Noted.

Reminder for everyone: next week we could be quite a few so we will not use audio chat and we will definitely require everyone to use a wired connection.

I'm making some small adjustments to the random weather picker.
The formula is pretty much the same but the range in which the random numbers are picked is shifted slightly so the chance of rain at race start up goes up from 25% to about 30%.
I'll post the details soon in the Rule Book.

Edit: table of probabilities (after 500,000 simulations)

I would join tomorrow evening , if its okay !
I'll probably won't be able to join the whole 3 races ! If the room is full I'd prefer that you give the spot to a driver who's able to do all races !
@MrWhite1972 I'll add you tomorrow ,I just realized that you are from GTP

I'm interested too!
gamertag mister2cc
I just bought GT6 and didn't ulnock the multiplayer yet,so maybe I won't be able to join tomorrow. But I'd definitely like to race with you guys soon. :D

Hi.
I have done a few online races in GT5, both in private and public lobbies, but I didn't really keep playing GT5 because I didn't like the general unfair play in public lobbies. I like driving untuned old cars in clean races (I don't like crashes and never minded GT5 didnt have a good cosmetic damage model). If you want to know if I'm fair, I am. About being competitive, I don't mind doing a test if you need

My issue for now is that we have enough things to sort out with experienced online drivers to add more not-so-experienced ones. And you may not have noticed the 'Full' flag on the thread.

Sorry, didnt notice the "full" flag. Anyway, I drive on a lot of other games and have good experience in online playing (mainly Simbin games, like GT legends, but also Forza, F1). Of course I understand it's not a good time for me to join, but please let me know if things change. It's so tough to find no-tuning clubs... I thought I finally found the right one.

Was quite disappointed by the races today... too many people just being dirty in both overtaking and moreso in defending their positions... you have to allow 1 car space plus a bit if someone is by your side and not just take a normal racing line... after someone did this i got very aggressive with what's my line.
The last race mainly... the 1st (for me brans hatch) one was quite good, apart from it being my first laps with a bmw 135 lol... and took the 1st corner wide making me last, then having to fight to regain 2nd at the end

Well it depends how aggressive that is... as retaliating is not the answer either.
From what I've seen so far there were mistakes but there were people willing to concede places back when the situation needed it.
Obviously I didn't see everything.
So I guess you've been disconnected as well?

Note to the ones still in the lobby: I can't see it so I can't join it.

Standings Race3:
1 KingKlingeling
2 NapTown
3 JakeSaid
4 Third Reign
5 dran
6 corbius
7 watermelon
8 john
9 Warrius

Still not used to the way revers gear works in GT6, catches me out every time and I lose tons of time Q_Q

Haha, I understand. It was something I found really dumb in GT5 but sometimes, it's easier GT5's way...

Thanks for the results, by the way.

NO not retaliation, but was on inside, was expecting him not to give enough space again and stayed there, taking the hit.

Well give me some details and I'll have a look.
The point is for everyone to have fun. Including you. ;)
Have a look (not just Jake) at the last lap in race 1 or lap 14 (is that right WM?) in race 2 and these examples show that it's possible to share a track length without any contact...

Think you know how i behave when racing against someone, right warrius? XP i just get pissed off when someone goes round a corner like you aren't even there... totally opposite of our experience at rome XP.

I cant remember exactly , but if it's me you're talking about , I appologize
NO, that was at the start, it was a genuine mistake, i also had some nice racing with you back at special stage, so know you wouldn't drive dirty on purpose, yes today was slightly more aggressive, but still within the limit of being fair ;)... he who did it was defending as if his life was depending on it

I edited my previous post too late...

I was saying:
"And yes, I agree, if you're side by side, you don't just assume you're allowed to use the racing line, you need to make room for both cars."

thank you , sir !
now I can go to bed without nightmares .
see you next time :gtpflag:

This table looks a bit funny but it makes sense.
I've decided to dock 4 points to the top 3 at Silverstone because of the going wide a lot in the right hander before the back straight. There are cones and a white line so the track boundaries are clearly defined. Some would say it's a bit harsh, some would say I'm being nice. Note that I've taken into account the fact that you saw each other doing it so it's harder not to do it in these circumstances.
For the exact same reasons, I docked 5 points to Drandiiski. He gets a bigger penalty because he didn't have the bad example of other drivers around him...

If you end up short cutting a corner or going wide, you need to show you're not willing to gain from a genuine mistake. Just lift the foot off the gas for a second or two, that will do. As a demonstration, if you have the replay, have a look at my cornering in turn 1 of lap 8 of Silverstone. I took the corner really badly and had the whole car off the track so I let Cobrius past me.

Also please note NapTown's 3 points bonus in race 2 for waiting for Third_Reign while he had nothing to do with the German's spin.
This is my way of encouraging this kind of thinking. In doubt, be nice to your opponents.

Finally, I'm gutted I got disconnected in race 3 (if you're wondering, I use a wired connection ). It looks like my whole internet connection had a glitch as gtplanet was showing offline for a very very short while. I think I had found some good pace (if anyone remembers their time, was 1:14.4 a reasonable pace?) so I was not impressed. :grumpy:

And to go back to Jake's comments, I agree. If you know there's someone level, don't just assume you can just cut across, even if it is the racing line. Making room for the other driver is preferable.

But overall, I think the racing tonight was not bad and I enjoyed myself.
It was nice at last to race Cobrius to the finish at Silverstone. When I went wide half way through the last lap, I thought "No, not again! Cobrius won't get me this time!!". It was really tight but I was not unhappy about the last chicane. :D

That's a wonderful idea! Very very good!! Very good sportsmanship for Nap to make concession because he wasn't sure.

I remember seeing that spin in my rear view mirror and it looked so spectacular that I was trying to use "look back" on Coopers to see  :guilty: (curiosity!) and I wound up instead laying on the horn. :irked: :boggled:
:dunce:
