Standards were cockpit view capable,if they had this feature a lot of people will be focusing on the quality of the models, nevertheless I want to show you this because the quality of a simple car on GT4 will always be superior to current gen models, excepting big mayor titles like dirt series or grid or NFS the GT4 models looks like current gen (deny this its like denying that games like NFS pro street,FM2 and NFS undercover never exited).

Convertables in GT4 had a visible interior. And to be fair, looking at GT4 on a compressed 360p youtube video covers up a lot. I can tell you absolutely that on my HDTV and Projectors even via component set at 1080i GT4 still shows it's age compared to GT5P and the likes.

And I am not sure what you mean GT4 models look like current gen except the big names and then you name all the names of the same genre... I mean they are arguably better than current open world or sandbox games which also feature cars but that's usually limited to looks alone and doesn't account for things like sepereate body panels and damage - even GTA4 had interiors of cars modeled all be it roughly. Either way this brings us back to the much beleagured comparison I made with Tekken 6 and GTA4: you can't really compare across genres to assess "current gen"

Have relatives there? ;)

No I don't, I'm as Asian as Rutger Hauer is and to be honest I don't know very much about which companies are located in Vietnam and what quality of work they deliver or about Vietnam in general and am not ashamed to admit that as I don't make statements which suggest the inferior quality has anything to with the country it originated from ( as I do know Vietnam isn't the same country anymore like it was about 30 years ago and therefore I imagine it doesn't fit the image most still have when the name Vietnam is mentioned and I can even imagine a booming high-tech sector like most upcoming Asian economies seem to have ).

Again I agree with you that the footage I've seen of those Forza interiors ( still haven't actually played it ) do not look as nice or even accurate as those seen in GT5 footage but I could imagine a Vietnamese company able to create a game like GT5 if they had the funds PD have.
Talented and creative people are not limited to certain countries only and just assuming everybody is convinced of poor quality by mentioning Vietnam to illustrate this just isn't meaningful anymore these days.

There were a lot of Western companies who moved their production facilities to low-cost Asian countries thinking the R&D, design and advertising/marketing departments remained in either Europe or the US.
Guess what, those sectors also boomed in those countries and didn't only competed on costs but offered similar or even better quality taking less time at a speed nobody saw coming.
So blame me that when Vietnam is mentioned I don't automatically conjure up images of rice fields or poorly schooled workers only anymore.
Again I know next to nothing about Vietnam but knowing something at all is also being aware of the knowledge you don't have.;)

And just to keep igniting the fire check this out:

Yeah they had on replays. Obviously it was difficult on PS2. They need not be premium but they can easily do it now.

Opinion noted, fanboy. That is one of the most pathetic posts I have seen on here in a long time.
I do laugh at being called a fanboy. I can guarantee I have trebled the number of hrs I have played Forza 2 & 3 compared to you. If your such a fan of Forza how come i've never met you online or seen your name on any leaderboards?

You know its about time you faced reality. The loyal support for Turn 10 is dwindling fast and this is largely due to the decisions made by Turn 10. Now you probably won't find many negative posts on Forza.net because the mods instantly delete them. However I can guarantee when the UE was announced it was bedlum on Forza.net.

Lets look at some facts. Now FM3 only sold 2.8 million copies and this was when Turn 10 were popular. However the combination of a community that feels betrayed by Turn 10 and the release of GT5 will severely affect the sales of FM4.

Lets also be honest that when it comes to GT franchise Vs Forza franchise the sales of Forza aren't anywhere near the levels of GT. Even a glorified demo of GT5 sold 2 million more copies than FM3.

Don't get me wrong I loved Forza 2 and in my opinion it was the best console racing game. However like I said Turn 10 have made a catalogue of errors with Forza 3 and i've listed these on the link below.

It is the closest competition on council it's obvious it will be talked about, kinda like NBA 2K and Live comparisons are healthy for seeing where the competition is at.

Talking about the kubalwagon, what was kaz thinking? this should be the last “vechicle“ he should include. What happened to CCX, Zonda F, Trevita, F50, Monaro, Leon, Sesto Elemento, CCXr, Apollo being in the game? let alone being premium.

Kaz is very hung up on the history and heritage of the automobile. I guess he thinks that every "car/video game guy" out there feels/should feel the same.

If your such a fan of Forza how come i've never met you online or seen your name on any leaderboards?

I'm sorry, but that has what to do with how much of a fan you are?
Unless you're good you can't be a fan? Never going online means you can't be a fan?

You did not know Kaz only cares about him self?.. Many of the cars choices are not in high demand.... But the world does not revolve around super cars. Focus RS, 2011 Mustang, RS4, RS5, 2010 Eclipse GT, 2010 CTS-V, CLS63 and others I'd personally like to see but we will have to take what they give us even if its 3 novelty VW's and NASCARs....

I have, and they are VERY active, lol.

