Hmm, my Comcast 6mbit is either trippin or they upgraded my speed....

Although it may be the Speed Boost that is making it look faster than it is...:crazy:

Well Ive just changed ISP today from abysmal Virgin to the wonderful IDnet, Ive done some research into who to go with and im only able to recive ADSL and nothing more so speeds a restricted, but ive just done a speed test and it came out ok.

Down = 2291.79 Kbps
Up = 660.36 Kbps

TBH its not in the same league as allot of the connections here, but the ping should be better than 300 :lol: that we were getting.

Just upgraded my ADSL from 300Kbps/128Kbps to 1Mbit/300Kbps. Still very slow compared to other countries but at least it's three times faster than what I've been using in the last couple of years. :lol:

1545 kbps DL and 138 kbs upL

:(

I think my parents Pay around 40 or 45 per month, I got Verizon. Does anyone please help me on getting MUCH higher speeds? I just talk with my mom and she agreed if I find something CHEAPER or Simular in Price to get it going a LOT faster!
Im In Philadelphia PA, USA ;)

Any help would do. Thanks.

TB How much are you paying for yours? and 7megs? nice

So far I found FIOS from Verizon

There are two prices that seem good to me. If I get the $42.99 I will get 5 Mbps download 2 Mbps upload But for about 10 dollars more ill get 15 Mbps download 2 Mbps upload

Is the Fios worth it? And when I put my number in, it says its not available yet.. :( I dont know how long I will have to wait till I get it. Are there any Great Alternatives for about 40 dollars a month or less that will have GREAT speed?

Clicky. I don't know what is required to have Qwest DSL if you don't have a Qwest landline, though. Who knows. With a Qwest bundle package you might be able to save a few dollars. :)

Thanks, but seems like I'm going to be sticking with verizon for now. Going to wait for FIOS

I don't understand how people's upload speed is faster than download. :confused:

And i'm on the fastest available broadband in the country where i live. (512 kbps)

I'm just about to go into lan 2 is it? Whilst thats happening im changing provider therefore im gonna get a speed of about 10mb per sec!!!! I cant wait.

Your speeds could be a bit higher, but they aren't bad.

With great speed comes great ISP bills.

I don't know why, but i just decided to do it from America:

Okay, now here's my real one:

Not bad for Australia. :sly:

American speed is faster WTF?

Granted you've taken this to an extreme, but I very seldom get better results close to home. Most of the time my ping is worse close, as well. It all depends on where the ISP's backbone is run. I'd be willing to bet that if you ran 5 different speed tests at 5 different times of day to both places, they'd come out to damn near equal, as they are close to that already.
