X1 Prototype- WOW!

Time to dissect that video!

When Vettel is at the track selection screen, there's 2 selections of the 2005 Circuit de la Sarthe, but there's also a selection just before it. I believe we will have more than 2 layouts (not counting reverse) for Circuit de la Sarthe!

Immediately after that, we see multiple layouts for the GP course at Nurburgring.

Watching the last lap at the end of the video, it just seems like it's cheating, haha. So fast!!

Also note that the menus are the same as the CR-Z build. You have different tabs for the courses (City, Original ect). In the car select menu you have 3 selections, Arcade Only, Favorites and Portable Garage. It very much seems like this is the final build or near final build.

In the replay at the end, I don' understand why the car makes a conventional 4-stroke engine sound exactly like a F1, also why the revs go up and down and there's shifting? Isn't a turbine coupled with a CVT?

The new specs comfirm it isn't a CVT coupled Turbine, V6 3000cc twin turbo 1483hp and going by the video can rev over 14,000rpm.

Yeah I edited it after reading further on the website. Tho I'm wondering how a V6 twin-turbo can be more powerful than a Veyron W12 quad-turbo by roughly 50%? even with top-notch F1 racing tech. Also, why do they kept the turbine nosel design at the back if there is no turbine, unless it's the fan exhaust?

F1 had ~1500hp 4 cylinders in the turbo days, 1483hp 3000cc V6 isn't a problem, just dont expect it to have a good warranty.

The design at the back is nothing to do with the turbine, but the fan which creates a vacuum underneath the car.

If the turbo is boosting at huge amounts, it's quite easy. The F1 cars of the early-mid 80's were running at huge boost pressures, and there were 1.5L 4 cylinder engines that were producing over 1400bhp by welding the wastegates shut.

Is that for real? Or is it in-game graphics?

Update: never mind it's in-game graphics.

200mph in 6.1 seconds sums up how mental this car is. :scared:

With the right tuning, I bet it can do 400mph and beyond.

My anticipation of GT5 is growing, but it says :

...goes on sale before the end of the year.

I am taking it that this car is the fastest in the game being totally stock over all the other cars, right...?
What if you do a full conversion on say the Bugatti. Could it clock over 280mph as well...?

Really? The fastest race car in the world? I doubt it but seems so cool though. :)

It would be the fastest car on a circuit for sure....they don't mean fastest car and only talk about its top speed ofcourse!!...

If this thing would be made IRL it would be impossible for a human to drive it around a track for more than 10 minutes or so,the g-forces would make you faint ...that is without a jet fighters pressure suit on though... :scared::drool::crazy:....

Good to see it does have a "normal" engine 👍👍👍

Just watched the video of it, the sound it makes sounds very similar to F2007 in prologue.

The idea is to make a the fastest racing car. This does occasionally involve going around corners. A Bugatti may have a higher top speed, but apart from the Test Course Oval, there is nowhere you are going to use that speed. With the X1, you can accelerate to that speed in a small amount of room.

As far as I know, the 2005 layout had a different first set of corners, (steady right, right, left, right, then Dunlop bridge), as well as a different pit exit, and 'purple tarmac'.

The 2009 layout had smaller kurbs, a redesigned pit exit, and blue-ish tarmac. The first set of corners, before Dunlop Bridge are:

Flat-out right, left, right, then Dunlop Bridge.

:)

Maybe there will be multiple versions. From what we know there are at least three paintjobs, there's a chance they will have different specifications.

Agreed yes, but many youngsters playing this game only think of things like top speed...:)
I suppose this car "X1" is at max power, and u could not further tune it (power wise) in GT5.

They can still mate a 4 stroke engine to a CVT. I wouldn't count it out yet as it is faster than a traditional gearbox and this is supposed to be the ultimate car with no FIA rules so...

By the way, whats the 'Arcade only' tab? Cars only used for Arcade mode???

I think that it's just a tab for the cars that you've unlocked for the arcade mode. There's no other tab for that so it makes sense.

In the garage pic with Virtual Vettel, the floor is unrealistic. Aren't garage floors meticulously kept clean and almost always a white color, to make sure every tiny part is accounted for after doing work on the car?

I know aircraft hangars where work is being done are that way, and I assumed most high-end racing garages did the same.

That mirrored surface would like hide anything that would happen to fall or get misplaced.
