I actually have an Atlanta Trashers jumper I picked up for like $5 somewhere! So yeah, they're my team! Not that I've ever watched a game of Hockey, are they any good? (The Trashers, not the Hockey)

Thrashers, not Trashers... :)

They're a relatively new team, so they've not quite gotten themselves established yet... But they're getting better and better each year (well, mostly) -- just takes awhile to build a major-leage team from scratch.
 
Unfortunately coverage over here is almost non-existent, one channel shows about one game a week at around two in the morning. I used to follow the Red Wings, only because they won the first game I ever watched, I knew nothing about the game till then. In my opinion ice hockey has to be the best team sport to watch, it's the only one where fighting is still allowed, I know it's frowned upon and the players get penalised for five minutes but it's still great to watch.

We have an ice hockey league over here, (I think it's where a lot of "retired" NHL players end up,) but it's just not played with as much intesity as the NHL, I suppose it's more like your minor league stuff. With fewer teams there aren't as many matches either.

BTW, I got the impression that the Thrashers were doing quite well for a new franchise, they've only been in the NHL for a few years if I recall correctly.
 
the great thing about hockey is that its a smaller, rougher version of soccer (football, futball, footie, ... whatever)
most other sports like american football, baseball etc... are just too boring as a spectator sport. especially NFL football... god, i have no idea how people can put up with watching 5 seconds of action followed by 5 min of standing around with a paused clock. the set-play > set-play > set-play nature of NFL football is just so dreary. The only time the players get to be creative or do anything for themselves is on the kickoff... mind as well just have robots being controlled by the coaches.

You probably won't get the chance to see it. But AFL is the greatest sport in the world. More then 3/4 goals a game are scored, you can't get taken off for fighting, and you have speckys! (A specky is where you soar above a pack to take a mark, a fantastic one is at about 2:50 in the video below)

Just thought I'd mention here that I'm pretty damn annoyed with the selected races for BC6... Don't know where else to say it, my team already knows my opinion, I just wanted more people to hear it... :)

Hmm, one of those races looks VERY familiar, doesn't it? But the thing that really gets me, is IT'S ALL ARCADE MODE BS! Except for a rally race? Come on. The worldwide GT community greatly dissappoints me.

IMO. the rounds should of had tighter constraints.

if the rounds had some where IT had to be GT mode, and it had to me multilap, we wouldnt find ourselves in this positions.

The fact is
Arcade hotlaps are easier.

I tried to get 2 rounds to be compulsary multilaps with no hotlaps allowed, but no luck.

ditto. for a hardcore GT tournament, i expected 9 GTmode and 1 arcade

if it was GT, GT2 or GT3, we wouldn´t even had this argument. tuning all the way.i also expected and wated more gtmode races

Unfortunately we don't get any Aussie rules footy over here so no chance of following it. :( Have seen a few clips and highlights reels before and I have to agree with you that some of the best sports fights outside the boxing ring are probably in the AFL. I've seen a one clip in particular where every single player gets involved in the brawl?
 
Yeah, I was pretty happy when I saw a couple of my suggetions make it through the first round, and then gravely dissappointed when the NSX-R at GV-E was chosen over my GT Mode El Cap NSX race. The fact that it was a race didn't cause any problems with the AI, and it was just an AWESOME balanced ride.

The 787 made it through though, sadly, I don't think I'm fast enough, even though I'm decent. The other race I suggested was the A3 3.2 around Paris. I've had LOTS and LOTS of fun getting that car to go around that track decently...

Next year, I definitely think we'll be suggesting something along the lines of required GT Mode races...
 
Is there a BC6 thread somewhere on here where I can say CONGRATS! ? :) Well done Dion! And since we finished a snippet ahead of you, I need to try really really hard so I can do well also...
 
Thought someone might be interested in the event of my day.

As most of you know I got my license yesterday, I didn't have time to drive anywhere yesterday so my friend calls me today and says "Hey to do you want to go to Krispy Kreme?"

The first Krispy Kreme store in the start opened today at 6am. There was an all night party last night counting down when it opened. Anyway, after almost getting lost getting there, half an hour later we arrived to this...



The biggest queue he had ever seen. It went all the way around the shopping centre, we heard on the radio later that the drive-tru queue was 2.5km long. We said **** it, and had Hungry Jacks instead. For no other reason then having something because we drove so far.

As we entered the freeway it started to beat down with rain. So I put my wipers on. A couple of seconds later, there was this repeating *slap* sound has my driver side wiper rubber had split and was about to snap the blade.

So here I was, my first real drive. And I was driving 100km/h down the Monash Freeway in the belting rain with no wipers. I couldn't pull off to the emergency lane, because they were doing road works. I managed to pull off at the next exit. And parked in a side street.

Then we walked 15 minutes in the rain to a hardware store where we brought some pilers, then 15 minutes back. Fixed it all up, and was on our way. 👍

Well actually, the faster I went the more the rain was blown up and across the windscreen. When I started to go back to about 60/70 the rain just gathered there more. So back up to 100 it was :lol:. My friend in the back was saying "Brad. Maybe we should stop now", I just feel funny about stopping on a freeway.

I think I'll remove the wipers, too much weight and drag. I obviously don't need them anymore! :lol:

Sorry. Didn't see this. Brawls happen pretty often. Essendon and Hawthon had a huge one a couple of years back. But I couldn't find the video. But here are some nice hits for ya. The best part is most of them are legal.

Thanks for the heads up!!! I just got my first bike 3.5 weeks ago, and it's been FUN!!!! Still don't have a clue what I'm doing when it comes to certain things, but getting caught in pouring rain on the way to work when it was 50 degrees out SUCKED!!! 30 minute ride, in JEANS. Jacket didn't keep me dry, it and my shirt were still wet 8 hours later when I left work. Shoes were soaked and did the slosh slosh slosh thing for the first hour of work. Yikes! :)

Oh yes, being 18 sucks a whole bunch...

Especially when you live over here and realize you have to wait three more years before you can legally drink!!!! :sly:

But what's really pissing me off is that I havn't gotten to show off my ID yet! I've been to the grogshop 3 times and havn't been asked for ID once. I don't look over 30!

You can drive at seventeen (although you can get a 50cc bike/scooter at sixteen,) and drink at eighteen over here. (UK)

I guess thats so you don't get them both at the same time?
