Lotus Elise and Porsche Cayenne today, not to forget the Mercedes C M Type R :nervous:

There was a CL 500 and M5 parked in the Cayenne guys house yesterday, same house which has the 911 Turbo i posted earlier.

Is that a Magnum RT in the AMV8 shot?

Could've been; I didn't check. They're everywhere. The guy in the Magnum was the only person (besides me) who noticed the Aston! He got to the stop sign first but let the Aston go in front of him, presumably because he wanted to see it; then he watched it make the turn and go up the street.

Doug, the exhaust tips are also wrong on this "M5". These tips are quite small, oval shaped, and have a rolled edge. M5 tips are round and do not have a rolled edge:

These are real M5 wing mirrors:

And though I trust McLaren's judgement, since he's seen, studied, and photographed many of these cars professionally, I don't think his point about the amber turn signals is valid. American M5s may have yellow signals, and I've seen many cars that do (take the Saab 9-5X's colored US lights and frosted white Euro lights as an example). This piture, along with all of them on World Car Fans show clear signals:

Also, the above pictures and numerous pictures here show that the rear license plate surround is flush with the trunk lid, then closes around the plate in a rectangular shape. The fake M5 above doesn't do this; it starts to angle in toward the plate right away from the edge of the trunk lid. That's obvious from the shadow underneath the edge which runs the length between the tail lights. Also, there's no key hole present on M5s, and it is on the fake car. And it looks like the owner forgot to swap out his cheap black plastic grille, too.

I've seen many owners being 100% meticulous when doing JDM conversions to their Hondas. And that's why this M5 is laughable.

Decent spots today so far...

Dodge Viper SRT-10 - sorry I couldn't get a better photo, but trust me, I tried.

BMW M6

gt500-060907.jpg

Shelby GT500 - I'm done posting these too; they're everywhere now.

Bentley Flyin' Spur number twenty zillion.

cayenne_turbo_s-060907.jpg

Porsche Cayenne Turbo S number, like, two.

Because I had access to the number plate which he blurred out?

I'm sorry - I thought my side by side comparison of the vehicles from Google Images was enough - turns out, Holdenhsvgtr had the reg number and ran it through yesterday. Then after he posts that nugget, you come in forty minutes later talking about the headlight wipers - a detail you no doubt would've missed had you not had access to the certain knowledge that the vehicle was a fake. And then you give me **** for not checking my resources? I'm not buying it, buddy.

I went on my judgement based on the information I had available at the time - you had more information available. Case closed.

Too bad you're jumping to conclusions again.

I suspected it as a fake even without reading his statement on it. Why? Because the front bumper throws off the stance. The M5 has a certain stance to it, and when I saw the bumper on that "conversion", I immediately noticed it looked out of place for an M5, with the car not having the same 'pressence' as the M.

But too make sure I didn't look like an ass, and jump on your post the same way you did on his, I did some in-depth research, not a side-by-side comparison with Google.

You know a lot about telling different models apart Doug, which means you really have to know the tiniest, unique parts to certain vehicles. That side lamp was easily one I thought even you would have caught without needing to worthless side-by-side shots, which still should have revealed the lamp.

Good catch on that. 👍

My picture was from the '05-'06 model, so I can see that it's highly likely it's been changed for '07. This is a used 2006 model M5.

Although, it may differ from Europe since this is an '07 model.

RIGHT THEN! :D

ferrari silverstone 2007:

There were hundreds of cars, most ferrari, all gathered at silverstone today and I have a few photos, The race cars were competing in their respective championships, the road cars where just gathered there, and would attempt the world record of 300 cars on one track at the same time. The road cars not included were the ones spotted in car parks round the back of the circuit, not many people were there.Damn there was some 4 wheels beasts.

A hint of what is to come:

It seems like the Veyron owners are doing a good job of getting their cars seen.

I read about it in the paper, knew somebody from GTP had to have been there

You know, as bad as the FXX looks from nearly every other angle, it looks pretty bad ass from the rear.
Can we get an agreement that the 512M is the most atrocious...thing...that Ferrari has ever let leave their factory? The cars only 12 inches away on each side are shockingly better than it is hard to believe that they were designed by the same house. Still, its rare all the same. Good spots CCX.

And a Mondial t!

We are talking about the same car, right? Not the Testarossa to the right, but the red abomination between the Testarossa and 512bb?

Nice shots, though they certainly deserve their own thread.

BTW, the F40 just has a LM-aftermarket spoiler, and front bumper work. You'll know the GTE-LM when you see 'em.

For example, I doubt any of the F40 LM's would have real windows. And the front bumper looks completely different in any case.
M5Power
No - I still believe it's got the best stock wheels of any car, ever.
You need the therapy I subjected myself to: Look at the Testarossa (though the 512TR will also work). Look at all angles. Then look at the 512M. If you don't barf, do it again. One only needs to look at the rear-end, and it isn't advised to look at both the back and front at the same time (I don't want to be held responsible for seizures or general convulsing). And for that matter, to see the cool wheels that it admittedly does have, one has to be looking at it from the side. You can't see the ugly from the side, and it might even trick you into thinking it is a 512TR.

Oh, I thought we were talking about the Testarossa. I saw 512 TR and thought "Testarossa" Yeah, that things blander than a mid ninties Mercury.

512TR? We're talking about the F512M. And amazingly enough, there's a man on F-Chat who owns 3. He brought one of them out to the FCA show.

I was really hoping someone here could tell me what I saw today. Sorry about the crap pictures, they were extremely rushed.

It doesn't look like it will be moving anytime soon, so I could always get better pictures and ask the owner.

When I first saw it, it I thought maybe it was a GT40 inspired kit car. MistaX insists it isn't.

Edit: I'm fairly sure it's a fiberfab something or other kit car.

I admit something is left to be desired, but I don't like the looks (or the character) of any of those Testarossa-inspired cars, be it the Testarossa itself or the F512M. I was just stating that I love the wheels - not the styling.

Only two spots today...

corvette_c4-060907.jpg

Not sure what the story is on the front end of this Corvette - just a bodykit, or some special model?

Anyway, this evening I was just heading out to look for cars when I saw this...

diablo-060907-9.jpg

This is the third time I've seen this particular Diablo (and the third time I've posted photos) but this time the photos have the added bonus of being near and around other cars - normal cars - on the road, so you can see just how badass the Diablo is. They really show off its mean looks, and why I still believe it's the most aggressively-styled car... ever. Enjoy!

...If I was the dude in the Lambo I would have had a constant 'finger' in the air directed at the Prius, then I would have proceeded to burn unnecessary amounts of rubber just to piss that douche-bag off...

Have I mentioned that I hate the Prius and the people who drive them?

You are the leading cause of Smug pollution, thats why. Also a large SUV is more environmentally friendly in the long run.

= Sage sad day. :(

What’s the rational behind putting those damn things in the downtown portion of every major city?
