Yes on a road course the R34 will beat the R32 stock for stock. In a drag race no.
The R33 GTR Vspec would not how ever beat the R32. It is quite a bit heavier and same power output. It also has mechanical diffs and is more prone to oversteer and understeer until you replace them with the cusco units.

Thanks for more info. I think it was pretty clear I didnt know **** about GTRs when I posted that :) I didnt say if an R32 would beat an R34 in a drag race because I wasnt sure if there were any traction or other types of improvements that would help it in all out acceleration, as it has the same power and more weight.

not posted here yet so bear with me,

Isn't the fastest production sedan in the world? (the Carlton)
apparantly so...

No. The Brabus EV12 is at 211mph. The Carlton can 'only' do 175. In fact, an unrestricted M5 is faster.
brabus doesn't count since its not a production model, its a modified car. and no one really knew the top speed of the lotus carlton because they introduced it at the same time bmw agreed to restrict their cars. apparantly people in the uk thought we should do the same thing so vauxhall were told to keep quiet about the carlton in order not to enrage mp's and risk the 155 limiter becoming law.

yes a dream car should be unobtainable. But imo it is people who know less about cars that pick the newest lambos and ferraris as their dream cars, just because they are new and made by those companies. I think mazkid was trying to say that about me.

I have more respect for someone that has less mainstream models as their dream cars. it requires more thought, and a wider knowledge and appreciation of cars.
no one has the right to critisize someone's dream car, if it is the car they desire then you should let them be. you forget that at one time your beloved e30 M3 was one of the newest and best cars made by bmw.

as for the 959, don't you remember the supercar rivalry of the 80's and 90's advanR? f40's 959's countach diablo etc. every car that came out claimed to be the fastest in the world. the 959 is the only stock porsche to have a top speed exceeding 200mph, it is 4wd, and looks amazing. i would certainly love to have one.

it IS unfair to pick a SINGLE dream car, im sure everyone in this forum has a whole list of their most beloved. i'll try and remember some of mine in no particular order, though a poster of the f40 has been on my bedroom wall since 1987!! :D:

f40
f50
288 GTO
maclaren f1
mercedes clk-gtr supersport + roadster (dont like paddleshifter but they are beautiful and v.fast)
ferrari 512 M and 512 TR
lamborghini countach
porsche gt2, gt3, 911 turbo, RUF gt
skyline R34 gtr
chevrolet callaway sledgehammer (investigate this if u've never heard of it, fastest road legal car ever if im not mistaken)
saleen mustang
vector W8 twin turbo

Actually it is has better off the line traction and a bit more hp factory, but the R34 is nearly 300 lbs heavier so it boils down to power to weight.
Don't get me wrong I would never turn down the opertunity to own an R34 as I quite like the shape of them. The R33 however IMO was a mistake. Nissan turned it into too much of a sedan looking shape and that killed it its sales in Japan big time.

Dream car:
White, Nissan Skyline GT-R (R34) '99 V-Spec II

sorry about the bad quality, some things you have no control over.

not sure, the saleen looks sexier i think. and costs slightly more. as for the specs maybe you can work it out from their website?
www.saleen.com

oh and does anyone know how you pronounce saleen? is it say-lean? or sa-lean (sa as in saloon)...?

I think Saleen are an aftermarket modifyer, such as TRD, Spoon, Mazdaspeed, but are nto really associated with Ford, I think. I could probably be wrong, I'm not too familiar with American cars..

I've been fortunate to own two of my dream cars. While my tastes are not as exotic as many.

The first I owned for 7 years. A 1972 Corvette Stingray. the only modified part was the side pipe exhaust system other than that it was factory orginal.

The other is my current car a 1992 Skyline GTR or R32 GTR :)

Hey, does your R32 GT-R make that cool hissing engine sound?

It does have a bit of an induction noise but not as much as the games play them up to be. Because it has the factory twin turbo setup still and the turbos are quiet small.

It is difficult to tell in white at that angle. I would appear to be a GTT as the rear guards are not flaired much or appear that way and it would have the wrong badge in the front grill.

Where did you score that image from mate?

TOP 5 FAVORITES EVER:

5. '01 Nissan R390 GT1
4. '03 Pagani Zonda GR
3. '98 Lamborghini Diablo SVTT
2. '03 Ferrari Enzo
1. '95 McLaren F1 LM

all mclarens are my favorites, but i listed non-mclaren's for 2-5.

Yeah, that white Skyline is a GT-t. GTRs have flared guards, and completely different nose except the lights. The bonnet, or hood is also different. The GT-ts one comes down to the middle of the lights where the GTRs stops at the top
