Unless there are new people to the series signing up we could do only one division maybe. I don't know how many people showed up in last races, but if there are few maybe one division is the way to go.
Too much work for the stewards and the organizer to do.

adoes anyone find the day hard to make? A friday night is ussually pub night lol

Yep. A thursday would be better for me, but as we have drivers from different locations it would be hard to try and find a better time frame.

There are some interesting ideas in the OP, especially the ''final four'' races.

In my experience i just think that there are two things that could throw off most people and i understand why.

First one is the heavy damage. Almost every race will have incidents and most of them will result to a unscheduled pit stop. This can easily demotivate some people if they repeatedly are on the receiving end of it. Light damage is the wiser choice here, as it manages to reduce the aggresiveness without spoiling the fun.

Second is the exclusion of all the GT classic tracks. Many of those can produce great close racing and it's a real shame they are left out.

Just my two cents..

i think you are in someways rigth that ligth damage maybe is better for atracting most people but i think the realisem of heavy damage is much more fun and challenging that you make one mistake and you are out of the race like irl. about the circuits i just think it is to make it as close to real world:)

I also fairly like the choice of the RM'd NSX for the 1 v 1 car.

How about this:

Quali:
Quali can be done at any time between Sunday to Thursday. Deadline for quali will be Friday 02.00 AM (CET), Friday 01.00 AM (BST), Friday 00.00 AM (GMT), Thursday 20.00 PM (EST), Thursday 17.00 PM (PST).

We will post a list in the OP where we list all capable hosts (a capable host can be a steward or a driver who has been committed to the WSGTC 1). In other words, finding a capable host from Sunday to deadline will not be that hard, and all of us will be able to do the quali pretty much at any time.

Reason I set the deadline to Friday 02.00 AM (CET) is that we need time to sort out hosts for the mixed class races where we (probably) will run 2 separate rooms. And by allow quali already during Sunday my hope is that all of us are able to quali even if we have a busy week. 👍

Also, I'd like to only allow 1 quali lap instead of the 2 that we've used up to this point. How does that sound?

Rece time:
My suggestion is that we keep the times that we used during the first WSGTC season. Maybe move the endurances 30 minuts later. So a 175 km race would be: Connect time: 22.00 PM (CET), 21.00 PM (PST), 20.00 PM (GMT), 16.00 PM (EST), 13.00 PM (PST). Green flag: 23.00 PM (CET), 22.00 PM (BST), 21.00 PM (GMT), 17.00 PM (EST), 14.00 PM (PST)

And for the 250 km races: Connect time: 21.30 PM (CET), 20.30 PM (BST), 19.30 PM (GMT), 15.30 PM (EST), 12.30 PM (PST).
Green flag: 22.30 PM (CET), 21.30 PM (BST), 20.30 PM (GMT), 16.30 PM (EST), 13.30 PM (PST).

I really hope that these times will fit everybody. Since we have drivers from (almost) all over the world, some of us need to put in some effort to be able to make the race. I'm at the moment pushing it pretty much when the race ends around 00.30.

Penalties:
As far as I understand, we need to reduce the initial penalty for causing avoidable damage from 40 to 25 seconds. I think that's a great idea. But the penalty can be more strict if the accident was on purpose, caused by overly aggressive driving or similar. This will put additional pressure on the race stewards but I think it's worth it.

The rest of the penalty system will stay as in the OP as in the WSGTC round x threads.

Cars:
Cars will be tested to get good PP's for all of the approved cars plus some that was left out in an attempt to make the cars even more equal.

Tyres: Racing Hard
Penalty: OFF
All aids: OFF
ABS: 1
Grip reduction on wet track/tracks edge: Real
Damage: Heavy

Point system:
Mixed class point system:
D1.1: 55p
D1.2: 49p
D1.3: 43p
D1.4: 37p
D1.5: 32p
D1.6: 27p
D1.7: 22p
D2.1: 32p
D2.2: 27p
D2.3: 22p
D2.4: 18p
D2.5: 14p
D2.6: 10p
D2.7: 6p

Same class point system:
01. 55p
02. 49p
03. 43p
04. 37p
05. 32p
06. 27p
07. 22p
08. 19p
09. 16p
10. 13p
11. 10p
12. 8p
13. 6p
14. 4p

Points will wary slightly depending on if the race was a "same" or "mixed" one. I could not find a better system. And I think it's ok with the one I suggested abowe. Feel free to post a better system if you can think of one.

