PS3 General Discussion

Perfect. The HDTV cloth couldn't have fit on top better even if they tried, so it's now on there all the time. It even hangs off the front a bit to cover up the green light at night time. :P

Looks like you've got that dust-accumulation problem covered 👍

So I clicked on the photo to enlarge it, and look at the random banner ad that xs.to placed above and below your pic:

That's reason enough to switch to an image hosting site without banner ads. :)

Good Idea, Those kind of cloths are probably the best thing for it.

I don't get why when I first got my PS2 people took the piss that I covered it with a cloth...:grumpy: they thought it was sad... Well they were stupid because if something costs alot you treat it well and take care, most people I know dont care less and then they wonder why their expensive mobiles, laptops, cameras, consoles etc etc break! Now they all have dust filled PS2's which have DRE's and most have completely failed and been thown out. Mine has lasted 8 years so far and has never once had a disk error! It looks brand new! Now when I get a PS3 there is no way im going to leave it uncovered or not cleaned in some sort of way.

It's not over the image...

If you look closely, the ad isn't over the photo.
What are you both talking about?

Maybe your web browsers are treating the placement of the banner ads differently, but as it shows in the screen grab, the banner ad is definitely above the image.

Besides, xs.to is practically the only reliable image host these days.
I've been using photobucket for several years with out any reliability problems, and have clicked on many different images hosted on other sites and have never had any problems seeing them. Guess I'm just lucky.

They mean that the ads are not superimposed on the actual image... i.e. the ads are not 'over' or 'on top' of the image, but it is 'above' the image...
So who said that they were superimposed, over, or even on top of the image in the first place?

So I clicked on the photo to enlarge it, and look at the random banner ad that xs.to placed above and below your pic:
(and the screen grab I took, clearly shows that it is above the pic)

So like I said, what are you two talking about?

I agree with xs.to being the only reliable one out there... I guess I've just never been bothered to join Photobucket, just because the other hosts are just that bit easier as it's instant.

They mis-interpreted your sentence.
It appears so.

What I was saying was look at the banner, not look at where the banner is. The problem with some banner ads is that they may not be what you want associated with the pic you are sharing.... thus the reason I added the :) at the end.

So besides the "Fart Button" banner, how would it look to have the following banner placed above a baby shower pic:

Or how about the following banner placed above a headshot of yourself that you are sharing with would be dates:

All of these I copied from xs.to when I refreshed that same pic.

Personally I just found it funny, which is why I added the :) at the end, but I can see why some may not want to use a hosting site that places banner ads right next to their pics.

  • PS3 Games (current, upcoming, and future)

For me though, Formula One: Championship Edition is my current top favorite, and nice to see it's popularity is growing across the net with online racing leagues.

I'm starting to get interested in MotorStorm again after the update and now that people are coming up with new racing rules and organized online racing leagues. The problem is that it still doesn't support race replays, thus checking for any rule violations is practically impossible.

  • PSN Games (current, upcoming, and future)

I like playing several of these, and will be getting the US version of Super Rub 'a' Dub which is likely going to become available for download tonight or tomorrow.

Most of the buzz on PSN games though is about LittleBigPlanet.

  • PSN Stores

Lot's of free movie trailers, game trailers, clips, and behind the scene stuff. Over 15 game demos, and many PSN games. They also have a trailer for both Home and LittleBigPlanet.

  • PlayStation Home

This is getting a ton of buzz right now, and when implemented, will make the PSN look like something from Second Life. Could be pretty interesting, and some are already talking up the idea of a special GTP area within Home.

  • Blu-ray Movies

They just keep getting better and better! 👍

My current newer release favorites are:
    • Payback: Straight Up - The Director's Cut
    • King Arthur: Director's Cut
    • Happy Feet
    • Big Fish
    • Finding Neverland
    • Layer Cake
    • Casino Royale
But the title I am most looking forward to, which comes out next week is Planet Earth: The Complete Collection which was shot entirely in HD and recently broadcast on Discovery Channel.

I got my free Casino Royale Blu-Ray by mail yesterday :D. I'm really happy with it, it's a movie I like alot (and it's free :P).

There is one problem however: When I played the film, there was no colour. First, I thought everything was allright, because the intro of the film is in black and white :P, but the black and white remained after the intro :ill: .

I tried to change some of the BD-Dvd settings, but I couldn't get any colour. When I play games, I do have colour.
Btw, my ps3 is connected with AV cables.

Can somebody help me with this? Thanks

When you say AV cables do you mean the ones that came with the PS3? Is your PS3 PAL? And what about games, are they black and white?

the first 10 min of the movie IS in black and white. I did the same thing with mine

OK, ****ty PSN update this week. There's the Ratchet & Clank trailer we've seen a while ago, and an Oblivion trailer. Plus trailers for movies no one cares about.

The good news, however, is that there'll be a Ninja Gaiden Sigma demo this Sunday in the Japan store, and Calling All Cars is to be released next week.

I downloaded that Rub 'a' Dub demo yesterday (cannot remember which store.)

For 6 year olds maybe? Duck lovers, maybe?

:odd:
