I feel like I should remind some people around here that they do not own or moderate this forum. They are not the ones who decide what should and shouldn't be discussed around here.

As SlipZtrEm pointed out, this topic has been beaten to death. I lost count of how many times I repeated myself. That's why I stopped posting here and barelly check this thread at all. Maybe these people should do the same. If the subject bothers you and you don't wanna talk or hear about it, then don't come to the place where people talk about it. It's really that simple.

Honestly, if people still want to discuss this then let them. As long as they stay within the rules I don't see why any moderator should lock this thread.

If someone said "PD shouldn't have bothered with modelling the 200 premium cars and instead should have just made all of them crappy standard cars" that to me gives me the impression that they are ungrateful of what they have been given. If we indeed did just have 1000 standard models and GT5 came out a year earlier, people would be moaning that that is all we got. Surely if you don't update the models in one GT, you're going to have to do it in the next. Yeah Kaz has said he over did them, but at least they're done now. You've waited part of the 5 years for 200 beatifully modelled cars and now you're all moaning. "That's funny".

What pisses me off the most isn't that I want more [a.k.a. I'm ungrateful with what I got]. I'm pissed because PD just flat out played us for fools. Every single footage released up until now had premium cars in it. We were led to believe the cars in the game had unbelievable graphics inside and out. But now we find out 80% of the cars neither have insides nor look that impressive.

So for me it's not really about what the game is missing, but what we were mislead to believe in.

Just an example for "I lost count of how many times I repeated myself".

Ungrateful when I'm throwing $100 of my hard earned money at them for the CE? Whatever you say. I apologize for being concerned about the product I am purchasing. I fully realize that they're busting their tails day-in-day-out to deliver the best product possible, but that doesn't exempt them from criticism, just like any other game developer. Next time I'll be completely careless with my money and I will congratulate developers for bad decisions.

If anything I see it happening more with the other side of the argument. Every page we get the general consensus, from both sides, that yes, so far the Standards look like ported-over GT4 models. New lighting, and they look better than GT4 itself, yeah, but they are GT4 models.

Then a page later, we get another "enlightened" individual stating it should be obvious to everyone, despite the argument being well-worn, that they "obviously" aren't GT4 models. That's getting far more tiring than people who are voicing their displeasure at the two-tier system. I've talked to kingcars; we both have the CE preordered. It's not baiting so much as responding to the same (sorted, discussed, generally agreed upon) argument every page.

^What he said 👍 . I'm done with this topic as well. Even the standard car advocates admit to them being mainly GT4 models; the few who haven't admitted it are either lying to themselves or have no idea what they're actually looking at. So that's settled, lets move onto the next topic, shall we?

Dude, haven't you read all the discussions here since E3?
The graphics engine is GT5, but the cars are from GT4/PSP.
Only 200 "Premium" cars will look as good, or better, as the cars in Prologue.

GT5P Replay and Ingame nearly look identical. The cars are exactly the same, they just added motionblur and some other effects to it.

Prologues replays don't look right sometimes. They have this heat haze thing going on. Some cars in the forground have heat shimmer, my car behind has none.

I really don't know about you and quite a few others on this forum but I'm happy with the way GT is going.

What the hell? I just thought i'd peruse this thread and this is quite frankly one of the more ridiculous things i have read on these forums. And i'm sure you know about some of the ridiculous things that have been said on these forums.

So let me get this straight. Infact, let's turn this into a practical syllogism - well kind of:
You like premium cars, and its safe to assume from what you have said that you want them in the game.
200 premium cars are in the game.
800 other cars are also in the game.

But you want a game without the extra 800 cars - but this does not change the amount of content - the premium - cars that you want.

How does the mere presence of the 800 cars affect your enjoyment of the 200 premium cars?

Your statement is so unbelievably illogical its almost laughable. You are STILL getting 200 "prologue-quality" models. In no way is your apparent enjoyment of these models being hindered, or reduced. If you do not want to use the 800 then simply don't. The core of your enjoyment lies elsewhere.

The fact that you are taking contention with the presence of 800 cars, that you don't want is you being a whiny brat.

I am merely stating my opinion about how out of place the models from GT4 with their blacked out interiors will look, next to the Prologue-quality ones. So I'd rather only have 200 cars with cockpit view and next-gen quality, and none of this two-tier rubbish.

Sure I wont race them as much.. but I'd prefer to have a them so even though some of my fav cars (spykers and such) may not be awesome.. Ill still be able to race them....

If you only like the prologue cars go play bloody prologue...

The discussion is nothing more than speculation. Nothing indicates that the 200 Premium cars will only be as good as the cars in GT5 Prologue. If that were the case, where do all the added details and polygons g? And as to standard cars, aren't most of the cars in Prologue from GT4; The Ford GT, DB9, the R34 GTR and countless others. If the cars in Prologue are any indication of what to expect from GT5, why should it be less. To me none of the speculation seems to make much sense.

I could imagine that they added some more details to the cars from Prologue in the 3, doesn't change that they are Premium.

Ever heard of getting both? I agree the cars will look out of place in comparison to the premiums, but then by that logic ugly people look out of place in comparison to beautiful people. And that just sounds ridiculous. What you said sounds as ridiculous as that. Whether you would want a world full of beautiful people and no ugly ones, is not only up to you, the world is not something you possess. Similarly, the content of the game is not entirely up to you (it is to some extent since, we as consumers, are what the product is produced for) and neither is the game your property, even when you buy it, you are merely licensing the use of the intellectual property of another. And you need to bear in mind that is exactly what it is. Someone else's intellectual property - if they deem it reasonable to include both 200 premium and 800 "filler" cars then so be it. I am sure they have much, much smarter people than you and I working out optimal marketing strategies.

It's not that I don't care about the standard cars, but when I race a standard car, I want to race against all standard cars. When I race a premium, I want to race against a premium. The details on each will look awkward together, along with 2 cars getting into a wreck...1 driving away with scratches, the other with its hood popped up and fenders smashed. The game's immersion will be completely destroyed by a mix of premiums and standards. And thankfully, to this point at least, I havent seen any videos or screenshots of them mixed.

A valid point showing how the standard cars can "affect your enjoyment of the 200 premium cars". Compelling enough to keep me wondering if they should actually separate them both, as suggested. I won't go as far as saying the 800 standards should be completely removed from the game, the benefits far surpass the disadvantages the way I see it, but I guess you can see now why some people would suggest that.

And although I think your insult to the people who think they should be removed is a way to self-inflate your ego instead of a way to get your point across, I want to point out that, contrary to what you may think, it doesn't help your argument in any positive way.

I really don't know about you and quite a few others on this forum but I'm happy with the way GT is going.

For someone who's all over me for no good reason, you sure as heck haven't been reading my posts very well. I can't remember how many times I've typed out my suggestion. They should never have marketed GT5 as a game with 1000 cars. Instead, it should be a game with 200 cars, and a bonus GT Classic HD mode with the old favorites.

I'm not as bothered about the cars themselves as I am with the marketing behind the game.

Omg please stop....I'm laughing too hard. Worst analogy I've ever seen. Is what you said above an excuse that game companies can use when they come out with a game that looks 7 years old? And will you now go onto every gaming forum on the internet and tell them to stop criticizing games because the game companies apparently have much smarter people than us (which may be true, but it does NOT mean they are always right)?