Bonus Points:
Pole Position: 3p
Fastest Lap: 2p
Finishing race: All drivers will recieve points if atleast 10% of the race is completed before a DC.
% completion points:
0-9: 0p
10-19: 1p
20-29: 2p
30-39: 3p
40-49: 4p
50-59: 5p
60-69: 6p
70-79: 7p
80-89: 8p
90-99: 9p
100: 10p

When we calculate the % completion we'll keep it simple. Just look at the top left screen what lap he was DC's at. Let's say: 27/35=0,77... 7p bonus. In this way, we willcalculate the formationlap and the lap that was not yet completed. But since we always will use this method it will be the same for everyone and it's also better to give more points than less points if you ask me.

Well, guess that's it for now.

We still need to figure out a way to encourage evenly spread class participation.

I think it should somehow be promoted in the name of the thread since we're pretty much also running the only GT300 class championship.

But at the moment all I can think of is to have a cutoff for GT500...

Just something to ponder I guess.

Hello WSGTC. Yes, it is me, Masi.

First of all, my apologies for the absence and just suddenly coming out of nowhere like a mushroom in this thread, out of place. My apologies for the PMs i haven't replied since then..... Much credit for everyone who has contributed on keeping the series going. Specially to Dennis, Wardez and the Stewards. Merci!

My story/excuse - not been the luckiest dude this past couple months. Adding to a few personal struggles, i was involved in a multi-car accident a month ago on the freeway. There were five of us in the vehicle with my friend driving - lost control, hit a car, rolled over twice, skidded downhill while on the roof, and done. We were going approximately 90-100mph (yes, reckless driving. My other friend dared him to go 120, which in reply he said 'Forget that, ill go 135' in which i replied, 'Don't be stupid, there's five of us here!') from a famous downhill part of the 101 freeway (Thousand Oaks) north of LA proper. Well, thankfully, we all survived with none life threatening injuries. Having sat upfront, passenger side, i received bruised ribs, a mild concussion, messed up shin bones, and some lacerations from the flying glasses. All is good now, nothing but a few scars for the ladies

Here's a not so good pic of the tough little bastard. You can't see it, but the front of the car was pretty much destroyed. Kaput. Car rolled twice then skidded downhill on its roof. It went back right side up after hitting the divider. Good thing we didn't go over the other side.

I miss GT5! Sadly, i sold my G27 and DFGT prior to the accident, and my nephew is the current 'interim' owner of my beloved PS3. lol

Anyway, that's all for now. I'm pretty busy with work and school (finals are closing) so im not sure i can frequent the forums.

Best of luck for the next season!

Hey Masi. Good to know you're alright after that crash. 👍👍

Also, I'd like to only allow 1 quali lap instead of the 2 that we've used up to this point. How does that sound?

To be honest, I would definitely prefer 2. With 1 flying lap, everyone's going to take it (fairly) easy. The results will therefore not show people's strengths in certain circuits but instead the results will just show people's differences in overall skill. You might aswell then just use the points table.

@Masi_23: Glad to hear that everything worked out fine in the end. With a bit of bad luck, the situation could easaly turn into a nightmare. We've really missed you around here.
It must be a stressful period for you at the moment with personal issues, a carcrash, finals and also without your G27 and PS3... The later not that important perhaps.. :)

I hope to see you around here in the future. Maybee already for the WSGTC 2. Don't know when it's going to launch since PSN is down and WSGTC 1 still got 2 more races on the schedule.

I wish you the best of luck with your finals, and that everything will work out just fine for you. 👍

@Wardez: What do you meen with "cutoff".. Should we close sign-ups or do you want to have a quali to determine which 14 drivers that are going to be let into the series?
If you want a quali, my suggestion is that the commited drivers from WSGTC 1 will have a reservated spot in the championship without the need to quali, and all new drivers need to quali their way in to WSGTC 2.

@GTP_Aderrrm: Yes, your probably right. Maybee we should stick to the format we use at the moment. Are you going to sign up for the WSGTC 2 btw?
