This did okay with a V8 and FF...

Of course IMSA cars aren't wannabes, it the Monza mirage that's a wannabe race car inspired by other wannabe
race cars...a la all show no go.
and now I'm confused; what race cars are you talking about? because it looked to me in that advert that the Mirage had those stripes as a homage to the Monza IMSA.

I was looking up the Honda HR-V and OH MY GOD WHAT IS THIS THING
To answer my own question, this is a Honda Crossroad. Made only for Japan, the Crossroad was sold from 2008-2010 with 2 engines, a 1.8 or 2.0L Inline 4. There's seating for 7 and and optional AWD.

But wait, there's more! Some 30 years ago, Honda had a partnership with Rover, so THIS happened. I even posted about it in the first 30-ish pages of this very thread!

Wow. The more I read my older posts the stupider I get.
What I meant to say is that the Monza Mirage was trying to be a race car, but it wasn't. It's a homage, but nothing compared to the Plymouth Superbird or Boss 302 Mustang. Sorry for the confusion.

So is this another kind of Chevrolet "Feretta", the car @Tornado mentioned a few pages back? A very interesting take on it, considering that the V8 is Chevy's and not Isuzu's, not to mention that strange blend of Caddy and Chevy visual parts...

Wait, is that really from the '60s? That design has aged brilliantly for all its worth, like a mini-MGB GT.

Can't remember if concept cars also go here but whatever, found this in another Nissan brochure, the FEV II, an electric concept car.

And that looks far too much like a Nissan New Beetle... An electrifying coincidence, perhaps?

I'll show myself out, thanks.

I'm intrigued by the offset engine. Presumably it's because an intermediate shaft wasn't used to cross under the pan and moving the engine over got the axles a little closer to equal-length. It could have also been to better balance the car laterally (like a certain Ferrari 330 TRI/LM) when being driven, but I'm inclined to believe the former.

Might be that and needing space for the steering rack to clear the engine and still function properly.

I was just really surprised you hadn't heard of it. No offense intended.

Well, I never did either. Well, kind of it ages ago buut only once I did search a while ago. I don't blame him, these classic Lambo's didn't live long, the one people most remember was the Miura, which made people forget about the 350/etcnumber GT.

Here's one I was ashamed I never knew 'till now. This is a '69 AC 428 Frua Drophead Coupe, I heard of the AC Cobra, but never this thing.

There's also a fixed-roof example:
