If there are no Fanatec wheels compatible with Forza 5 at launch, Xbox One is a no-go.

I can live with having to buy another wheel (my GT2 served me well). But no way I have to buy a complete set (wheel + pedals + shifter) for Forza 5.

And it's not a matter of money.

Edit : Granted, there WILL be Xbox One compatible wheels at launch and Forza 5 will still be a "sim" and won't become PGR5 (this coming from a big PGR fan).

This trailer is extremely worrying.

Oh and by the way, the P1 does spit flames like shown in the trailer, this image is lifted from GF Williams (the photographer) Facebook

Just incase anyone thought it was very 'NFS'

I have enjoyed the Forza Motorsport games even if I am more a GT gamer but I have had difficulties with Forza 4 since the beginning. When playing it, I always feel there is something strange with the fov (field of view). it was not the case with FM2 and FM3.

I hope Forza 5 will change this.

This will be the only post here.

How do you know GT6 WON'T be what GT5 was suppose to be? Honestly. If it's because you thought that due to ONE trailer, than be quiet.

Now I'm bringing this back on topic and will be heading back out of this fourm. Nuff said.

God damn, for such a hyped up fanboy, every single piece of information Polyphony Digital has released about GT6 so far, has passed right over your head. Have you seriously not read any of the released info about the game so far?

Or let me take another guess at this; You are selectively picking and choosing what you want to hear because the thought of a better game, for whatever reason, keeps you from sleeping at night.

There is a bit of an issue with the FOV. Its like you are to low and makes it hard to see the track ahead especially when the track is very flat or has a slight downhill up ahead. The first corner on Indy GP is a decent example as are the top gear tracks.

Another issue, better in 4 than 3 but still an issue is the stationary sun. I just can't for the life of me figure out why they decided to place the sun in a fixed position that would either be in your eyes or create glare on the track. If the sun is going to be in a fixed position then make it high overhead and if you want the sun to be a bit of a factor have an option to set the time of day morning, noon, evening

On Forza 3 Sedona was brutal due to this.

I maybe hyped, but I'm waiting for more information regarding GT6 at E3, same goes for this one. Unlike you who just blindly calls it GT5.5, who doesn't know anything about it except for some information that was shown at the presentation, and of course will prove its going to correct GT5's errors. :dunce: How about stop acting like a damn fanboy to this one just because its on a next gen console while the other is on the current on?

Or let me take another guess at this; You are selectively picking and choosing what you want to hear because the thought of a better game, for whatever reason, keeps you from sleeping at night.

Excatly how does small information keep me from sleeping at night? Really? But hey. At least I ain't nitpicking a game just one has standard cars and IS going to correct GT5's errors. 👍

At least I ain't nitpicking a game just one has standard cars and MIGHT correct GT5's errors. 👍

FTFY.

Just as you point out that people know very little about a game, the same goes for you. If someone can't glean enough info from one presentation to determine if the a game will be bad, how can there be enough info to determine if it's going to be good?

The quicker you admit to carrying some pretty heavy-handed double standards, the quicker you'll see people not taking issue with nearly every post of your's. There's nothing wrong with preferences - we all have our favourites - but don't pretend they're anything other than that.

I think both of you guy's are right in your own way. MrMelancholy15 I understand what you're saying and to be honest the trailer had me underwhelmed, but at the same time it's only a teaser video. Trust me the FM team knew exactly what they were doing when they released that trailer. When E3 gets here we will get a better impression of the game. 👍 I really want to get this new Xbox and FM5, but I have a CSR so I hope it works day one with it. If it does not I will wait to see if it gets patched then buy. In the end it's going to be great gaming in the future with FM5 and GT6 coming out. 👍

Edit: Yes FM2 was my favorite FM game also, even though FM1 had night racing and great tracks. Matter fact Come on T10 bring them back!

FM1 had night racing? I only remember one track with that, shipping yard?

Also, I really can't help but think that most people are underwhelmed, but I'll wait 'til E3 before I really make an opinion.

I think this might turn into Grid 2; I was sort of unexcited by it at first, but, then I heard that the game would have a new physics engine and got a bit excited, but it let me down again.

The only difference will be the reason; I'm not liking this Xbox One nonsense. No matter how awesome your dedicated servers are, they're not awesome enough to compete with the games I'm currently enjoying, which are mainly on the PC, and (some) feature rain, and others feature iRacing physics.

You say this...

You can't play both sides of the field. You're either going to have this preconceived notion based on absolutely nothing, or you're not.

I enjoy the knowledge you've displayed.

Tell me, how powerful is the Xbox One and how in-depth are the physics in FM5 compared to iRacing? I'm interested.

Well they can but is small info and thinking it'll be good or bad? You can think its bad, but we just don't know, but I understand what you're saying Slip.

How excatly am I pretending of what?

What are you talking about? Seriously, stop with the passive aggressive and flame bait posts.

What are you talking about!? Oh brother.... All I said is I'm holding out till E3 is there a problem with that? :irked:

You just made the claim that GT6 "IS" fixing GT5's problems. You aren't waiting on E3, you're making your assumptions now. You keep saying one thing and then doing another, such as saying you're not posting here anymore and posting 5 more times.

Oh, Slip, that has nothing to do with that trailer.

Sure it does, since that terrible commentator was already in a game, and it was very annoying. There's no confirmation the trailer for FM5 is any indication we'll have a commentator in the game.

And for the sake of equality; while not quite the same, I do absolutely hate Alice in Horizon for her refusal to shut up - though that could probably come down to lazy programming more than her lines, since she shouldn't be reminding me to hunt down signs when I've broken them all.

