I just watched the trailer and I could of sworn I was watching a new Need For Speed Pro Street.

That announcer was horrible as well as the Transformers-ish slow downs.đź‘Ž

Why not just show the cars in all the glory? Everybody who cares knows what Forza is about, but for some reason or another, they brought in Michael Bay.

Then you clearly have never watched motorsports on TV. That announcer is none other than John Hindhaugh from Radio LeMans, who also does a ton of announcing in WEC/ALMS/Daytona and other racing events.

And yet, he's been an announcer for the past 20 years in motorsport.

Pretty obvious why he was chosen now....

There could be a still image of a car parked to the side without a driver and people on here would still call it an arcade game. How wrong they are though..

Watching the FM5 trailer and reading it's not CG and all in game engine running on dev hardware has me me drooling by the mouth. I now need to know MORE and I have to wait until E3..

"in game engine" is buzzword/code speak. Photomode in GT and Autovista in F4 are both running on "in game engine". Doesn't mean the game will look that way.

Not buying into the hype until I see actual game play. I jumped the gun once because they pulled at my heartstrings by using McLarens, but that won't happen again.

Are we really suggesting that T10 are going to move from being the best console racing game to all show and no go? Come on guys, Dan is enough of a petrol head to not let that happen, what use would the Pirelli partnership be if the physics where any less as good as they are now in FM4? Do we think that McLaren who are renowned for having the most advanced F1 simulator in the world put their name directly onto this game if it had less than accurate simulations?

I've been playing Forza long enough to not pay any attention to their teaser videos as we have already been shown in this thread

Looking good. Doubt it will deter me from GT6 but If the pricing is right for the next gen I may dip 2 toes.

Its amazing how Turn 10 can have a Forza ready for next gen while GT6 is a PS3 game. Forza are at 5 now and will soon pass the GT series in terms of how many games that have made.

Im leaning so heavily towards purchasing my first Xbox / Forza

This game looks amazing.

Yes, the same was said about a game called Deep Down iirc, GT5 trailer footage was said to be "running" on the ps3, FF demo was running on the ps4 etc.

A lot of devs do this especially at the beginning of a console reveal. My point is the best idea we will get on how gameplay will look like is from gameplay :)

Do we think that McLaren who are renowned for having the most advanced F1 simulator in the world put their name directly onto this game if it had less than accurate simulations?

I agree with what you said before theres no way Forza 5 is not going to be a sim but this is not a good way to support that. McLaren is in NFS too.

Exactly, game companies are getting more and more annoying with some of the smoke and mirror stuff they pull especially racing games.

McLaren maybe be in NFS GT5 etc etc, but McLaren are in partnership with T10 for FM5 not just selling them the license

Does that mean we can expect them to finally fix the stock gear patterns on Pontiacs and others that are way off? Pretty much all Pontiacs in the games have a messed up gear box where there is a big gap between 3rd and 4th and really hurts them in game requiring you to spend a bunch of PI to get an adjustable race tranny for proper gearing. Having owned a few of the Pontiacs in real life I can say for sure that they are not like that in real life and the game should reflect the real car rather than T10s best guess at what the car would be.

Aren't AV, photo modes and replays part of the game? I'm not implying that they will be actual game play. But last I checked a ton of pics and replays are saved that adds extra polish and fluff. At first I thought it was just some CGI trailer but knowing it's all in game running on a dev kit tells me it won't be too far off from that, just as all the previous Forza games were all in game and weren't too far off from game play.

Most racing games end up with their best guess of what some cars are like. They can't drive everything so a little bit of educated guessing goes into it. GT5 had all sorts of errors with this, as did FM4 along with many others.

It is just really annoying, If they do not know the proper gearing then they should at least space the gearing in a logical pattern. It is almost like they intentionally messed it up to make the car less competitive. Oddly enough when you do swap to the race tranny that big gap that never should have been there goes away and the gearing is fine but you just used up a huge chunk of PI in the process.

Don't get me wrong I like Forza and play it a lot but it has a long ways to go before I could consider it as an accurate sim.

btw on GT5 this would not be an issue if it were present as you can change the tranny and adjust the gears without having to spend a ton of PP to do so.

I was going to reply to this, but every time in the past two or three threads that I have, you never go back to reply on the subject. You just disappear from the threads forever. lol.

I come and go. sometimes I do not see where others have replied so ....

