a great parking spot indeed! Much better than all the buildings and concrete jungle crap that I get to park next to...

Alright, where's a good place to get a decent racing seat? and what is a decent racing seat? Any suggestions?

That is freaky weird  ... I just rang our local wrecker looking for a seat of some kind...I mean literally, I just got off the phone and sat down at the PC...scary :)

Anyway I'm going to go and visit the local wrecker in about an hour and have a look at seats and prices. I was in the local electronics store today and saw they had the DFP for sale at $197AUD which is about $100 less than it used to be so I'm SERIOUSLY thinking of getting it and starting to build a cockpit. I'd like the cockpit to resemble my current car's cockpit as much as possible which I know is sad but maybe it'll be easier to adapt to if I'm in a driving position I am familiar with.

Only thing is I'd like to get the new G25 Logitech wheel when it comes out but a cheap(ish) DFP is hard to pass up. I guess I could always start on the cockpit and leave the wheel choice till later.

Anyway, in short I suggest ringing your local wrecker :sly: 👍

I feel like Homer Simpson when I think about the G25.... (hmmmm G25... )

Well it's been a while since I raced anything in the WRS, week 51, I think! :guilty:
Sadly a lack of correct cars have meant I couldn't enter many events that were run, also I've been back to England twice in the meantime and was able to attend UKGTP V where I met Famine, daan, Touring Mars, vexd, EXelero, Specialized, Roo & The Cracker! Excellent fun! 👍
I was also in the middle of my run through the PD Cup during this time, in a stock Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-R (KPGC110) '73 and I prepared an enormous race report with pictures and replays attached which is in the GT4 Race Reports forum. It took bloody ages as I was attempting to keep it OLR standard clean! Please go and take a look if you've got a moment to spare and feel free to post a comment too!
I had Laurence5905, KLR142 & LeadSlead#2 from the WRS check out the replays for me. Thanks! :)

Finally for the past week since I got back from England again I've been A-speccing the Nurburgring 24hr race in the Renault 5 Maxi Turbo Rally Car '85 which has been nicely challenging! Hourly updates are appearing at the moment in my A-spec endurance companion, which can be reached through the link in my signature! :D

Hopefully I'll be back again sometime soon if there's a tantalising combination to go at in arcade mode! ;)

Well, in less than 18 hours my Dad and I will be hooning around a race track in our cars. My Dad in his Cobra and me in my Satria:

I got a gift voucher to race at Wakefield Park a while back but haven't been able to use it until tomorrow. Here is the track I'm racing on:

Today my Dad and I mounted tripods in our cars and tested them with video cameras because tomorrow we're taping everything. Here is how I mounted it in the end:

It's pretty damn secure, but I'm more worried about my Dad's setup since he will be driving his open top Cobra...losing a Camera out the side wouldn't be much fun :) But today when we tested them it seems to work fine. The funny thing was I was following my dad while we were testing and we hit the freeway and despite me giving my car everything I could...Dad just disappeared behind a puff of smoke. Boy can that Cobra take off! If only Wakefield Park had more twisty bits.

Whatever the case, tomorrow is my first time on a track and I am excited!!! Once I convert the video footage I'll upload it from both mine and my dad's cars, probably within a week or so 👍

Just enjoy your day 200% Colby 👍 👍 👍
... looking forward to seeing the vids.

Have fun Colby. 👍

Can't wait to see that footage. It'll make a change from watching your replays. :)

With the camera mounted that close to you in the car it might be a good idea not to scare yourself too much, remember the AUP. :sly:

Just wanted to come in and say hello as well as "D'oh" !!!!

Been a while, that's for sure. :ouch:
I've just been really, really busy with work and getting school in order. :(
Last time I came around we were racing the Ring and I never came back to submit my time (not that it was a winner).
None the less, my time on the Ring in the C5-R was a 5'51.072. :D
Not bad for someone who's quickly getting worse and worse at this game. :dopey:

On that note, my game time lately has been going to Armored Core Last Raven. 👍 Fun game if you're into the AC series, if not then it is nothing different.

Also, I finished Half Life 2 and that was just plain amazing, I highly suggest HL2 for anyone looking to play the best FPS ever made. 👍

Finally I just want to mention that I hope to get more GT time in as the school year starts up. Hopefully I will be able to come back and run on pace with D2 or there-abouts. ;)

Until then,
Good luck to all of you in your races.

@Colby

Remember we still have to see the footage of you putting it into the wall!

Well if that happens, I'll probably have to sell the footage for around the $15,000 mark to recover losses

Well from now on, "fun" has officially been redefined as:

"The act of racing your own car at a race track until your tyres are fried."

Case in point:

I had an absolute blast today!!! It really was just like a massive go-kart track for big boys in their big cars. After only 2-3 laps I was throwing my car around like I was playing GT; lift-off oversteer, controlling understeer, tyres squirming underneath me. It was cool because the car reacted very very similarly to what an FF reacts like in GT and so I was probably a bit more reckless than I would have been had I not been a hardcore GT'er. Sooooooo much fun 👍

When I got home I immediately went into school and converted all our footage. I sifted through all our laps and I dug out my dad's and my best laps:

My Dad: 1`22.220
Me: 1`22.140

So I guess it just goes to show that 1.8 litres of manic-revving Malaysian fun is superior to 5 litres of American muscle (or maybe my dad was just driving like a girl ;) )

Whatever the case, we both had an awesome time, we both came away relatively unscathed (although my tyres may protest that point) and we'll both be back. I reckon with some practice I can go sub 1`20.

Here is a replay of my fastest lap. It's not as exciting as a GT lap to watch but you'll see and hear plenty of effort on my part. And just for Casio...I included my very near spin out at the end of the straight after the lap is complete ;)

48mb Lap in ".avi" format

Best $150 you could spend 👍