Just like many abandoned GT4 and GT5p. It happens as the game ages and other games come out. Yes, even for Forza and GT.

But FM3 is way newer game over GT4 with more content and online mode. GT5Prologue is bit new, but its very limited game, with limited online mode. So I do not understand why FM3 is so low in numbers now. Or maybe they do see its not a quality game, and that FM3 is not really a sim.. stupid steer aid that can not be turned off! As for myself. I abondoned GT5 Prologue, and I abandoned FM3 (main reason, stupid aid steering system).. waiting for the almighty car sim GT5.

Ya, I always wondered why Forza was so much easier than GT:sly:

I am sorry but I can't agree with that sentiment... Kaz has stated he listens to the fans and puts things in they want... he even said damage was in mostly due to user request.

Even if KY only cared about himself, as a company PD has to be a little more open minded than that and certainly Sony.

At the end of the day, I think PD has gone too far with the 3 VW vehicles, and they really should be the last vehicles to make it in a racing video game. I really cant think of something this ridiculous since the Diamlar motor wagen. Both are nothing but novelty, and frankly, 95% of the community will on drive them for the specific challenge

FM3 has sank for people who feel butt hurt. Their fault for putting all their eggs in the online basket. I rarely play online and therefore FM3 has relatively few hiccups that would put me off the game.

If FM.net loses the whiners who do the emo goodbye threads then it'll be a much better place. As for saying FM4 will flop, just how many people will buy a PS3 to play GT5 out of curiosity? The same will happen when FM4 launches. People won't be able to help themselves and those who complain will not buy it and cut their noses off to spite their face.

I think the same applies to this place. There are plenty of emo threads and posters who do nothing but complain. I am not talking about the members who contribute to the big picture of good and bad either. The ones I speak of are the individuals who just log in to post negative comments and keep silly discussions going with counter points to everything said. Do a search in this very thread, and specifically target the ones who are always on the "disappointing" side of things.

With all that said, it's a good thing I am not running this place..

I am torn with the less exciting cars... on one hand it's awesome to find your daily driver of first car listed amongst the dealers, however they do tend to be novelty items a lot...

He is supposed to somehow insert a car into the game that wasn't even shown off until 4 weeks before the game's launch date?

I have to agree with this.

The WWII vehicles as Premiums really baffle me, because I'm not sure anyone really considers these guys to have contributed to automotive history all that much, let alone motorsports! And personally I see the minibus the same way. But one thing is for certain, that this is one more indication that Kaz is his own man, and he sees something interesting in these oddball inclusions. And because they're in, I'll sure keep and race them, at least once.

Still, with the Premiums at such a "premium," I do hope this is the last time he does something quite this weird.

I think the theory was probably no work on new cars unless they are premium. Kind of like do it right or don't do it at all.

But I think we all agree it's puzzling why the choice wasn't "don't do it at all" at least until other more interesting cars got done... all I can think about was they really didn't want to work on updating standards to premiums too much because it doesn't add to the car count then.

I don't think PD or Kaz see GT as just a racing game. If GT5 physics is a big improvement over GT5P- I feel the TT demo was already a huge step in the right direction- which means it's a huge improvement over GT4 then quirky vehicles like the SambaBus (which I happen to love) and the Kubelwagen will give anyone interested in those vehicles a better insight on how these cars handle. And that to me is a plus- to be able to sense the evolution of utility vehicle (which both the SambaBus and Kubelwagen were/are) from the past to the present.

My only hope is that PD has the wisdom to limit what upgrades/tires can be put on these vehicles. A Supercharged SambaBus equipped with R3 tires is a bit too much.

Odd, my cockpits look great.

From FM3 (can't remember the car). You're one brake away from gouging you eye.

Its not close on how much better GT5 cockpit look compared to Forza3. In GT5P you can look fully left, right and back. I will take those 200 fully detail cockpits anytime.

In terms of accuracy i don't think anyone has GT beat. As good as other games are, you can just see how close to the real thing GT is. Those pics above are just SOME of the examples. Even if GT has some things that are off, they aren't big. Look at that Forza picture. The Rollcage of the SuperGT cars do not go that far forward in your point of view. If that's what 'cockpit' cam is supposed to replicate. It'd be like your head hitting the ceiling of the car. That's not how you sit in those cars.

Many bonus stuff, I hate. It's like buying a car and getting bonus cloth useless floor mats, that get dirty quick! These days Bonus stuff are mostly the most useless things around.

Or maybe they could have hired someone to help them, after all they have spend millions of dollars in who knows what. Theres some very good 3d modelling companies out there and PD could have make the finishing touches to the 3d models instead of having us waiting 3 years of delays to give us 80% of the cars ported from GT4 with some upgrades.

Also why we need this instead of decent cockpit for another 2 cars?

Remind me which one is real :). But yeah it is a slight overkill that this level of detail has to be consistent to 200 let alone 800 more.