Though, I'm really not sure how having one for replays, if it were to happen, is somehow less sim-like, since it's a common thing in real racing :).

Funny how two of you instantly revert to type with your slam on the Gran Turismo series due my opinion over a trailer that I happened to feel sucked.

Type would be popping into a thread for a series you have little experience with but actively dislike, to unsurprisingly voice said dislike some more, correct?

Whether or not I watch or listen to radio motorsports isn't a concern. It was over dramatic with announcing that reminded me of a Pod Race from Star Wars. Does John Hindhaugh have two heads?

Whether or not you watch or listen to radio motorsports is exactly the concern. That is what Hindhaugh does.

Seriously? I make a post agreeing with someone, telling me to hold off on entirely thrashing a game whose trailer leaves me unimpressed, and you tell me to "pick a side" when I start to think about the fact that even IGN doesn't like the new console?

So, excuse me while I go pay for all of my used games, buy a new gaming headset, a new steering wheel, a new console, and a new game... Suddenly we're talking about more-than-iRacing money. I don't care how much stuff goes into Forza 5 if it costs more than iRacing.

Ooh I see now. But you and others kept replying back to me, like you just did just now so I gotta reply back. :sly:

Okay, I'll say I don't nothing what GT6 is going to be, but instead I'll wait till E3. I won't say nothing and this will indeed be the last reply here. Happy now?

^^^ I can live with that.

Back on topic, I'm curious to see how the trigger vibration will feel for Forza 5. I like the idea of getting feedback when you step on the gas. I wonder if there will be something similar on the brake trigger.

I imagine there will be some pulsing if you've got ABS on. Which would be a neat feature, but I'd never notice it, since I've played FM4 from day one with it off .

You mean aside from the fact your "agreement" was instantly deemed contradictory the second you made a backhanded reference citing you think you might be let down in the same way GRiD 2 let you down?

and you tell me to "pick a side"

Where and when did I say this?

Oh, right, where I said "you can't play both sides of the field". I stand by that point because you can't.

So, it matters to you what someone else likes?

Except once you've purchased everything that you're flailing on about you won't have to pay any one of those prices again.

And, correct me if I'm wrong, but you have to buy a computer, a wheel, speakers (or a headset, perhaps both) on top of the subscription fee for iRacing.

When IGN is writing the [p]reviews of the new console, and basically also thrashing on it, it does matter to me what people like.

And, I've already got my gaming PC set up. Certainly, you realize that Xbox One is going to make my perfectly awesome G27 obsolete, won't accept the mics I already have, speakers I already have... Basically, as IGN put it... "you need to buy Kinect, you need internet connection daily, you need to have no life/friends who will try to borrow your games..."

In fact, even for PS3, I borrow my friend's games to play through when I have ample amounts of time, (i.e., February,) and nothing to do. But, Xbox One is not going to allow that. Basically, it seems to me like a money grab based on "we want a controlling share in Xbox One compatible accessories, and games."

In fact, at the very bottom, they still toss in a very iRacing-esque subscription fee. Welp, Xbox One has just ruined what game may or may not have been an acceptable Forza game that I'll wait 'til E3 to discuss.

I don't even.

The G27 is already incompatible with the current Xbox 360. I don't even.

The transition from Xbox to Xbox 360 required you to have almost an entirely new library of peripherals as well, as did the transition from the PS2 to PS3.

I don't even.

It's funny, because last I checked if you were logged into your profile Xbox One very much allows that.

I don't even.

Aside from the preconceived notion you already had? Well I'll be damned...

It's amazing to me that IGN's opinions' weight raises and lowers depending on how conveniently the statements line up with a user's personal preferences.

And, I've already got my gaming PC set up.

You're missing the point, unsurprisingly. If you want to compare iRacing and FM5 on equal terms with regards to financial outlay - as in, someone who has neither, and is looking at buying the things necessary to enjoy one or the other - iRacing still comes out on top. Sure, you already have your gaming PC set up; but then, someone who buys the XBone for any other game could then argue that they already have their system.

The G27 already didn't work on the 360. Personally, the daily internet connection thing is of little concern; I certainly understand those who take issue with it, but both my 360 and PS3 connect to the internet as soon as they can already, so it wouldn't change how I presently play games.

Perhaps it's because of the increasing focus on multiplayer and online gaming these days, but I rarely have friends borrowing games, nor do I from them. If somebody wants to play a game of mine, they usually try it out at my place. If they like it, they tend to buy their own copy, since it's likely we could be playing online together. Yes, some story-driven single player games are the exception, and I'll admit that's a pain.

The 360/G27 do work together, there's some adapter or something I read about. Too lazy to bother trying to mod my G27, especially since it's under warranty, but, at least I know that it does work.

And, as for the single player vs. multiplayer games, I'm a bit disappointed to see such an emphasis on multiplayer gaming. Sure, it's fun, but, the other teams/players complain too much. At least, in single player, the people you shoot/drive past don't complain. :sly:

Edit: so, yes, I still play single player games on occasion, b/c they're free when borrowed from a friend.

Just to let you know there is an adapter but it is complete garbage. No FFB and it emulates your wheel as a controller. So lets just say the G27 really doesn't work on an XBOX. With that said i look forward to the XboxOne, but I will be dissapointed if my fanatec doesn't work. It will still be a day 1 purchase for me regardless.

Nothing really to be grasped from the trailer thus far. Graphics looked nice and I was getting a GRID like feel too, hope it's more like Forza 4 though. 👍
