306ms - I always seem to get screwed over when it comes to pc's; my ADSL2+ modem can't even exceed 1300kbp/s download speeds. :grumpy:

Its a 10 MB download and 1 MB upload connection.

Also these were tested for fun:

Amazing what kind of connections you can get.👍

Are you on 512kbps?

Here is my latest test, it's only getting slower and slower :scared:

When I had my old router, (Netgear) my speed was on average 4 times faster than this. I managed to get 20,000kbps and slightly over. But my new (to me) but old router, D-Link 504T GenII is giving me less speed. Although, I still am running the NetGear firmware and it's working. I haven't got the disc with the firmware for the D-Link but would it help the speed in any way?

I'm not sure, i'm on a Billion 10mbps ADSL2+ and i am on a 512kbps connection.

 🤬
I hate you Leon. :grumpy:

I tried a few other servers:

I don't know how i got double speed from 100 times as far away on a 512k conection:

Hell, London was pretty fast aswell:

This is what I have: 👍
ntcabokx4.jpg

(18Mb Downloads and 1Mb Upload)

And because of my router, this is what I get: 👎

Thank God, I don't have trafic limits. Unlimited Downloads and Uploads...yeeeaaahh. :)

And a funny fact is that in the server most close to me (Lisbon), I get less speed than one a bit far away (Barcelona), where I get better speed.

Yeah, i get 500kbs from Adelaide which is about 100km away, but i get almost double from New York which is about 15,000km away. It's bizzare, since i only have a 512kbs connection that i get 1,000kbs from there.

Yeah the server at New York(I live there) is really great.

I get download speeds in the 9M area where I have a 10:1 ratio between download and upload.

Just so I can beat you Leon :sly:

I flickered over 6k kb/s but just couldn't hold on long enough. :grumpy:

I was using dial-up for years. If i needed something faster or more complex, i could always just hop on a computer at work or at a friend's house. Nowadays, however, i got cable/broadband, which absolutely ROCKS.

Free connection upgrade from 4 to 10mb a few hours ago. Still can't host a stable full COD4 game. But what doesn't make sense is my friend with 2 meg and 300k upload can host one fine. I suppose my router must be at fault here. I know a few other computers are connected to the network but even when they're not being used my host isn't 100% stable. :ouch:

I may soon be blessed with the gift of wireless DSL broadband. Last Tuesday on what we thought would be Tropical Storm Edouard's wrath, my brother tried to get a broadband deal started here. Right now, we don't have the whole network set up with our Netgear WGR614 Wireless-G router. I may need to get one of those Netgear USB adapters so I can enjoy high-speed access (or I may take my chances installing another PCI card, only this one for my wireless access). What was my brother's room will be where the Wireless-G router will be at. I'm next door from my brother's room. So I may get to be part of the Broadband family for the first time instead of relying on going to school and using their systems (while learning, of course).

I may come back and update this depending upon what happens the next few days. We have the hardware, just not truly ready to have a broadband-enabled WiFi house yet. For now, I'm still doing the dial-up.

Cough, dsl and other stuff. We were MEANT to have adsl2+ but apparently my area which does have it doesnt have it.

Not bad for a 12meg connection over wireless on a slow as heck laptop.

Not bad for rural Australia in a town where DSL wasn't even available until recently...

EDIT: 714? That's heaps fast, mine's normally only at like 500.

I'm still on dial-up. Hopefully everything can be set up so that I can enjoy some broadband some day.

What more impresses me is the upload speed. 20Mb+!!! I didn’t know it was possible. I am really out of shape in terms of technology.

Best benefit of working for a university.

Fast Internet.
