It's an example page from the CE Apex booket up on PD's Japanese website :)

Semi premium confirmed!!!!!

- when asked about trying out a Standard car he pointed me towards the Jaguar; he said it’s sort-of
Standard although it said Premium

Some Standards and Premiums listed, even though all have dark windows :D
A page from the CE Apex book

And, as I predicted, PD still refuses to shows Standard Cars in the demo and continues to release premium only screenshots. This is starting to smell rotten.

As for that Apex book page, cool find :). As someone else already asked, could you zoom in on the cars so we could take a better look at them please? I would appreciate. (by the way, has anyone noticed that there are two DB9 Coupes, one standard and one premium, with little to no difference between each other? why?)

I guess this Jaguar is a Standard.5 but because you can't have a car and half you have to round it up. According to math rules, when it's a ".5", round it up which means Standard.5 = Premium :).

If they'd just modeled all the cockpit views and not the rear benches they would have had a lot of time to spare. Yet, I don't really care about the American muscle cars so not having an interior view in all of those doesn't mind me.

Having a DLC option PD can still send out updates for the different cars they create after the game is published.

I'm kinda curious as to why there's a premium and standard DB9... and then there's the two S2000 GT1's... paddin' at work.
Hold on, how do you know there's a premium and a standard DB9?

EDIT: Oh I see the one on the top doesn't have tinted windows, the second one does....

Taken from Famine's interview with KY.

there’s some good news on expected features, some better news on some potential fears and some great news on some unexpected (but by now, thanks to “other sites”, internet-wide) features.

I'm hoping this is relating to standard cars not having interior views?

I mean I can't think of any other potential fears which the community had about the game...Maybe we will find out at 9am.

Different production years, if you check in detail.

As I've already mentioned though, there's still no actual mechanical differences between the DB9's. Only difference is the '06 has more paint options (and well, is Premium).

Padding still at work.

The only other fear I can think of is the ability to race standard premium together.
Then some people think they should be segragated some think they shouldn't.

Hope your theory is right fella.

For me too! Whatever the end result is though doesn't matter; I have already pre-ordered the Collectors Edition (in Canada at Play N Trade who now has a SKU for the CE):)

I have a question for all those that say they refuse to drive a standard car in the game.

What if, the premium cars had a premium price, and you don't have enough money to buy one at the beginning of the game? If they are separated in the game, like some think, what if there is a standard only race available that has to be completed to open up/unlock certain premium cars? Again, if there is a standard only race, and people want to get 100% complete in the game, are you going to drive a standard car to achieve that?

Basically what I am saying is, if GT mode requires the use of some standard cars, are you guys that refuse to drive standard cars, going to just not play the game, or just complete certain aspects of the game?

I will play all aspects (cars) of the game, but once completed (e.g. licenses) I'll likely stick with premium cars if the standard cars do not have a 'generic' cockpit view.

Solution:
Do the Licenses. I'd think that there'll be at least one premium car among the cars you could win by passing them.

I presume Premium cars will be all "new" cars in Dealerships, while Standards will be circulating in Used Cars sections.

So, Premiums will indeed have higher price than Standard, but it will be made in game philosophy context.

Anyone here still got fears of weather, not going in GT5 ?.

Well KY kinda hinted that 'some tracks' will have 'some things', so not all will have day night cycles for example. I think weather will appear but it will only be on select courses. If you havent already read the interview with KY on the news page have a look and that might clear stuff up 👍

What if the licenses tests include standard cars? Will all the ones that refuse to drive standard cars not pass that license test? I am just saying that I think it will be impossible to not drive atleast one standard car in the game, unless some just hate the standard cars so much that they won't even play the game at all because just the thought of driving one makes them sick.

That would make sense, although It will be weird seeing an Audi R8 LMP in the used car lot.

Knowing that you are kind of a prophet around here, i would hate to go up against you and counter-argue what you have to say...

But in this case, i cannot help but give you a flag for your latest comment...

In the context of GT5
Premium does not necessarily mean brand new car (as in cars from 2009 onward), and even less so Expensive cars (as a lot of people still confused).
Standard only mean resolutions and details that are below that of Premium cars. (but you knew that already)

But rather what i am trying to point out is:

You can very much have an OLD FIAT 500 as premium and be in the Used car section.

As you can have a AUDI R8 LMP as standard and coming from the dealership section.

This is just my best guestimate. It is an educated guess, so i can still be wrong... but here i think you are more wrong than me...

Putting in a better light, you are less right than me? :)

If they do have weather then I'm sure the TG Test Track is one that will.

As much as everyone likes you, I have to say you're wrong. We already know that premium cars are the ones of true GT5 quality with incredible level of detail while standard cars are carried over from GT4/GTPSP but with updated reflections.

Premium

Standard

Even though the pictures are small, at least I can see a huge difference between the two.

So PD are presumably putting both the Premium and the standard versions of the same cars in the game? Wow, that's worse than even I imagined they would stoop to.

Which car are you referring to??
Which car exist in both forms : Premium and Standard ?

i would guess that they will only keep one copy of it... the Premium version and discard the GT4 version...

that's called updates.

Initially/Ideally, they were supposed to do the same for every single cars from GT4 and previous GT games...

I posted a reply to your post at this address: in the Weather/Day Cycle Thread:

Hey guys, no problem there, I said that I presume, and I realy do. And I am really no prophet or something similar, I just happen to get some info some time earlier, nothing more :)

November will show, I really see logic as I described but I'm possibly also wrong :D

👍
