Thanks to sw_10 for the tune, managed a 1.25.210 with it which is not bad for an old geezer like me.
Just noticed he was using downforce perhaps i would be quicker with some, presently got it on minimum.

 :):):)

I was wondering how you were so quick in the first sector very impressive control for hardly any downforce

Good time mate! 👍

Give it a try with the full DF. I can really give it some through the corners .

You have my blue line and my tune so.... no reason why you can't catch me.
Full DF and mash that throttle!

shift slightly in the red also...seems to work for me ;).

If I make any changes with my tune I will update it. I'm always tweaking.

Good luck.

That's easier said than done though.

I can hang right with you through the first two sectors, but you're murdering me through the last two corners.

Downforce only slows you down in the first sector since there are no high speed turns. The first sector is all about brake balance, precise alignment at full throttle entering the hairpin, and back on full throttle before you see the second apex. This much is pretty easy.

I usually lose time in the second sector, but not always. I almost always lose a lot of time in the third sector. I lose so much time that some of my fastest first sectors end up on laps too slow to save.

Eh... So I should be on the gas pedal before the first apex? I'm currently just coasting in there after braking...

Haha! Now you know how I felt at La Sarthe with that Toyota! You were murdering me in the last few corners .
The last few corners were in the dark though!

You would catch me on this one if you did more than a quick half hour!

Seriously though, this combo must just suit my style or something :dopey:.

No, I wasn't clear.

I take the slight right at full throttle, straighten up, downshift and trail brake while rotating left, and back on full throttle somewhere between the first and second apex if I'm aligned correctly. I'm still turning when I mash the gas and I feel like it should break loose, but it doesn't. It takes a little faith--especially since the second apex is still blind. But it works.

Now if only I could nail the second two sectors....

I'm at 1'24.8xx, but I'm losing a full second after the first.

Ok no problem, just wanted to know!!

Thanks for tips mate!!

And yeah, there's places where you have some camber on the road coming out of those turns (I don't actually know is there camber trough out the whole track, I mean streets tend to have at least some camber so the water goes somewhere) and if you can hit a good line your exit speed are greatly increased! Especially coming out of that penultimate corner (that loop or what ever it is) there's a way to get on the throttle much earlier if you are on the absolute right line... And yeah, it's same thing whit all these corners... Good line has some camber helping, but if you slip to the other side of the road it's like .5 lost there straight away...

Now 1:23.180. Lost a good .150 in the middle sector though.

Don't be so sure about that! I've spend a good couple of hours on it already. :dopey:

Losing a lot to you (.150) through the double apex left hander at the beginning of sector 2, sector 1 you're .050 faster versus my current lap. You're also gaining .150 in the roundabout corner in the last sector (mainly on entry, I actually get slightly more exit speed), but I pull .050 back in the last chicane. Through the left and right in the middle of sector 2 we're pretty even.

Keep at it! You should catch me 👍.

I have been 2 tenths up going into the last sector.........stacked it in the last chicane!

Managed a 1:26:582 and that's me done.
Too old to learn manual shifting which is where I am probably losing time but satisfied with this and self tuning.

1:26.xxx on my first serious attempt. Had some tuning to do before I felt satisfied with the handling. Gotta see what I can do about that gearing though. Currently min DF too. Maybe just a tiny bit, for the twisties?

Don't blame it on someone else geezer - be smooth and you'll not drive out to the extremes of the track

I'm not blaming him, I'm just saying his line shows he hit the curbs a lot, and somehow, he kept a good lap time. FRZgt is one of the fastest drivers in my PSN friends list.

The only kerb you really need to avoid is the left hand one in the final chicane.

The rest are fine if you're on the right line, or there's no advantage in using them!

Well I grabbed another 15 mins earlier and for some reason was on a march.

I did a 1:23.600 with a horrendous 0:23.0XX first sector! So it looks like my theoretical best at the moment is a 1:23.3.

Managed to put in a 1:23.5 after that. I'm getting a nose bleed at #39 on the leaderboard

Hi,
I used the setup of SW__10 and with some changes I improved my time, I did 1:22,877 but I lost about 0,130 in the first sector!
The changes are:
40/40
16.39/20.94
4/4
5/5
3/3
0/0,5
0/0,05

and

FG: 2650
Max speed 124mph (min)
1: 3.747
2: 2,726
3: 2.153
4: 1.770
5: 1.477
FG: 2000

All the rest are the same!

Thank you again SW__10 :) 👍

Good luck

That last chicane is what was giving me all my problems.

Just brake at the 50M board, chuck her in, hit the first curb and land with your wheels turned slightly left.

If you get it right, you can start accelerating as you pass the second curb. No need to touch that one. You can generally accelerate earlier than you might think

I love this car so, so much. If all 4-pot cars could use this sample for race exhaust, I'd be a very happy man. It's epic.

123.424 using Praiano's tune. Still 3/10 to find & maybe more if I can nail that final chicane :banghead:

Using the G27 @ 450 degrees helps a fair bit for me.

Well done! It really seems that you're all the time just on my tale, just yeaterday I improved from 1:23.5 by few tenths and you will probably follow today (hopefully tough I also improve, let's just see how much playing time that new track is gonna consume) and this was also the case at silverstone in FGT!!! Also we seem to favor same tunes (no wonder tough, @SW__10 tunes are really good) so keep it up, it's nice to have sort of same caliber players around!

Cheers mate 👍

It's funny to see the same people around you all the time on the last couple of seasonal leaderboards. Shows it's all about ability and not just a lucky lap..

Hopefully in a few moths we'll be battling in the top 10.

What country are you from?

I'm from finland, yuo? And I don't know about couple of months but eventually there has to be a top 10 place available. I try to spend around two hours a day doing TT's and keeping it up for over 6 months now I can see my self gettin better and better, getting better is happening quite gradually tough, it's more like gettin easier and easier bit by bit.

Really looking forward for next GTA, this year I managed top 500 (if I remeber correctly) so next year will be a true indicator if my level has gotten better. There's a lot of guys improving at the same time tough, so time will tell...

:gtpflag:

And yeah, you can always get lucky on one corner but making a lucky lap is just not possible. Altough it really seems that more I train the luckier I get :D
