I am a GT fan and for me it looks pretty good !!

And on par (if not better) with FM2 and FM3

They don't look as bad as I thought, but on par with the Forza pictures you added? How much bias does it take to say that?
Okay, due to the low res, it looks less edgy and all, but one look at the headlights and you'll see what I'm talking about...

On par with Forza, my butt... This looks plain horrible. I guess Deve was indeed right, it was down to the crappy quality of the picture that the Civic looked good.

Depressing.

Add, when taking a photo of standards from a replay. They limit you to how close you can zoom in.

To the list.

Apparently reverse lights don't work either, add that.

Sorry if already posted.

I just watched the Standard cars video from tekken
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7s-z5NPUgNE
and at 0:19 you can see THERE WILL NOT BE A HOODVIEW THAT IS LEVEL WITH THE COCKPIT VIEW INSTEAD THERE WILL ONLY BE A ROOF LEVEL VIEW.
In other words WHAT A F$ING DISAPPOINTMENT ON ALL STANDARD CARS.

Ah yes. The old "Important ergonomic features that vary from player to player, and would be super easy to let the players adjust it themselves, but instead lets decide for them and not let them". Personally I would like to get the huge, cluttered white HUD out of my face on special occasions. GT6?

They look to me like somebody cut out the car from a screenshot and got to work with an airbrush in a graphics package...poorly. If that really is from GT5, I am seriously beginning to doubt the quality of this game. Forza 3 may not be up there with the premium stuff, but at least what you get in Forza 3 is a consistent experience regardless of the car you drive.

SONY would be mad to let the reviews out before the game releases.

They'll probably try their hardest to push any reviews back as far as possible. I wouldn't even be ssuprised if even major gaming websites like IGN wouldn't even receive a review disk.

Most people who aren't very hardcore about GT probably don't even know about how the standnard cars look and the amount of features they lack, as it's forums like these that start to spread the word.

Really, I'm starting to see GT5 drop out of the 80% range at meta critic by now...
I do hope the premiums are decently modifiable and that the racing is as good as I expect it to be...

I'm starting to see sub-GT4 levels for this as well. Maybe even GTPSP levels depending on how much some reviewers catch on to things.

I can't believe how worked up people get about tiny things, like not being able to change a car's rims. Personally, I'll probably never do it anyway.
I think "can't use Standards in Photo Travel" is a pretty damn major thing, actually.

Has anybody readied a full list of Standard cars limitations?

- Can't be used in Photo Travel
- Can't change their wheels
- Can't paint their wheels
- Can't be race modified (to be confirmed, but likely)
- Limited zoom in Photo Mode
- Limited body kit selection (only GT4-style wings)
- No internal camera view (cockpit view)

Anything else?

Lack of detail?

But i'll still use and enjoy the standards, heres hoping the data collected for those cars in GT4 were accurate so i can see how all those cars really drive :)

I'm amused by the panic and angst in this thread.

The standard look fine. Better than fine judging from tekkens video. And it's borderline ridiculous for people to be talking about review scores (as if they mean anything anyway) after seeing a handful of 3 minute videos.

I was dissapointed by the lack of some features for standards too, but the most recent video (and the sound video with the Mugen Civic) made me very happy.

Im more excited to play this game then ever now!

A lot of them in GT4 had inaccurate specifications/wrong data, so I hope at least that the faulty cars have been corrected.

What happens when you race standard and premium cars and you try to take a photo? How does the game know to destinguish the zoom between the two?

What im thinking is that you not only can not zoom in too close on standards in race mode but rather that you cant zoom in to close at all unless your racing premium only.

Right, let's add that to the list.

I don't want to start another unsubstantiated rumour wagon rolling, but could career mode feature purely Premium cars and no Standards for opponents? I think the only video we've seen so far is the Deep Forest Licence Test, which looks all Premium but I can't be certain.

To bad they didn't make something simple like this for the standards.

well you know they have to save something for GT6.. I mean if they implement everything into GT5 what will they have left for GT6?

I honestly think that they had and were able to implement these things. Eg. Rim changes and that basic cockpit view.. But they chose to leave it for GT6 as they started work on it even before GT5 went gold.

standard is not a good name for standards. I think the poors would be better. Premiums could be standards. Then we would have Standard & Poor's. ;)
