Your thoughts about "standard" vs. "premium"

Seeing that standard car really boosted up my excitment a bit with all the negativety around here.
I knew that they were making out the game to be better then it actually was as with any game but it seem that recently all there is coming out is negative stuff.. which would make sense as we have been blessed with all the candy early on and it has woren quite thin by now.

you really really seem to underestimate how much of a difference lighting makes in a game..

I do not need a clear picture to see the reflections, lighting and wheels/tires make a difference.

that is a crappy Image photo mode would be a way better picture.

Oh believe me, I understand... it's a big deal, but making the call off a cam screen grab when we've been told so long that the direct feed CR5 video was "compressed" or otherwise not good enough quality... yea...

What were Polyphony Digital thinking when they made the decision not to allow standard wheel changes?

In those nearly six years of development, they couldn't take a few programmers aside and be like "hey, can you make this work?" If you think about it, it doesn't logically make sense, considering you can change the paint and add wings.

So here's hope to a patch, but, I'm certain we won't ever get one. Instead, just a big "wait until GT6."

At least we didn't get completely shafted on the details of the premiums (they look awesome), even though I must question some of the premium car choices.

I dont think the point he's trying to make is based off of nothing more than the picture but all the cars in general in game. And its been seen already that they do in fact look better than the original thanks to the new reflections and 3D wheels.

Couldn't agree more.

I'm still disappointed there isn't at least a rudimentary cockpit option for standards, but after watching those videos, I'm excited to try out some of the standards too.

I dont mind the standards at all in fact i welcome them,i believe they add to the immersion the only real letdown is the rim fiasco and lack of an explanation as i am also sure Kaz must be aware of the disappointed GT fanbase with regards the standards now to add insult to injury 'the rims of a standard car cannot be changed.' This makes it just a little more harder to swallow, seeing as how that specific civic also had a race mod in GT2 AND NONE AVAILABLE NOW it begs to question...just how will the standards be treated in general.Lastly I know this game is really to showcase where the GT brand is heading a la GT6 but GT5 is what we get now so if 800 standards were to be thrown in then at least the same level of customization as in gt4 should be available for these cars.

According to the latest info by a GTPlanet user who's got a copy of GT5, Standard cars cannot be used with the Photo Travel feature
The normal Photo Mode works for them, though.

Still doesn't look comparable with the premiums to me, and the difference will be even clearer on my 1080p monitor.

The little things are what make or break a game.
regardless i'll buy GT5, theres so much good about it, but these little things are a real let down, and a step backwards.

GT4 allowed you to change the wheels, and the fact is, these models are meant to be from GT4, i can hardly see what the wheels have to do with model anyway.

everyones always talks about how Gran Turismo is a strive for perfection, and while its the case for the premium cars, these little things just show how imperfect it is.

Whos going to bother with Photo mode on a standard car if it looks like a stock car?

I'd rather the standard cars be in there, then nothing but changing the wheels is the most basic modification you can do.
