I need a faster computer. That site is more flash-heavy than HomestarRunner.com.

However, I was impressed with my WTCC blue/White Rally Stripe SS/RS with aerokit...

I just found a new love of my life.

Fun until you hav to replace the tyres of these 20inch rim HSV's :scared:

I think the Walky's use 21s or 22s!:scared: They're more of a cruiser than an actual sports car, a cruiser that with some drag tyres will do an excellent 1/4mile.

I waited for the configurer to count down from 100, then it made a funny noise and just sat there on 100, it won't load for me at all.:grumpy:

No, it comes with a stick standard. If you go to the configurator, and choose the 2SS, under options it has the auto as an option.

I've added the 370Z to the mix, which ends up being an echo of the same fuel economy figures across the board. Although, I have to admit that the 29 MPG is very impressive for the V6 model. That's rated better than my 10 year old Celica, and certainly a fair bit ahead of the rest of them.

Oh, and They Took the SS to the 'Ring

In case you're wondering, they pulled an 8:19 with the SS, firmly ahead of the G8 GXP, but still a second shy of the Lexus IS-F. Still, not bad.

On the Australian news site known as CarAdvice, they said it was actually the Holden boys who took that over to Deutschland, and they also said the car that did it was not the final production car and they expect the final production car to go faster yet.

Just built an SS on the Canadian GM site. 36 grand! A great price! If I remember right, the Canadian Nissan website had 370Z's in the low 40's.

Until the reviews come out on Friday, its perhaps its greatest advantage over the rest of the competition; The low price. Obviously there are some reasons for it (the interior comes to mind on the basic models), but if the driving dynamics come out right, I'm thinking that there shouldn't be much to hold it back.

I had been tinkering with some of the configurators, and most of them are floating around $26.5-28K, with the exception of the Nissan.

ah. I just looked in the pop-up box at the model screen and it said something about auto. thanks for clarifying.

Black on black. Simple yet brilliant. This model, color and option list is what I want to buy. No V8, no fancy stuff--just black on black and 300bhp.

Is there a way to get rid of that idiotic chrome ring around the tailights? Because otherwise JCE's is awesome (though I still want the RS lights).

Just some musings on the V6 model: why not spend the same amount on a still brand new 08 350z? Theres still plenty left and with only 2 horsepower more it will still manhandle the 6 cylinder Camaro.

Four issues with that.
  1. Its not a Camaro.
  2. The new Z looks ugly (to me).
  3. Its not a Camaro.
  4. I'd rather have alot more cars before I'd get a new Z.

I love the 350Z, but not the 370Z.

*edit*Oh, you said 350Z. Well I still would rather have the Camaro. After all I do own one already.

Yay, the configurator worked for me today.:) I built a 2LT with RS package in Rally yellow with the rally stripes package down the centre. It looked nice, came in just under $30,000.:) That price didn't sound too bad I thought to myself, then converted it to $AU and it's over $40,000.:indiff: Then you factor in the strange dollars it picks up on the way Down Under and you're probably looking at $50k for a V6 Camaro RS.:scared: For less than that I could have a brand new V8 SS Commodore, and for less than $30k I could get a 2nd hand V8 Monaro since I actually want a coupe.

Well, the Camaro would still be less money. Truthfully, I really don't think the performance difference is worth all that much either. Although the two of them shoot off at each other in terms of price, power and such, they're still very different cars. I'd personally have the Camaro or Mustang before the Z, but thats mostly because I'm clinically insane.

Hey, Here is a Handy Chart:

I get the feeling that the V6 model is in a sticky spot.

The V6 Camaro vs the Gen Coupe V6 is a nasty one. The Hyundai pretty much takes the Camaro in everything except price.

I don't understand why the top speed on the V6 model is so low, it just seems "wrong." Interesting though that the Cobalt SS is as fast as the Genesis 3.8, its proven itself quite a few times on the track... A shame that the interior can't match the overall performance numbers.

Yeah, I liked the Cobalt SS too... until I sat in it.
