I hope even if only 200 cars will have interior view, those cars will be worth it. I hope those with interior views are the rare and best cars. But will the Nascar cars and Rally cars or even the kart cars eat up the numbers of those 200 cars? Or per category there will be 1 or two premium cars like for example if its a Mitsubishi Lancer, the highest version GT version will have interior view, guys get the point?

And is 200 the final number or it will increase a bit? I still don't get it why they cannot do at least 40% of the 1000 cars. Well on the bright side the game is looking like a PS4 game, a lot of features, weather effects, track editor, better AI, night and day effect, extra mode like karting, a lot of racing tracks, better physics, and some damage effects.

Damn it still bugs me a bit but i think i will move on. But it is still so few not even 40%, sigh... But i know this will be the best racing sim ever. nothing is perfect maybe Gt6 can do 10,000 cars with cockpit. Well i hope it is still possible for a future DLC for cockpit. And maybe Porsche in the future. :-)

I don't think the premiums are picked that way... premiums are basically cars that weren't already built somewhere else to use the assets for.

The interior on the Prius should be sweet though!

I am curiuos how we can say this looks like a PS4 game... on a forum where "you don't know till you actually play it" is kind of the mantra I just dont' get how we go saying things are like future things that we have no idea what will be like.

Today is like next week! :)

There's a false dichotomy for you.

How about a realistic choice like decent looking trees and we knock 200 polygons off each car?

How about instead of PS4 quality cars we have PS3 quality cars becauase... you know... it's a PS3.

I like when people come along, state the PS3 has limited resources and then make claims about what has to be cut exactly where because of it. Like any of us actually knows where and how solid that line is.

Seriously, make the trees * instead of X and it's already a lot better... that would take HOW many extra polygons per track? A few hundred MAYBE? And we have cars with 400k+ polygons EACH?

Yeah there was no wiggle room there.

While i agree cause even PGR 3 had decent foilage maybe they did slack on trees, maybe they didn't, we won't know for sure till Nov 2nd-3rd just like every other detail and feature and or maybe it's just not their priority at all. As for the polygons GT wouldn't be GT without the insane detailed cars which is what GT is known for right?

Well i still hope the numbers of premium will increase a bit when it is finally release or better yet DLC for cockpits for other cars in the future. I don't want to compare but It is still strange that Forza can do it for 400+ cars even with a short amount of time

If you ask me the standard cars belong in the past. I rather see PD spend there time making more Premium cars that tweaking the old GT4 standard's.

Its because they did the same thing like the standard cars but instead of doing "new ones" they reused old assets and put semi cockpits on them.

Yeah there was no wiggle room there.

So, you're expecting to be adding 200 * 5 (cars visible, average) / 25 (trees visible, average) = 40 polygons per tree extra.

Is it worth it?

* instead of x is a 50% gain in the poly budget for the trees - it might overwhelm the overall budget for static scenery (spectators, tents, barbecues etc.) and we all know we can't do without the smell of roasting Bratwurst on the 'Ring...
The cars are rarely being displayed at 400k; usually it'll be much lower than that. I actually don't know how PD could use a discrete LoD system on the cars with only 512 Mb of memory for everything, maybe its continuous...

Seriously, learn about how game engines do their thing these days, and know that PD have demonstrated that they can squeeze every last drop from a given (playstation) platform and then re-evaluate your master plan to revolutionise the industry... :P

I also loved your self contradiction / hypocrisy. 👍 :)

Well I don't blame Ps3, Ps3 is capable of showing a lot of content and graphics. Maybe PD learned there lesson on how to a lot there resources in the future. Well I just hope they just at least made an average cockpit view for the standards just to make it uniform. Even forza quality cockpit will do just to make it uniform for everything. Well no use on crying on spilled milk. The features alone is worth it.

Well Don't expect great scores from nit picky Gametrailers, IGN and especially EDGE. They will nitpick about this cockpit issue and might even make a weird criticism of to much variety hehehe!

I still don't get it! :dunce:
Are they repeat models? Were they not available in red? They both definitely existed!
Lexus did indeed sell a car called the GS300. It was not sold as a Lexus in Japan, and it was not equipped with a Supra Turbo engine. There is no such thing as a JDM Lexus GS300 turbo.
Likewise, Nissan did sell a car called the 240SX. It did not come with an SR20DET engine, it came with a considerably less powerful non-turbo KA24DE and was tuned much softer to suit the American market.
Here's another example: Nissan did sell a car called the 300ZX. It was considerably more powerful than the JDM Fairlady Z, but PD have refused to acknowledge that fact since the 2nd game in the series despite labeling the car with its American name.

PD took the time to go back and model the minor differences between the regional variations of some cars so they could whitewash everything starting with GT4; but they made no attempt whatsoever to model any performance differences in the cars, which in some cases are absolutely night and day.
And while this wasn't a problem in GT4 (well, it was, but it could be ignored), GTPSP made it a problem by putting all of the regional versions in the game. So GT5 is going to have 800 or so Standards, but more than 100 of them are going to be shameless duplicates, and most of those are going to be flat out incorrectly done.

Now, maybe it is just me, but it doesn't sound that much like they are pursuing Quantity and Quality when they are including probably 50 cars or thereabouts that have blatantly incorrect performance statistics that 30 seconds on Google could fix just so the final car roster will be larger.

I agree.
Which makes it odd that only 20% off the cars will be up to there standards.
What I mean is that the premium level should really be standard by this stage.

One way or another people your point is moot.

You: "Ok i need to focus for this next string of turns to overta- ugh that tree just isn't perfect *crash*"

I hope in gt6 there will be no more premium and standard. All cars will have cockpit. Anyway this will motivate us to race better and win more since we want to get the premium cars.

Aaahh... I see. I've not played GT PSP. Yes, leaving the 2 litre turbo in the 240 SX is a bit, well, stupid really. And I missed the (J) on the "GS" :embarrassed:
Is the Zenki S14 240 SX also included? I've gone off the Kouki...

10% duplicates, though? Seems a touch high to me, but maybe it's true.

yeah true, but 1000 cars x 140 total employees x time restriction.

we don't know how many of them are graphic artist now do we? also consider the x amount of graphic artist just can't work on cars alone.

I think making the GTpsp did not help them and affected there development time and resources to make all the cars with cockpit. Damn that gtpsp which is not even good

they have to pay automakers license fees to use the cars in the game and their not cheap.

Were going round in circles. The cars are already in the game. Unless you mean they have to pay again to model the interior.
If so I get what you mean, I didn't realise they would have to pay twice.

Answer the idea of free dlc too. Not a chance.

no I'm referring to the budget they've already spent which is an estimated 60 Million dollars, and during the course of the development cycle they didn't use much to hire staff and on top of that they had to pay the automakers and other fees, like i said on the last page they didn't have or hire enough staff which is why i said

1000 cars x 140 total employees 5 year time restriction.

we don't know how many of them are graphic artist now do we? also consider the x amount of graphic artist just can't work on cars alone.

which is why we only have 200+ Premium cars, also note that the GT4 vison were not to include an interior now if they had thought ahead and started making interiors back in 2005 we might have had 800 premiums instead.

Yes.

10% duplicates, though? Seems a touch high to me, but maybe it's true.
All of the Miatas, all of the Lexuses, most of the Renaults, all of the Opels, both of the Scions, all of the S2000s, all of the Fairlady Zs (240z, 300ZX, etc.), most of the RX-7s, all of the 3000GTs, both of the Nissan Primeras, several of the Nissan Silvias, all of the Nissan Micras, some the Acuras, all of the Vitz models, a few of the Vipers, and the Hyundai Tiburon.

That may seem like a lot, but that isn't even the full list. That is just what I was able to see spending about 5 minutes going through my garage. Also keep in mind that some of those are duplicated twice. The S2000 has versions of each model that is USDM, JDM and EDM. The same applies to the Fairlady Z models. Then you have to add the ones that were duplicates back in GT4 (like the special color Skylines and the special Ford GT) that returned for GTPSP. All told, I expect the number is actually closer to 150 cars than it is 100; and a large portion of them have incorrect specs or simply never existed to begin with.

Sorry if answered
I know some vids show "bonnet" view. I still have my doubts, but anyways, can anyone confirm that the "standard" cars have bonnet views? If it has, the pain of not having cockpit view wouldn't be so hard to bear.

you people honestly think that if they said there was (as some have said) 450 cars with in car driving which is less than GT1 and every game after that. you would not complain?

rather than over 1000 cars to exceed all previous GT titles?

Don't we all remember when kaz said he didn't want to put in cockpit views unless he could do it right? can't you just respect that?

Well can i just ask if the cars selected to be premium are the best, or classic or rare cars or the newest cars?

By the since they promise that both this car will appear i hope to see them as premium cars. The Honda super GT and Lexus LFA.
