And that's with $75 a month  The internet connection is running off my dad's work, practically next door to my house. It's not a secure wireless connection :sly:

My brother and my sister-in-law will be moving stuff from this house I'm in to their new house. One of the things that could be moved is the wireless router and the broadband Internet access I've enjoyed since September. I may go back to dialup. Keyword- MAY. So I'll have to see what happens if I can still be on here regularly with wireless broadband.

My upload speed just skyrocketed!:scared:

Okay. All is well. My brother and sister-in-law got themselves a new wireless broadband router. So all is well. However, I do wonder what it would be like if I had Wireless-G+ or Wireless-N...

Unless you have an internet connection that can top out 802.11g (very unlikely), the only benefit would be for file transfer over your private network.

I have a horribly unstable ADSL2+ connection (I think it's a line fault), and probably because of that, the not-so-good ADSL2+ speeds

9ms to an Adelaide server? you're in Melbourne.
For some reason Melbourne takes longer, it's really bizarre.

For some reason Canberra actually gives me the fastest speed.

You got that in Aus? Where the hell do you live and what type of connection do you have?
One of the perks of working in the IT Division of a University which happens to also be next door to Telstra. We're upgrading our lines soon too, so should get a little bit faster.

Canberra has less people using their services, which will give you a much better ping(less the better). A lower ping gives you a better connection also.
