Love that Viper, personally I think it looks better in red but you know, more than what I have!

EDIT: Found a Mark Webber R5! Only 13 quid and it's a 1/18th minichamps. *bids* :D

I just won this beauty on eBay.

Wow! How much that set you back?

Only $51 actually and since it's in Canada (I'm in canada), shipping was very cheap as well. It comes with original box and mint condition and all that of course. That's a pretty good deal isn't it. 👍

I recently got my grubby little mits on a 1:18 1970 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, from Tokyo Drift, it's really good :) adds to the other 5 fast and the furious ones i have (Skyline, Evo 7, both Eclipses and a Civic)

Here's the one that arrived today. It's been quite a busy last 2 months. :dunce:

I got this model from eBay a while ago. It arrived today. It is the car that Nigel Mansell won the first race of 1992 at Kyalami in. He would go on to win 9 GPs total that year, a figure that was unmatched until Schumacher won 11 GPs in 2002 and 13 GPs in 2004 (the latter I believe won't be matched anytime in the next 10 years IMO).

Anyway, Mansell that year was champion as we all know and also had what most would call a superior car to Senna and others. I believe the FW14B had active aero and anti-lock brakes? and traction control as well. Michael Schumacher won his first race ever that year at Spa and Senna also had a nice win at Monaco having Mansell on his tail for the last few laps but Mansell couldn't pass him.

Here's a video of the starting laps onboard with Senna at Kyalami GP 1992. Gives you an idea of how fast the Williams's are. While he may have won his WDC in a superior car, so have many other drivers including Hill and Villeneuve and Hakkinen and Schumacher. I was too young to watch F1 when Mansell was around, but I've seen many videos of him and they're quite impressive and his career stats are very impressive as well.

Anyway, the model is really nice, on par with Minichamps models such as Senna/Mansell taxi, Williams FW16 Senna. In terms of decal quality, I would say a bit better than the Porsche 956L by Minichamps. It's actually better than most of my Hot Wheels models (the Schumacher 2004 Champion one is really nice IMHO). The tyres are nice, decals are nice, the engine detail is absolutely superb for the price I paid. The Exoto is obviously much nicer but it's also like $250-$300. I paid $40 for this Quartzo, quite a bargain. I will be looking to buy some other Quartzo models as well in the future. For now, another World Champion model added in my collection and I am happy about that. I love the car as well. Enjoy the pictures.

Isn't most car model interiors plastic? :dopey:
Nope, 99% of AutoArt models & all very high quality models have some sort of material as it's interior. In AA's it's a sort of rough material on the seats & real carpet on the floors, Exoto's vary along with CMC's which are mainly leather.

Wow CCX, those models are gorgeous, all of them from ebay?

I'm planning on starting a collection as well, the only one which is sitting here all alone is my Audi R8 and it really needs a matey! :D

Finally I got my camera fixed so here's some photos of the 3rd Solido DBR9 on GTP :D

I hope your counting mine as #2:sly:

It is decent. The paintwork is amazing & the hinges on the doors are Exoto standard! although the interior is all plastic :(

exoto standard? im not sure how good exoto standard is, the hinges are not very see-able but they are good.

my AA ford GT interior is plastic:grumpy: but it is rather detailed plastic though

and ultrashot, none of my models are from ebay :P i havent got an ebay account yet, i buy them at my local model shop(s) or mail order company, talking off that, im off to www.anticsonline.co.uk to see what they have in stock :D

Exoto standard is almost invisible smooth hinges that close perfectly, just like the DBR9.

This one arrived yesterday.

I tried getting this model on eBay but had a hard time finding a good price (with shipping to Canada) for it. I found one in UK but the seller changed his mind about shipping and tried to charge me double and I was forced to get a refund in the end.

Well I got lucky and I found it for even better price. Toronto Motorsports had a boxing day sale and had this marked down from $199cad to $99cad and I got it.

I really like this model. It has some sort of silver wheels, different than the black rims of the "champion" model. It also has some chinese logos on it since it's the livery from Shanghai GP. The Fisichella figurine is also a nice touch. And I also like the display case just like on the "Drivers' Champion" one. Oh and it doesn't have "race wear" like the driver's champion model.

I need only one more Renault and I will lay the Renault F1 chapter to rest. I will look to get either like a 2006 Champion if Hot Wheels makes one or one with a conversion made to that Phoenix livery or something like that.

Enjoy the pictures.

Well guys, I got my first model today, the Mclaren MP4-20 test car driven by Pedro De La Rosa. I should get some pictures up later tonight, the camera is playing up right now.

The Mansell model looks brilliant, I want one also, but I just don't know what brand is better made for that Williams. Cause I think Quartzo, MC and Exoto all make one dont they?

What do you guys think of the Mansell model? It's really nice for the price. I may buy another Quartzo in the future. They have a nice JPS Lotus of Fittipaldi and they also have a Villeneuve 1st Win, though the latter is a bit harder to find.

I made the images this small without thumbnails as any bigger and the images would be really grainy.

CCX - I love your DBR9... and I saw in Top Gear magazine that someone has made a couple hundred limited edition DBR9s that are the size of VCRs and have real carbon fibre on them... I also saw a tiny engine someone makes for about $400 in a magazine in my dentist's waiting room. It was a Ferrari replica and you got a starter button; a little accelerator; and also a little gearstick complete with clutch! :D I'd love one... I'd just be sitting there all day long with this little engine moving up through the gears and filling it with petrol... :sly:
