I think GT2's front cover also confirms this as well. Though the car on the cover was never featured in GT2, 2 games later, one of it's descendants has.

Wasn't the GT2 cover just an engine?

In the UK it was, it was a close up of a McLaren F1 in other places though.

I presume this is it?

I know this was used as a menu for 1 of the CDs.

If GT4 and I presume GT5 are/will be car encyclopedias then why arent Ferrari and Porsche in the game? Leaving out two of the most recognizable car companies in the world doesnt make any sense. Sure you have RUF in the games now but I would prefer Porsche. It would be like if a book on the history of warfare left out World War One and Two. It wouldnt make sense.

We've must have covered this base around 100 times already.

Licensing was the issue for the previous GT games because of EA's grasp. We'll have to wait until GT5 to see if the grasp is officially dead.

BTW You can download Ferrari 360 spyder for Most wanted at nfscars.com.

I dont really care whats in GT5 as Ill never be lucky enough to have it...

Still makes me laugh how people expect big things for peanuts and then forget that it could've been a lot more expensive...

Give it a while, by the time PD actually bring GT5 out the PS3 will have gone down by 25-40% in price.

Yep, Sony have to I think... because when they see that in a few months the selling isn't as good as they wanted they need to lower the price... because they want to be marketleader... anyway, I only buy a PS3 when GT5 comes out... and you never now if that will be later then the releasedate that is given...

I'm aimming to get one soon as it's out, but I won't be crying if I have to wait until jan/feb following year. But anyways, that's another topic

THERE'S NO WAY!!

(Darn it, I was gonna dig up this thread this morning and forgot in my excitement) :D

There's no way Ferrari will ever appear in any game by PD.........never you hear me ;)

I guess this thread should really be locked, as it's run it's course.

I know there's a long thread about whether it's possible for the supercar makers, especially Ferrari, to be in the GT series.

Not a chance.

As we all know, NFS series always, well except for the last two UG series, had Ferraries. The newest NFS, the most wanted, will NOT have any Ferraries. It's kind of a shock when a few Lamborghini and many Porches are in the game.

Even with relatively good relation between EA and Ferrari, MW doesn't get any red. That leaves almost no chance for GT to have any.

Well I am gonna keep my hopes low so my heart won't break when we hear the bad news.

Or we could use it discuss Ferrari as being in GT and change the thread title, because you just know that sometime soon there's going to a few OMG "Ferrari is in GT" threads created anway.

Let's rename it to "Porsche/Lamborghini in GT? Not a chance."

....... hmm you never know, but if its only Ferrari guess what cars going to be on the box art of GT5..... hahahaha! That will stick one to the competition, maybe the sales of GT4 gave them some dosh to buy the licence... hopefully they will get others, koeisegg would be a good one (sorry cant spell it!)

But I have one SERIOUS question, does PD now have the Ferrari licence to do all the cars before 2006 or ONLY AFTER 2006? This worries me because GT only showed the latest Ferrari...not ones like the Dino, 360, F430, Enzo etc etc... can they only do ones out from now on? I dont know how these licences work...

They should be able to do all Ferraris.

i really hope gt5 supports the g25's clutch and 6 speed gearbox. with the increased power and memory... PD can run a much more complex algorthm. i wonder how realistic the physics will be for gt5... still months... maybe years to wait -_-

It is truely amazing that all the comments that said GT4 sucked because it didn't have Ferrari like Forza are now going to make their posters arguments incredibly stupid.

From now on, NO ONE can say Forza is better than GT because it has Ferrari.

Well, one of their primary goals for GTDH was certainly to make the physics more realistic. (As seen in one of the screenshots previously posted). So It is safe to say that by the time GT5 comes out, we'll have an idea of how realistic they are going to be.

I have only one concern. Since PD included in GTHD a lot of features that were supposed to come in the GT5 version, do you think there will be people saying: "meh, I got GTHD, it has pretty much what I wanted from GT5 and I've already spent some money on it...I see no reason why I should throw that money away by paying more money for an almost identical game to this one" Amd therefore GT5 sales would go downhill.

Trust me, people are very conformist. I know people who have neglected to buy GT4 just because GT3 was very realistic in comparison to GT2, and it was very similar to GT4.

Edit: Perhaps I should've posted this on the other thread :P

Ciao!

Well, since GTHD premium will have only 30 cars and a track, I doubt it's going to take away buyers for GT5.

Are you serious? Whew, that'll keep me from saving up for an HDTV.