I don't know where you may have been talking about. I did see one where you responded to me and I responded then apparently you responded again but I did not see the response. There for a while I was not checking the forum very often as there really was not much new going on.

John Hindhaugh is not a terrible announcer. Hes one of the best

To some he might be, to me he is not. Plus, what either of us think has little to do with whether or not I felt that trailer was Pro Street II.

You're right. This works much better:

Oh, Slip, that has nothing to do with that trailer.

Yeah, those things are so out of place... why do they even try is so far beyond me. 800 standards yet this abomination makes it in. should've just played the audio recording and get racing

Funny how two of you instantly revert to type with your slam on the Gran Turismo series due my opinion over a trailer that I happened to feel sucked.

Then you clearly have never watched motorsports on TV. That announcer is none other than John Hindhaugh from Radio LeMans, who also does a ton of announcing in WEC/ALMS/Daytona and other racing events.

Whether or not I watch or listen to radio motorsports isn't a concern. It was over dramatic with announcing that reminded me of a Pod Race from Star Wars. Does John Hindhaugh have two heads?

Fair enough, his credentials in the industry are outstanding, the trailer was not. But hey, you can like it, it's all good.

It would not matter to me if it was the greatest announcer that ever lived I still would not want it in the game. It would be very very annoying even if done exceptionally well and if done poorly then ..... I am surprised I can't remember the name they kept calling me in Pro Street. One would think that would be burned in my mind forever as much as I heard it while playing that game.

Hopefully that was just part of the trailer and will not be in the game at all.

Even If it was in the game it would not bother me as long as we had the ability to turn it off which will probably be the case. FM is pretty good with options and such, but what has me bothered is the wheel issue and the trailer they used to introduce FM5.

I don't see where people are getting this arcade impression from, it's just a trailer. Although it does seem to be aimed at people who don't know about cars or racing games. I hate the way they have to add "the highest rated racing franchise of the last 10 years" can't they just show the trailer and let it speak for it's self, without making these ridiculous claims like a dodgy used car sales man. I was expecting to see something more but, all I could tell was the graphics looked nice.

It's called marketing, every company does it and every company molds the data to fit them in whatever way is the best.

High Res Shots

Here
Thank you !! I been looking for these.I have a new background :sly:

I dont think the game looks aracadey because we havent actually seen the game.I thought the cinematics of the trailer looked arcadey, it looked like a NFS trailer. So I can see why someone who hasnt seen the previous Forza trailers would think that the trailer shows what Forza is a bout.To be honest I dont really have a problem with the trailer. I also didnt have a problem with the announcer, I actually want PD to implement a actual human presence in the game. They sorta did in gt5 with Jeff gordon and sebastian but an announcer in the replays would be nice.

First of all ^^^^ is awesome.

Second:

8 ≠ 5 regardless of the bizarro math you may be trying to use.

8 = 8

Yea what he said was rubbish lol .But theres a diffrence between 8 gddr5 and ddr3.The G mean graphics, so the card itself is just more optimized for graphics than the ddr3.But AFAIK they are very similar but the the gddr5 is better overall whereas the ddr3 would only be better for the cpu.

The way they show it does look a bit arcadey but seems like Forza 3 did something similar just with more than 2 cars, slow motion, drifting corners, different angles and such it really did not give much clue as to what game play was going to be like. We really did not have much idea what it would be like until we got the demo.

I was expecting to see something more but, all I could tell was the graphics looked nice.
I was hoping to see a bit more at least a tiny glimpse of actual game play but not surprised. The graphics do look good but then they looked good in 3 and 4 as well and if anything they look to good. The car is overly shiny and looks a bit unrealistic because of that.

Not really, I just hate that style Forza usually uses. So leave us hipsters alone dude

So you only hate it when Forza does it but not anyone else? That doesn't exactly help your case on the point you're trying to make.

Completely agree. I know I shouldn't make this assumption, but I feel that it's an indicator that the One is not as much of a powerhouse as the PS4 will be. Then again, neither was the 360 against the PS3 and ultimately it didn't matter much.

So, this is going to be yet another Forza 2, with better graphics and new cars?

Why don't they try to add rain?! I'm shocked.

Forza has a 'history' of arcadey trailers and then a not arcadey product. F3's E3 trailer says it all really. This trailer may have looked arcadey and stuff but lets face it, the game won't be.

I didn't see rain in that GT6 trailer, obviously it doesn't have it....
